That might work maybe, but would need to make sure it would balance properly in multiplayer.
Doubt the devs would want solo and co-op players to experience levels too differently. Aside from speed of completion (based off of currently levels in the game there isn't any difference at all between the Singleplayer experience vs the Multiplayer experience.)

The monster doesn't look like it could move fast. I think its better make it crawl in some tight places like vents, also for me (for some reason) it looks like it doesn't like light so moving in complete darkness would make a level more hard and unsettling. bro looks like a noodle so he's probably not so fast
