#Who chooses what is good what is evil?

As a non-religious person, I determine what's right or wrong by trusting my instincts, relying on common sense, and taking into account the general consensus and my own personal beliefs. I believe in the importance of kindness, fairness, justice, and human rights, and I make decisions based on logical reasoning and evidence.
God chooses what is good and what is evil. Us humans being part of God, means that we get to choose a tiny little bit what is good and what is evil but it is so highly reliant on what God has been orchestrating, that it is fundamentally God’s ‘choice’. As we grow stronger and thrive/prosper and expand into the universe, we have the opportunity to become closer and closer with God and gradually play a bigger part in choosing what is right and wrong, but it will always be more God’s choice than ours. Sometimes there are prophets who help in presenting to people, with great attention to detail, what is right and wrong. Just like Lars was enumerating, these prophets use instincts, common sense and logic. And they also use imagination and a high curiosity and awareness of the world around them and all of it’s parts to get a better picture (they peer into God). On top of this, they use the wisdom of the prophets that came before them, they cook all that up into a recipe fit with the current times, and present it to humanity. These prophets are all philosophers. Another thing I forgot to specify is that prophets also speak with their fellow human beings and animal friends and gain wisdom from them too. This means that all of us have a part to play in prophesying the future and what will be considered good and evil in our immediate and far future. Religions are built around these prophets. The quality of those religions depend a lot upon how many prophets those religions follow and what quality of prophets they follow, and how much they actually practice what they preach. In a sense, philosophers and scientists have formed the religion of science and it is our latest highest quality of religion. But the scientists who listen most to the wisdom of the prophets of the past and present (from all religions with the most fundamental prophets), are the scientists who create the best outcome on the long run.
I’d also like to add that you don’t need to believe in God in order to recognize what is right and wrong. It’s just that it can help a whole lot to get you less confused about the whole thing. That is if you are not being misled by mis-information and false prophets (like all of them sect leaders who lead people to no good).
say you have two men, one says killing people is right and the other says killing people is wrong. With out God saying that it is wrong. How do you know that the guy saying that killing people is wrong
I get what you are saying and it makes a lot of sense, maybe I’m just small braining right now but I can’t grasp the concept of relying on humans to say what is right and what is wrong. If we are all born equal which if you are Christian or not or any other religion most people believe we are created equal. So how do we as humans understand what is right and wrong if humans choose especially when two people have very different beliefs? It seems to me it just becomes a popularity vote among us that chooses what is right and wrong. Which is very dangerous.
Yes, we humans are all equal. Each one of us is also of equal intelligence. We all have the same ability to acquire knowledge and skills. Whether one is blocked from allowing that ability to function properly, is complex but it’s very influenced by the sort of environment you surround yourself with. Even if you are imprisoned, you can go deep within and allow yourself to focus on the environment of the deep kingdom of your body/mind/soul and God and grow spiritually. Exchanging words and communicating, although powerful, is not a measure of intelligence. Intelligence takes all forms into account. And your question is a great one. How do we know who to listen to? Open all barriers of your body mind and soul and truly listen to God/The universe/ People, Animals, religion, science, philosophy and everything in between. Ask others, who are doing the same, for help. Free your mind. But on this quest, be careful, it can become a dangerous one, so only go as far and as boldly as you need to so as to not put your loved ones and fellow human beings in danger. But if you go deep enough, you understand that certain sacrifices are worth it (Just like the sacrifice a father makes for his family). I don’t want this to get political, but there are definitely good and bad leaders and sadly, a lot of bad right now. But it’s a sign that great change is coming.
What is good and what is evil is relative to where and when. Where in the world you are, and when in history. You take the general consensus of morality of the population and that is what is determined to be right and wrong. This is generally accepted in philosophy. Is it ok to eat dogs? At one point in time and history it was common and normal. Today, not so common.
I see your point but Idk if anyone says eating dog is objectively evil.
There are people in Africa specifically there to stop people from eating dogs and to start treating dogs like we do in the US. Eating dogs now is objectively wrong to the human eyes and mind in this day in age in America atleast. But also I want to say that if you are starving and a dog is all you have to kill and eat I think that is fine because I put humans way above animals, but there are people who see animals as equals.
