#Select arrival gate before landing based off flightplan

Please read the pinned post and make it more detailed. What do you expect GSX to do and when?

Do you mean, GSX should "auto select your gate" based on your flight plan? If so, I agree.
GSX does not auto-select any gates, why would it? But I don't think it's what this request is about, judging by the messages in #general-chat
That's why it is so important to phrase the request with detail...
No, when selecting the arrival gate, instead of basing selections off of proximity to airport, it should prioritize the arrival airport of your flight plan.
Ah, that would be better
Autoselection could be an option too
I primarily fly on Vatsim, and they never assign a gate. I would like GSX to pick the appropriate gate for me based on my chosen airline and arrival airport. If I arrive at the gate and it's occupied, I should be able to select "occupied" and be rerouted to another gate
Showing your planned arrival airport on top - definitely a good idea
Autoselecting it - what if you're diverting somewhere and you want to choose a gate before landing and GSX autoselects your planned airport instead of the one you're diverting to?
That why I think autoselect should be an option...or maybe it only engages when below 10000 or something.
Doesn't it do it already
Nope and since automatically selecting gates is far from trivial I don't see the big deal of choosing a gate yourself. What use would it be if GSX randomly picks a gate in the cargo apron for your pax flight?
Offering the destination airport from simbrief even if further away than the 20nm range and showing it in front on the list makes sense.
I think planned destination airport is at top isn't it
Even if it's out of range?
I can get it at 9000
The question was that it should be selectable beyond the current restrictions, basically after departure so that the destination is always offered in the list at first position
This is what I'm suggesting...mostly so you can go ahead and set your arrival gate before descending into busy airspace where you may be focused on navigating.
Yeah, I personally wouldn't need it since I'm selecting at after landing while taxiing when I know which spot I'll get and it's not that stressful at that point in flight.
But technically GSX should be able to allow the selection at any point in flight since the destination is known.
This is incorrect. If you have ATC most of the times you're assigned a gate (at least in Europe)
Yep, it's regionally different.
Looks like this was implemented!
implemented already,? so how does it auto select the nearest gate upon arrival ?
