I think it mostly just comes down to the context for them. Someone could create a script and make the game look like native gta 5. But that script could make the peds do some wild stuff like nsfw anims or inappropriate voicelines that when spread to people who don't know about fivem just assume its part of gta 5 and then the backlash or whatever comes from that falls on rockstar
