Vite & React for frontend 💯

Backends

  • Mainly Express
  • Flask / Quart for quick set it and forget it backends (though Quart scales very well)
  • I've recently been using Spring Boot and I like the safety it has, and I think I'll be using more of it than Express
  • Looking into Go & gRPC, awesome language with an awesome RPC

Database

  • Postgres database most of the time
  • SQLite if I just want a quick database to add to a small experimental project (though it's rather capable)

API (?), RPC (with gRPC), REST

I've used NextJS and even messed around with T3, just not that great of an experience and it's too convoluted. I want to make a frontend and a backend. Not a hellish mix of both with "use client"; "use server"; 🤮

I ended up leaving behind NextJS due to the huge bundle sizes and found Vite, which I've never left
