Worldbuilding, history and language go hand in hand, and I think that should be expressed more because quite often worldbuilding feels shallow without some sort of history to cling to.

My problem with a lot of modern worldbuilding, especially in things like D&D, is the lack of a sense of history. Ruins are pristine, the world has no rot within it.

I think that worlds should have signs of decay, since decaying empires is a thing that happens all the time in real life. You see the remnants, but they're clearly leftover bones, not full representations of the past.
