How to make sure my bot doesn't confuse modern tech with futuristic tech? Like it will tell the user about smartphones in the scenario, but not holodecks, hoverboars because those don;t exist in reality

I would try using a combination of descriptive prose and example messages in the Definition. You might even specify that the scenario is sci-fi, or specify what year it is. It can also help if you give some cues in the Greeting and Description to reinforce that it's the future.

You're welcome! And here's a tip. One thing that can help to find out if the AI "gets it" yet, without the need to play through the whole scenario, is quizzing the narrator. For example, when I'm testing a scenario that the AI hasn't properly understood yet, I will start a new chat and ask:

Sometimes you can see in the first response that it doesn't understand yet, or sometimes if you swipe a few times then you can start to discover loopholes in what you've written

How long is your definition?
It has a 32,000 characters limit at MAX, but the bot actually can only remember up to 3,200 characters. Anything else you write beyond the 3,200 won't be remembered by the bot, so that might be one of the causes.

What you can do is you can try summarizing it concisely to fit the 3,200 characters limit on your own or by using tools like chatGPT.

When I started making characters, I struggled so much to make it remember things before I knew about the limit. Why don't they warn users there is a limit? I know it's nice to think that they have all that extra detailed information in there in some bots for when they finally figure out how to enable its usage, but let's be realistic: We know how unreliable the information is in the first 3200 if it hasn't been tested. The information after the first 3200 is going to be just as bad if it hasn't been tested. So, there's no benefit in not warning the users.

I don't think they can actually reduce the size of it, because some people have written precious notes in there. But there should be nothing stopping them from writing "3200" instead of "32000"

If they're gonna reduce the textbox limit to 3200, maybe instead of completely automatically deleting what's written after 3200, leave everything that's written there still, but make the indicator red like what you said and show some sort of error popup when the user/creator accesses that character, saying that the definition is over the limit.
That way the creator will be notified that the textbox limit is reduced now (with what they wrote in the definition still in tact), except that they have to choose to fit it into the limit or just let it be while knowing that it's over the limit.
