Probably will help a lot, because as the announcement said, console players needed to be in parties with PC players in order to find games. Now they can just queue on their own, which expands the potential amount of players searching for games.

if they want to fix it they need to lock everyone in oce to oce for like, 2 weeks, at this point its not a lack of players its just that everyone went to asia when it was dead, the OCE community has grown majorly since early release

the finals have 20k players online right now and monthly average of 40k, 20% are OCE and yet cant find matches on OCE, why? because theyre all on asia, because the oce pop was small on launch but has grown since, if they locked OCE players to OCE for first 5/10 mins of que, the issue would be somewhat resolved. look all we know is we got like 50-60 people all queuing oce and could still not find a lobby, thats more than is required for a match so region locking may sound like a good idea in theory but when we have literally tried with more than enough people oce still wouldnt load us in a game. Not sure the reason behind why this is but I feel for the time being, the only way oce players can enjoy the game is through Asia or NA servers.

When the oce playerbase isnt large enough for SBMM as is i dont see how region locking would work unless there was a change to the range in which ranks can play together but that defeats the purpose aye. and to answer your question @scenic fern no, its not just the low ranks, its all of them at this point unfortunately. we just need them to release a change to tournament, by reducing the rounds by 1 to literally halve the amount of players needed for a match which could inadvertently tighten the SBMM also.

whilst i believe working on the cheater problem is something that needs to be pursued, I believe the MM issues probably take precedent. making it easier to find games would help the game feel more alive. then focusing more on anticheat or improving on the reporting system in place to better allow the devs to locate and ban the cheaters. they need more transparency when it comes to the actions that are being taken against them too so that we dont feel left in the dark and that our reports are going to good use.

The nuke meta deterred alot of players in the beginning because of how overused it was. as well as the release of popular games such as Palworld, alo of players moved on and didnt come back because they havent been up to date with the balance changes. Popular streamers playing games is a bi product of making a fun/engaging and rewarding game.

1, remove one round from competitive to lower the player count per game from 48 to 24.

2, create a new top 500 rank (litterally make a nice shiny badge) and cool intro emote That's it

3, have atleast 1 person in each region that plays ranked manually banning cheaters they come across, this could be embark Employee or give this power to popular/respected streamers as they wouldn't abuse it, and would stream the game knowing they can ban any rage hackers they come across

4, add UI indicating the amount of players currently in queue in your skill bracket

Lowering the player count is the best bet as there wouldn't need to be much technical work to make it happen, the rest should come in a new season update to bring this game back to its former glory

The game has a tight matchmaking rules, so if 3 diamond players were to queue together they would need 45 other diamond ranked players to queue. which would be impossible at this stage

but if most people solo queue, the game will be able to create its own "fair team" pairing up the diamond rank with a silver, and allowing for the best chance to create a "fair match"
