The new ELRS 3.3 support the MSP protocol so a VTX configuration can be controlled by a radio channel.

There one specific WS feature that can get an advantage from ERLS controlled MSP commands: control the VTX power.

In particular it could be very useful, at least, to set the VTX Power to zero (PIT mode).

Being already connected to the FC using the MSP protocol to receive the OSD, this additional feature is very easy to implement.

I don't really see the point as the vtx is on standby mode until the FC is armed

When you change nitrate résolution etc there is a second blank screen. So exactly what I do not want when I'm flying.
My point is all these settings can be changed through the stick on goggles.
The vtx power is the only I can see an interest but I prefer set it to what I'll be flying before I take off.

The thing is that to control that you need to use another channel that you can't use for the modes etc.
The only one I could see a pont would be the change of font between betaflight or inav but this is only on goggles side

I was not talking about changing it mid flight (although you can on analog with an aux channel like you mentioned). Like the OP, I was thinking about setting things on your radio with the ELRS lua script beforehand, which is easier than navigating the UI with the joystick IMP, and if it’s setup correctly, you coukd even set things up with you quad unplugged, and the settings will be applied on boot, which is useful when flying with other pilots so you don’t blast them when you plug your quad.
