#I have a question about how this is all

I realize it's confusing... It's not uncommon for users to have multiple Google accounts (for Gmail or other reasons).

I recommend keeping your different Google accounts separate by leveraging Chrome Profiles that are logged in to a single Google account. This makes it easier to consistently use just one account.

In the case of the notebook, it should be logged in to the same account that has access to Google Cloud.

Hey @barren jungle I am having a similar problem with the added confusion that both my business account and a student account (via qwiklabs for GenAI School ) seem to be connected to Google Cloud

Hello @sand pine and @urban solar we might need to get together in a screen-sharing session to see what's going on.

The trick to authenticating the code in the notebook should be that it opens up a new window allowing you to login and authorize the code in the notebook to connect to your GCP account.

That said, you can always use AI Studio API Keys instead. Simply delete the PROJECT ID from the Colab and use Colab Secrets to store the AI Studio API key.

I have instructions in the notebook.

Let me know if you prefer to get together virtually. I'm based in the West Coast and am available tomorrow (Friday) after 11am.

Thank you very much for the offer - I am available at 11 am Pacific Time for about half an hour, so if that would work for you, that would be great for me.
