Embark condemned this game a long time ago, this is the state of the game. The matchmaking of Season 2 has been a topic of discussion, but instead of focusing on that aspect, they prefer to invest time in the store or prepare a TGM event for 100 people. The game is in an irreversible state regarding matchmaking due to the number of players it has; to make a fair system, queue times would be like 10 hours or something. The time to fix the matchmaking system passed a long time ago; when they had time to do it, they didn't, they were entertained with other things. I understand that the team analyzing the data in relation to the supposed matchmaking was probably entertained watching Netflix while their paycheck arrived.
The situation is what it is, there's no going back, the game is doomed. And so I said before:
Game in the deepest decadence:
No matchmaking, the most unfair system the video game industry has created is the most appalling thing I have ever seen.
Soft cheats.
Smurfs.
No bans (a real bans).
No room for solo queue.
Server performance on the same level as watching a Commodore 64 run Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Keep focusing on preparing a great and successful TGM26, this is the most important thing for keeping the game alive.

There's something wrong with the spawns
I get thrown into third parties all the time or I get spawned very far away from the final cashout with 30 seconds to get there which is impossible
Embark please I beg if you see this, taking away the ranked charms and stickers and giving it to the world tour emerald grind track is dumb. taking those rewards away from people that work hard to get to those ranks in ranked is ridiculous. Donāt get me wrong Iām all for making everyone feel included and like they have something to be proud of but at least take this into consideration. Give the hexagonal charms and stickers back to ranked and make the casual world tour charms the circular ones that used to be from quick play then everyone gets them and the people who work hard and grind in ranked get all the rewards they deserve and give them something that is universal and that they can put on every weapon/gadget. I donāt know about everyone else but I was proud to have hit plat in my 2nd season and was hella pissed when I didnāt get a sticker or charm to show off and I can imagine others are too. Again Iām all of making everyone feel included and happy but making it so I have to hit dia in ranked amd world tour and then stop playing so I donāt hit emerald if I want the dia badge and then on top of that not getting my emerald isnt fair. PLEASE MAKE THE WT CHARMS ROUND AND GIVE THE HEXAGONAL ONES BACK TO RANKED

Winch is on the same level of crutch as recon & stun gun. Embark really doesnāt know what theyāre doing tbh. I think a reasonable compromise would be to at least make it so that you can still shoot at a heavy while being winched. The stun lock behavior of winch is definitely the most abused aspect of it, while I do support its viability to move/defend cashouts.

Y'all, i gotta be real...
I fucking love this game. I'd go as far as to say it's my third favourite EVER. But there's two main problems problem that keeps driving me (and many of you) away:
FOMO: Battle Passes, LTMs, seasonal rewards, etc. etc. just put the game at an ungodly level of grindy. If it reduced FOMO even slightly I wouldn't mind shelling out another £35 ($40) for this game like ARC Raiders.
Anti-Casual Systems: How time-consuming the above are, and the extreme competitiveness of every match regardless of mode. It feels like I'm an average Joe put in the Olympics most times, and it's simply not fun.
Fix your game, Embark. Please, for us all.
head2head ranked solves griefing, unbalanced matches, inflated ranks, innaccurate seeding, third partying, and slow queue times at high ranks

Please make the Anti-Gravity Cube lift objects and players 1.5 to 2.0 times faster. That way it can have a little more tech and stall potential. I love heavy but having the same 3 gadgets be meta for 10 seasons is getting a bit stale.
Just make the ranked system this, Embark. It keeps Cashout and Final Round as core gamemodes but reduces the effects of griefing and allows players to rank up faster if they've got mastery of both gamemodes (or derank faster if they're particularly struggling)
POV you are lvl 130+ and want a casual game.
The finals: Throws you into a game that is 5 minutes till end with 2 lvl 1 light players.
Embark. Fix Your Match Friggin' Making.
And don't push people into already lost games, make people WAIT till a new game is available instead of cultivating FRUSTRATION.

