last times I've seen that it had to do with the email linked to their account not being verified, or something like that
can't say for sure though since it's more of a discord issue

yeah idk then I've seen that like 3 times and each time it was cause of that sortof thing
could also be that you're logged in on a different discord account in your browser, like if at some point you opened the browser version and it directly put you in discord with a new temporary account, instead of asking you to login
at least I've seen a bunch of times people logging in with another account without realizing it
