Yes and no. The race mode that was teased will keep the latency as low as possible. But it’s really a fixed latency mode like analog or HDZero

Be careful what you ask for. 🙃 The fixed latency does not mean low at all. They could easily make it fixed by delaying each frame and display with a fixed clock rate, let's say 20Hz. So, in case of lost frame the WS would have enough time to retransmit it before it is displayed.
Actually, the way the system works right now is kinda fixed latency, at least as long as the comm link is stable.

They already doing this with the upcoming race mode but for that the resolution is at 540p and it allows another channel (probably matching the r band)