Def the best option to entirely remove the stun - itās still insanely valuable for cashout manipulation, and if playing tight together itās still a free kill for the heavy who lands the winch.
Removing the stun will however make it so that landing the winch doesnāt basically gift you a free kill in a 1v1 scenario
Purely CC with no stun is the right place to take winch, maybe give it more range to compensate

Ever since Respec Order (even after it's done) casual play has been crawling with sweats and when I log into play my first game casual, and I spend 80% of the game just waiting for a revive, and then 5 seconds alive before I get ripped apart and so is everyone else in my team, game after game, lobby after lobby, I don't know what the hell is going on, but maybe it's just more of a community thing. I started playing this game because it was fun, and it has stopped being that in the past few weeks

First of all, thank you for the very, very beautiful game. However, I have just one problem: separating PvP from PvE and making it possible to switch between them would be helpful. We face a problem with treachery; we want to know if we are with enemies or friends. I love the spirit of cooperation and friendship. Playing together to kill ark is fun, and I also respect people who like PvP, but please make it possible to switch between PvP and PvE. I also hope that in PvE mode, players cannot kill other players. This is just a suggestion, and people will enjoy the game even more if this idea is implemented. Thank you.

Yo Embark wtf man I just had a ranked game where my teammate disconnected early in the round, then reconnected and we still had a leaving penalty point loss and a ban can you explain and maybe make up for it
If you can get the player counts to make it work, another option to consider for Ranked:
- Two Ranked modes: Ranked Final Round (3v3s) and Ranked Cashout (12s)
- Abandon the tournament format, each becomes a single round mode
- Each Ranked mode has their own leaderboard
- Make it possible to earn Ruby in either or both
- Keep it simple
The gameshow conceit is great lore and wonderful for unranked World Tour Cashout Tournaments, possibly even for official esports, but why be so insistent on these overly elaborate tournaments when people just want to compete and see where they stack up?
As it is, you can see the problems with Cashout in competitive play already, and griefing is the least of it. Teaming is already a problem and will likely end up becoming even more so.
Incidentally, if there was one good thing about the Season 3 Terminal Attack Ranked experience it was simply going in and having one head-to-head match.
Fix Match-making and Quickplay before your player-base implodes due to the frustrations you cause by allowing players to do things like leave matches and rejoin constantly. Even I do it, because these matches are stupid. How can you have absolutely zero punishment for leaving Quickplay matches? Anything to prevent this silliness.

I am once again asking for loss protection in ranked lobbies when a teammate disconnects or leaves. I understand banning them does something but it does nothing to help those who have been hurt by their actions.

Add wallrunning and double jumps for all so everyone can move around the arena like the Pilots from Titanfall 2.

Add Rocket Jumping and Grenade jumping by giving all explosives knockback on self, so that players can move around the map like Soldier and Demoman from Team Fortress 2.

Similar to both of these games, add an auxillary weapon slot that takes up 2 equipment slots. So you have the option to either have 1 weapon and 4 gadgets as usual, or instead carry 2 weapons and 2 gadgets similar to these games as well as basically all the popular FPS on the market. After all, Finals is notorious for being extremely hard to pick up for newcomers, this would significantly help in accomodating them.

Combine Starlight Hollow with PEACE Center and place a castle in the middle of it, and turn the 2 unpopular and underutilized maps into 1 proper Cashout map with a forest biome. Add some ramparts and rocks around to make it less campy.

Give Pike .556 to Heavy class. Pike is currently the weakest weapon on Medium, superceded by Repeater and Crossbow in their own ways making it an inferior choice over them in every way. Giving it to Heavy class means Heavy would finally have an actual Marksman class weapon with scope, and since Heavy's potential as poke class is already pretty bad, a bad poke weapon like Pike would be more useful on Heavy than Medium or Light class.

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed
Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.
Ranked reset should be majorly reworked to keep rubies/diamonds in diamond. The first half of the season sucks so much every time because you deliberately erase the skill ratings of high skill players and shove them all into gold/low plat. Just make the ranked rewards into "win X ___ rank tournaments" and we'll enjoy competitive matches for the whole season.
Give medium full auto M16 that rivel Fcar ( we don't talk about AKM, because if the dislike gun by embork (jk))

Couple of QOL/community features.
Wish we had access to more weapon and gadget stats; I want to know my playtime, accuracy, headshots with weapons, uses and damage blocked with gadgets, how many quick melee elims we have, and just more concise breakdowns on the career stats in general? Why isnāt assists a metric we are able to see? And vault steals/plugs?
Now I know they have this ā8 billion points of dataā it irks me how little we have access to, knowing that such a simple thing like a little more data can go a long way with players.
Club highlights, club colour scheme and some simple generic club colour cosmetics, club hub where you can browse recruiting clubs or filter type of club e.g competitive, social, game mode specific. Maybe thereās a highlights page in there where club clips, screenshots and community highlights can be seen.
Itās lore accurate too because surely in a VR world even outside of VR in a sport/contest setting there would be some sort of central hub. You could put all sorts in there: fashion/cosmetic contests and ways for people to post/rate those, private match server list where you can list/see games maybe even spectate, iād love to be able to spectate some games whilst I am afk, could even have twitch feeds of partners.
We needs DMs for friends, even if it is locked to generic replies like āI am unable to play at the momentā āI will join you next gameā āThanks for the gamesā if they want to limit social freedoms for the potential abusers.
Let us change scopes in practice range and maybe casual modes, having to leave and restart the range just to change scope seems really inefficient and breaks the fluidity of the game.

