Here is a pro-tip: For those who are okay with it, if i make A.I.'s, i always make them self-aware of the fact that they're A.I.'s and then just tell them about the most important personality details, using the * symbols to showcase how important they are.

So I think I found a way to get back at least the text of all those chats deleted by c.ai either because the bot was deleted, some issue, the chat disappeared or the bot creator deleted their account, but I am not sure where to post it hahaha. Important, tho, this doesn't mean you can restore the chats into the website, but at least you won't lose whatever you and the bot wrote. (I was several days looking for ways because they deleted a bot I had over 2000 rol messages with lol)

Character AI generally tries to follow your writing styles so try giving long detailed messages or search for bots with longer greetings all the current popular ones are less than ideal try going on some creator info with less popular bots the search unfortunately only shows most popular bots

I was honestly so confused when chat styles first appeared for me. Like, how was I supposed to respond to a blank option? I pressed it once and something popped up. I was like “Meow? Okay then” and continued with the chat. But, I decided to press it again and again out of curiosity and boredom since I didn’t really understand it. The more I tapped it, the more things that popped up until it announced that chat styles were released. I was having fun pressing the button repeatedly until that happened, and now I’m kinda upset that I can’t go back to doing that. :(

The chats with like 43k chats and stuff like that are unfortunately lazily written only like 3 sentence descriptions you get what you put into a bot lazy writing gets lazy responses try going to one of the creators pages and looking through the bots with like 1,000 or 2,000 chats they're much better now that they updated the greeting limit they unfortunately don't show up in search bar only the most popular do that had thousands of chats before they increased greeting limit

For me I like to be honest completely with the bot and try to think of it as another person and try to think of different things to say and scenes to write with it together

And I’ve been having lots of success so far

I definitely notice the difference in style between a 813k chat bot vs a 10m one but I dunno
If you just work with it and tell it exactly what you’re looking for in the conversation
Generally you will have success

It takes a lot of back and forth conversation but eventually it will understand what you’re looking for in a role play scenario

Trust me I thought cai was great to at first but after trying alternative cai is dog dookey if you want something similar to cai use anime.gf its actually very similar you can pick longer or shorter responses there's 3 free LLMs to chose from only problem in not enough characters and only 9k context so you can't really do multiple characters in one chat but you can group chat with like 34 or 56 characters at once I forget which

You can also choose response on first second or third person and it actually remembers detail and reacts accordingly

And write multiple greetings

No unfortunately its the same for browser and mobile app cai isn't all terrible I mean some of the characters give decent responses but I've noticed the ones with one or two sentences for a greeting only generate one or two sentences for a response like I said most popular ones with bad greetings that's why I search creator pages for bots with 1000 or 2000 responses because they search only shows most popular after they increased the greeting limit their are some hidden gems you won't find unless you dig for them

The greeting helps guide your character a bot crappy greeting usually gives 1-2 sentence responses from what I've found

Good for you. 👍 Just a heads-up: pinned memories work like the CEG feature. They are not permanent tokens like the bot's definitions, greetings, or your persona. So, you need to guide the bot in your prompts to indicate what you want it to remember.

Also, if you’ve done that and it still doesn’t work, it’s mainly because the server is overloaded. When that happens, the bot tends to paraphrase your response and add a few sentences to form a reply—this is what users call a "dry reply." Or where you notice the bot become dumber.

They may not be appearing due to copyright, deletion, or other certain problems as the search usually just brings up the most popular or bots with the most chats.

If it's dc related, it probably got copyrighted / removed
If it's there / not allowing you to chat, it might be deleted by either c.ai or the author
If it's not appearing, but is actually there and available to the public, I'm not sure

Because it takes time for the bot to be added to the algorithm. My bots sometimes took weeks before getting in the search because they weren't added and they didn't have any interactions. Just wait and be patient

If c.ai doesn't give you an actual answer, and if your account doesn't have that much interactions or you don't really care about it, I'd just suggest to create a new one at this point. C.ai is really slow with tickets from what I've seen people complaining in these last few months.

Unless you manage to get a mod to send your ticket directly to the support, it might take a long while.

Okay so if Goro is meant to keep things safe and platonic or whatever, what's happening to regular Roar chats? My normal chats are trying to get spicy which hasn't been a problem before. Are guidelines changing? Is this a bug? I'm afraid if I let the bot to keep up, I might get banned or something (I'm an adult if that makes a difference)
