i tried both with and without a singular other theme and it yielded much the same result so im not inclined to believe this was a "theme" issue

This is an issue with your theme.
The themes you are using don't account for something as simple as discord variables, which is bad.
i have pictured here:
standard discord dark
standard discord ash
sleekcord
materialcord
DDEX4
and clearvision. these themes, and this snippet, works.
there is nothing wrong with the snippet apart from the known issues posted. WOMM.

literally in your images, none of them display the profile section when you are PLAYING a game. and you can clearly see in your profile section the black box i mentioned.

this isn't a ME issue, one of these issues is clearly replicating on YOUR client too.

please read what i've said and check before blaming this on me. i literally mentioned i had turned OFF ALL MY THEMES and it still did not work as intended.

those issues were not what i was dealing with, those were legitmate issues, and i now know about them, thank you,
but the serverlist not switching color is a theme issue.
