Hii, I have a question. Can you send 2 character greetings in group chats since I remembered before that you could send both of the characters greetings in old c.ai rooms before they could talk to eachother.

Just wondering, how is c.ai able to operate legally? Like, other chat and text/image generation sites refuse copyrighted characters and although that's silly I'm just wondering if there's a lawsuit waiting to happen considering it's literally built off of bots wearing the face and voice of intellectual property. Not that I care if that's infringed, I'm more wondering if there's an expiry date on this for that reason.

The way it works is that developers prioritize the problems that the most people are having issues with that make the biggest impact. Right now, the devs are swamped with complaints about the new site, so people reporting legitimate errors are harder to pick out. The more people submit tickets, the more the support team realises the problem is widespread and affecting people's ordinary use, and the faster the error gets solved. That being said, please do not spam tickets, they'd count by unique users reporting.

okay so if u opened a new empty chat or made a duplicate by accident { or both like i did } u can delete those in the web { rename the dupe so yk which one to get rid of } by rewinding all the way to the intro and then deleting the intro

then go to ur app and switch to ur original chat through there and itll save to ur web

on the app just click the bots name at the top and scroll a little and u should see the history area to find ur original chat in order to switch back

If you click the character name/profile icon on the top of the screen or on the right side bar (when in a chat with the character) it'll open up their character profile. If the page doesn't exist it'll just redirect you to the discover page.

Yup. My dad works with servers (At&t not the same as ai I know) and they have to replace old servers a lot. They even shut down all the 2g servers since it wasn't worth it keeping them up

Yes, I believe that Reddit inherently isn't a good place for feedback because it subconsciously drives people to say stuff that gets the most upvotes (even if its exaggerated or a straight up lie.) Plus the Discord has a lot of good threads discussing about concerns, ideas, and other feedback.

For example my Group Chat Improvements Megathread contains basically every concern and feedback related to the group chats feature (total of 16 points alongside a separate thread asking for the feature to be brought to web.)

It could be a bug or the bot has a word in it that's getting shadow banned. By removing the word you should see the bot. Now what the word is? That's a guess

well, the thing is, I would post the bot and it just not show up for a bit, then appear. Like the first one that had this thing happen to it was the Plushie factory bot I made. I made it to just turn people into plushies. I did my normal test with it to see how good it does at turning me into a plushie. When I go to look at it in my page, its not there. But then, after a few hours of chatting with other bots, it was suddenly there in the page and it had about 46 people chating with it

On old site this didn't happen, but I have bots that use multiple characters (rpg) and usually they are not confused. New: they randomly talk to the wrong person or don't identify them right. Example an ai called me darling and then called another character darling. Differentiation isn't happening as it should be.

Apparently because of this, the Bot began to behave strangely. maybe they have a limited amount of storage space? Having started a new chat, he began to respond very adequately.

second, and I'm just wondering this, why do ppl still chat OOC with characters if they've already added message editing
like you shouldn't have to use OOC to tell the bot to do something a certain way if you can just... edit the message

i just realized the remix option is gone... i used that so much for my bots. what the heck man. clipboard isn't functional on the website or the app, so I'll really have to copy and paste over and over and over and over for duplicate bots of the same character. outrageous

wait were remixes temporary changes to a character or did it just make a copy of that character?

and also wdym they're gone, were they in the new website and then it got removed?

remixes were the ability to copy a character/bot and you could edit them. i dont see them on the new site or app at all. i used the old website before all this :/

sort of. The same character with different prompts/stories. I have a lot of Snape bots with different stories, like there's a demihuman one, a vampire one, and a couple different versions of a werewolf one. I won't be making anymore bots anytime soon if this is how it's going to be, though. I put a lot of work into my bots, too :( lately I've been on another ai website that ive neglected char.ai and now i just cant get back into it. this really sucks

Chub ai has something similar, I was just chatting with a bot that had 7 different greetings.

Chub's pretty good, it has very 'story-like' responses. Although it and c.ai right now have a cutoff issue.

idk why group chats still exist they're just a worse version of rooms
