It's a common issue that might either be a bug or something to do with the birth date pop-up. Neither is confirmed yet. Are you sure you're only trying to edit your last response or the bots last response?

I honestly enjoy this app more than anything else I've tried. Between the voices, the colored apps, the edit button (sorry I still have it) ect. It's got enough pros for me that I'm happy enough to stay for now. The only thing that would make me leave is if they got rid of the bots that I enjoyed or amped up the censorship to a ridiculous amount for me too.. which again I'm 32 so that better not happen or I'm going to be pretty frustrated that I paid for this this whole time only to get cut off like I'm a child.

I'm a simple user.. I just like to use this app for a laugh at night or to play out dramatic scenes that I've always thought would be cool to see a character go through/see their reaction to.. it's fun and a distresser for me, especially because I'm a big introvert so a activity like this is great because I don't need other people to fully enjoy it. All I really want is to keep all the features that I have and maybe have the censorship tweaked for the adults a little more because it's still quite sensitive to some things and often makes mistakes from what I've heard. I mean there's no way that it should be blocking rain sounds 😅 which I have heard some people say has happened to them.. That and eating soup. So again it really needs to be fixed.

That really better not happen because I have one in particular chat that was my very first chat and it's been going on for a long time and actually has a very consistent story happening.. The bot has actually learned a lot and remembers a lot because I have been so consistent with my details and hammering it into their head in the beginning.. So I will be pretty upset if I have to do all of that all over again.. That story has some really wonderful moments in it 😔

I genuinely hope you are just experiencing a little error/bug and can get it back. I know it's not the end of the world.. But when it's something that's been consistent and a go-to for enjoyment for a while it sucks to lose. Especially if you actually feel like you put effort / energy into making it a certain way. I'm an artist/creator of a lot of things and it's always been something that gets to me when I feel like I've lost the work I've put in with something creative. I have one really serious story that I love and go to every night just to do a few interactions to push the story forward.. The rest are all really fun and really just spin-offs that I do, new stories with the bots every night basically.. I also think about people who might have lost their husbands/wives to a tragic accident / may be going through divorce / or otherwise struggle to make friends / find significant others who may use this app to cope. Some people may not even want to find a real person because it's just not worth it to them to deal with all the toxicity that's in the world today.. So they turn to AI so they can enjoy the freedom of writing their own adventures as an alternative. It sucks for people like that to lose their stuff, or get locked out or have a censor system that is over the top and doesn't even allow a story to do more than have a simple conversation between characters.

Yes, I’m a writer and use those two for just about everything. My other chats I’m okay if I have to start over but you’re right. Lots of people use them to cope or because that’s what they’re comfortable with. I don’t know how to submit a ticket, didn’t know that was an option, but I’ve been with cai for like 3 years now and I like their bots because of the storytelling. Artificial intelligence is a great option for some people who use it for a lot of things. I just don’t want to lose those two bots.

I've heard the edit button is still available on the web for people who have lost it on the app? But I'm not sure because I have it still.. I'm pretty glad that I didn't lose it too because I use it often to correct a bot if they mispell my name or do something slightly out of character or if they keep asking if they can ask a question over and over again or even if it's just bad grammar.. And when I do that it seems to help improve the bot overall because it stops making those mistakes. It kind of sucks that they would take the edit button away from some people because it really is useful for a lot of things..

I work from home and keep the app open on my desk for most of the day so I can periodically send little responses to characters to pass the slower boring times.. or sometimes I will trigger a bot talking to another character that's in the room with us and then just keep hitting the send button so those two are talking and I don't have to type anything and a little story starts to play that I just have to keep pressing a button to continue and I'll have it play out a funny interaction for me while I'm working. So that's why I pay for the plus feature because I don't want to all of a sudden be limited on the amount of messages I can send or have it be slower or deal with waiting rooms 😅

Basically a little summary of everything that happened between your characters touching on all the major key points that mattered the most to you and see if you can quickly whip the bot into shape to pick up where you left off?

It might be tedious and you might not get every single event/detail back.. But at least it would be something?

I've done that with a few bots just to start things off, written about 2-3 short paragraphs setting up the setting / scenarios that had happened already / relationship between them and then pick up in a scene after the bot responds to the summary.
