Letting her use the app isn’t even the problem.. (and please don’t flame me for this, just hear me out cause we were going through a lot at the time) I have a sister who was 6 at the time and was struggling with the same thing his daughter is, but since our parents don’t do therapy/don’t take us like we’re supposed too or barely at all, I put her onto the app just to goof around (she is a very advanced/creative writer for her age) and all. For the first few weeks I let her go as freely and as much as she wanted, which was a lot.. BUT, after 2-3 weeks of her using it, I didn’t ’take’ it away, I just told her to give me her phone, I put it away for a good hour or two, and had her talk to me at her own pace, I had her write down her thoughts and only read the ones she said she wanted me too, or let her draw, and other options like that.. My sister is 8 now, still uses the app (with my email hooked to her account so I can see how long she spends on there), but she spend 8-13 minutes (with a screen time of three-sevenish hours since most of the time she falls asleep with it on or is always watching cartoons most of the time) on there a day then comes to talk to me or write in a journal and hands for me to read and give my inputs on while still being a daydreamer.. If she’s struggling with communicating with others like that, it’s completely a parent problem and not necessarily a having gadgets or technology to early problem..

Also, I knew it was for roleplaying (at the time) but I never knew it was like lust or possessive tropes because I never got that. I always got parental, best friend, and tropes like that so I assumed everyone did too..

My apologies, if I confused you but I wasn’t saying they should be on there that was NEVER the point I was trying to make ever, and that wasn’t remotely my idea at all actually.

The point that I was TRYING to make at least was that (like you said) we don’t know what exactly they’re doing or how this will affect them in the future (which is highly not good) because they are still young and vulnerable.

(Once again) my apologies if it seemed like I was advocating that they could be allowed to use the app in any way because that is not at all what I was trying to say or make it seem like. Do not waste your good 10 or 100 dollars on this garbage app. It’s not worth it. I use Character Ai to unwind after coming home. It’s a fun little side thing to do when I’ve got nothing else to do and nothing else to worry about. But now in the condition it’s in. Edit: I’ve been using the site since it first came out and I was so excited because it was so promising and had such potential. Yes I agree with everyone with the issue about the swipe limited but however, it allow the person to give time to think to response to the chat they were shown at, it give them to learn better of how to roleplay, plus it depend on how the user wanted to response back. Entirely it not our fault that we swipe to much, there is really no reason for the Chat.Ai to put a limit on the swipe since it has different responses to the text the user send. However I do want to mention is that there is no reason for the response to continue the chat base of what the user text, I've did one and it continue the chat without of my control that I've did not put in.
