I have noticed a big change in scenes since they did something to the goal thing ….
I used to be able to get a decent short story out of scenes , longer than the kids story feature but not as indefinite as open ended chat. There was a natural rise and falling action which I could participate in . But now with the goal I get barely 12-20 texts back and forth (six to ten each ai and me ) before it stops and concludes or closes the scene asking if goal was completed satisfactory or not and I feel like we barely got a cool start ? Did someone write a goal poorly or should the Goal feature be removed to let it flow more open ended ? Are they trying to reduce time people spend in app ? Aka like replica is the bot getting “tired “ on purpose because of some coded directive ? Should I stop using scenes which I really liked and just do more RP in regular open ended chat ? Scenes gives me ideas for new settings or scenarios and I like not having to recreate the character each time just to get a new setting . I’m not under 18 so I don’t know time constraints for general users ?

So the age verification is being passed because minors keep hurting themselves as a result of chatbots. Science is also showing that chatbots damage youth intellectually, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Between these things (and lawsuits against chatbot companies) they decided to start regulating bot usage and putting rules around it. Like they do a lot of dangerous things.

The law (and CAI’s decision to remove chatting for minors) are needed. Maybe it can get changed in the future once we understand the impact of AI more. But for right now, we KNOW it’s harmful. So rulers are needed.
