#US Politics. Whew!

so Yeah needless to say I pray if it comes between him and Desantis Trump wins Unfortunately you are correct Desantis is the favored candidate both by the republican party and by most early polls
You're right I don't know the full extent with Desantis... though I know enough about his war with Disney to know he's more socially conservative than Trump. Although advocating defaulting is a policy that feels far-left (by which I mean significantly to the left of even Sanders). I can get how someone on the far right could reach that conclusion but yeah, proper crazy.
Im not sure I agree that he points out how corrupt things are (at the very least thats not his reason for being)
I think more he screams corruption and points in every direction that isn’t him
More often than not he’s correct, that’s just the state of our political system
Other times he’s blatantly wrong and its evident that he is simply throwing darts at a board
Like the 2020 election
That is what im saying
Both parties push each other away, and that just locks down their voter base
Biden isnt about to keel over in the next year lol
I am in florida
In fairness i do not keep up much with politics now
But yeah, desantis is an odd one
Very much authoritarian
And dangerous social policies
Statistically he is
The average american lives to 78
He is well past that point
He is more likely to die in the next 4 years than live
Especially with his dementia
That he definitely has
Regarding defaulting being far left your totally wrong its an extremely far right policy
I’m a bit late to this, but the gun argument has become too focused and has forgotten the big picture. ie, like a motor vehicle, you should be registered to use something that is inherently dangerous. Banning or confiscation does nothing, because then only major criminals have weapons. Major Criminals (those who break complex and significant law) obviously don’t care about breaking the law. But if you were to sit for just a second and think, do you need a fully automatic weapon to hunt deer? Defending a home is much easier with a shotgun, redecorating as they say is easier. People like to play both sides, but what if you just agreed? Instead of hyper-focusing on a microcosm in a very large macro world, maybe we should be more focused on people understanding the difference between a right and a privilege. You don’t have the right to drive, it is a privilege and requires registration of the vehicle and driver. Also, the vehicle and driver must be insured. Maybe we should do the same for firearms? Have insurance and a registration? I have to insure and register to buy a house, and sure a house can’t be loaded and fired (that would be hilarious), but I have to nonetheless.
Having a fully automatic weapon isn't a great option for hunting deer, but it is for fighting tyranny.
What tyranny lol
Corporations controlling the political machine?
Tyranny of removing protections against exploitation of child labor?
Tyranny of politicians rewriting law to be allowed to, in essence, ignore any opposition?
Tyranny of social conservatism and the restriction of the freedom of expression?
Fully automatic weapons have done nothing against that
The tyranny you refer to isnt going to happen
Regardless of whether im strapped to the teeth with firearms or not
However they have allowed for the tyranny of mal actors to take life as they see fit, at a much greater rate than if they were not in the hands of said actors
And thats just fact
Im not even opposed to possession of firearms either
But the argument that the second amendment is the last bastion standing between the American Democracy™️ and an oppressive dictatorship isn’t based in reality
Hell you could argue its the people who DONT want any gun restrictions in place that are the closest to fitting the bill for tyrannical behavior
Desantis case in point
