#Narrow faceplate from the HDZero Goggles for Goggles X
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I adapted the narrow faceplate of the HDZero Goggles to fit the Walksnail Goggle X. It can be printed from any material but i prefer carbon infused for the look.
Finished print can be glued on with double sided tape or any other removable glue.
Props to DanoFPV from where i got the idea.
What kind of improvements did experience after installing the faceplate?
Main improvements were:
- less pressure near nose
- bit more uptilt of the goggles
- goggles closer to eyes --> bigger FOV and clearer picture near the edges
What kind of foam should I use?
I used none. Fitted the print to my face by heating it with a hairdryer and then adapting it to my shape. Currently working on an update using a 3d scan of my face
so you used the original face foam ? I can't find the foam from HDZero anywhere

I use no foam at all. Straight print to skin. But i molded the print to my face so it's quite comfortable
@merry vale
This Thing is awesome and fits my face nearly perfekt!
A friend of Mine printed it for me
Nice to hear 👍
@minor elm
I use it without any foam and adapted it further using a scan of my face
For my understanding it Just get clicked in the Front?
Or is some glue necessary
I used some double sided tape commonly used in phone repair
Makes sense will do that too
Very happy. 100% worth letting this print
Feels super comfy
My current itertion. I'm currently working on some air channels in the sides. Either modeling or using modifies in the slicer like gyroid infill without any walls
Makes sense
The goggles fog very quickly
No clue how you managed to design this shape
Above my skill level
Used the cad model and remodeled it in Meshmixer
@merry vale awesome Just a tiny bit less narrow would be perfect for me
What kind of double sided tape did you use? Just thin stuff or the thicker foam stuff?
I used thin double sided tape used in phone repair.
