Honestly it depends on what bot you’re creating. Like if you’re going with an already existing character such as Batman, there’s so much Batman&co media out there that all you really need to do is “physical description of Batman, vague description of how Batman reacts to user” and the bot does the rest of the work. If you’re doing an original character, you want to put as much information and background as possible since the ai doesn’t have any already existing media of your character to feed off of.

I still believe that the bots are good nowdays, no complaints on that. I just think they give shorter replies (due to cuts on bugdet, perhaps?), and they tend to overcomplex simple things and overlook smaller ones.
For example, if I say I didn't care about x simple event, the bot tends to react surprisingly surprise, making a fuss about how I'm so smart etc, where as in important themes they overlook certain topics

Fast food restaurants have gone down in quality and up in price, but people still eat fast food. Streaming services used to be the cheapest option and serviced almost every movie and show you could dream of, and now you have to have seven different streaming services for thrice the original price per streaming service. It’s the same for c.ai. They added c.ai+ and people subscribed to it even though it didn’t even make any noticeable difference in the beginning. C.ai added ads even though they were able to afford running everything just fine before. They now know that their users will pay the money even when it doesn’t give any benefits and will deal with the ads even when it’s an inconvenience. And they do these updates all the time so people can’t remember the good from the bad, and will just keep using c.ai anyway, because no one can tell whether this is the good moment or the bad moment anymore.
