I've met with the team and it's become pretty clear that in both circumstances, we should not have accepted either report.
The accepted report passed the bar for an ID oracle, which was the thing we were getting inundated with at the time, and why we initially thought this difference was just that we change the policy over time. We accepted the other report as a low with similar reports of ID oracles mistakenly. That report, along with this one, do not pass the bar for a security issue given both are a privacy angle and the other reporter received a bounty by mistake.
tl;dr - This report was rejected as a non-security issue. A new report came in that we mistaken accepted for the wrong reason. Because we accepted it for the wrong reason, it led to further confusion in this old report. This is our fault for accepting the other report but there is nothing else to do here as neither issue meets our acceptance bar.
That said, I'm approving your disclosure request to allow for everyone's transparency
