Blaming AI alone kinda oversimplifies a much bigger systemic issue. The real conversation should be about how all tech managed though.

Transparency is good, but we should be asking all major tech companies for the same. Not just AI platforms. Otherwise, it sounds like we want to single out something just because it's new and visible.

Honestly, the best answer you can get is by testing it out yourself. The experience differs from ppl to ppl. While some prefer Nyan, some prefer other Styles like Roar, Dynamic, or Goro.

It's much easier to switch style mid-chat now, so I think it's feasible to test it out by yourself one by one to get a good feel of what each Styles do in your case.

this is an integral part of RP though, you have to learn to create a story without controlling the user

consider it from the perspective of someone RPing with a real person and not just a bot, it would be frustrating to have the other people in an RP constantly controlling your character's thoughts and actions

It's the same with a bot though, you do it in the intro and the bot will continuously dictate the user's feelings until it forgets that behavior it learned

It's worth remembering that you can control your character in the replies. If a bot is private, this doesn't matter as much, but it's crucial if a bot is public, because it stops being about just you at that point

i personally don't think the definition matters much in how long the bot's responses are gonna be.
If there's one that might be affecting it, it's most likely the Greetings, since it set the tone early on on what kind of response should the bot gives.

But even then, after a few messages in, the greetings will be forgotten after around 20-30 messages in and the bot will start to develop its own speech pattern based on the recent messages exchanged between them and the user. So it really is just a matter of whether you're enabling them to give short responses each time (by not swiping it even if their response is short) or by not giving a long response yourself.

I've tried it out and it's true. If I put a bunch of dots on the greetings message and keep it up with longer answers, the character is gonna contain more information as always

But if the greeting is small, you'll only be able to get longer messages by editing and/or after a few messages

This is how long my bot and I give responses usually, and it's not even the longest ones i have. You can see that the length is pretty much consistent from the bot and equally long (if not longer) than mine.

Even with the one time I gave it a shorter response, the pattern is already set there since way before, so it's fine even if you occasionally give it a shorter response. Just not all the time, otherwise the bot will think that's the new response length that you'd prefer.

it picks up random things and the information picked isn't always accurate either.
The auto-memories feature itself is still experimental and wonky rn, so you might want to edit it yourself if they start picking up the wrong info.
