Hello @void mist , we usually promote our Google developer community Discord server in some newsletters. If you have any idea, we're all ears!
cc: @leaden wadi @outer fossil
I'm also wondering what the precise question is here. If you are interested in organizing or participating in events in the real world then maybe the GDG program is the right fit for you? https://developers.google.com/community/gdg
No @leaden wadi what I am asking is that , @dense bramble gave us access to be hosting events online using the Google Developers Community Online.
And I know we can use that platform to host event "Online "only
but my question is , can I go beyond that by hosting a physical event, or I should stick to the online events which is the main reason why the Google Developers Community Online was formed .
I stand to be correct though
@void mist, do you mean our Bevy chapter?
Our Google developer community online chapter is predominantly dedicated to online events. However, if you'd like to set up the in-person event you are more than welcome to, but we would love to see an** online component** to these events. This could be, for example, that you'll make it hybrid, if you would stream it to some platform of your choice.
Yep that' what I am talking about please
Sure thank you very much. will do as instructed please
@void mist We did here in Cincy, inviting more than just Developers- with the intent to engage regular folks to give it a try. Though we have ample sponsorships which will literally entice anyone. Our Fountain Square (owned by a Sponsor for our swag; 5/3 Bank)- has a giant outdoor screen with speakers so loud you need earplugs
.
Thank @scarlet cosmos
You're welcome! If you live in a metropolis that is sociably liberal (nonpolitical liberal) - the likelihood of big companies stepping in to help - they're not going to refuse to help or participate. (but hey, we ride air balloon bumper cars down our streets in the winter lol). If you are uncertain about a company, look up their values and see which ones you can match to Google's definition of DEI. Contact your local news (TV) reporters via email to let them know, "hey can you do a 2 min story on this please?" 99% will say yes.
maybe I can communicate with you personally to help me do this or give me the roadmap lol
what do you think sir?
Yes! Feel free- my inbox is always open to y'all.
Sorry I didnt see this yesterday.