I've been experiencing a weird bug with Medium shotguns lately. It's rare, but they'll automatically fire a shot when I stop sprinting. With the Model it's whatever, but this really hurts when I'm using the Cerberus and I lose 1/3rd of my killing potential out of nowhere.

Improve Ranked Matchmaking for Veterans
High-level Ranked matches are currently being filled with brand-new players. This creates an unfair and frustrating experience for everyone.
My Proposal:
Please implement a separate "New Player Queue" or specific servers for beginners until they reach a certain career level. Ranked mode should be kept for players who have mastered the basics to maintain competitive integrity.
We love the game and want to keep playing, but the current matchmaking is driving dedicated players away. Thank you!

Also ranked, i literally have games passed week with four different divisions in one tourney.. diamond, platinum,gold and silver, even gold to ruby in one tourney(asia server). Oh yes lets make another version for chinese people, cut half the player base in for asia and let the rest bleed dry, also let the chinese developers make a game with cooler more affordable skins. Honestly the last year hasnt been great and the last half year is quite horrible. I still enjoy ranked matches but the inconsistency in matchmaking is going to kill this game

How to correctly balance the 93R
The recent 93R changes made it an overpowered light deleter while having basically no effect on the classes it struggles against, which are medium and heavy. Hence, Embark needs to look at other ways to balance it rather than altering the damage.
This can be done by making the burst delay shorter, which will make it more viable against ALL classes while not making it overpowered versus lights.
Proposed 93R changes:
RPM - 1000 (current cycle rate)
Damage: 24** (revert from 25 back to 24)**
Burst delay: 0,284s > 0,235s (RPM 210 -> 260)
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,52s -> ~ ** 0,71s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.21s -> ~ 1,12s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.68s -> ~ 1,54s (15 shots)
Head:
light: 0.40s -> ~ 0,415s (5 shots)
medium: 0.81s -> ~ 0,71s (7 shots)
heavy: 1.21s -> ~ 1,065s (10 shots)
Damage drop-off minimum range: 30m ->** 27m**
Damage drop-off maximum range: 37.5m ->** 34.5m**
Damage Dropoff Modifier @ Max Range: 50%** (it stays the same)**
Keep the mag size at** 21** to preserve the 93R's punishing nature.
These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R (except light). This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
I feel the need to mention that the 93R had these TTKs in this proposal until patch 2.9.0, yet it wasn't used because of its high recoil and lower range than the XP-54 at the time. So it wouldn't be an unprecedented change. We now have better range and lower recoil, so now is the time to truly balance this weapon once and for all.
I use the cl-40 and only using that got to diamond with it
the weapon lacks any ttk on other M & H (this is fine btw)
( keep in mind the only weapon the cl-40 will have a better ttk is when fighting a pike when in a MVM match up)
But if u want to reward more direct shots increase the velocity of the shots and maybe make the cycle animation to be slightly faster i am fine with less splash damage but plz then make it more in line with what u have said for wanting direct hits with it
Dev Note: The CL-40ās effectiveness is not great compared to many other Medium weapons. We know facing the CL is frustrating for some players, so we want to be careful with how much we buff it, but these changes are needed to increase its viability. The aim is to incentivize more direct hits with the CL-40, rather than less accurate splash damage shots.

Add an auxillary weapon slot for all classes, with any of the following restrictions:

Takes up 2 equipment slots so players get 2 weapons and 2 gadgets like every other multiplayer FPS and making it easier to pick up for newcomers from those games, or

60 second cooldown+Empty reload on weapon swap to make sure players stay back when running out of ammo instead of pushing in with the 2nd weapon, or
-
Equipped as a gadget with only 1 mag in reserve and 60 second cooldown for a new mag to make it usable only during critical moments
-
Only shotguns, melee weapons and grenade launchers available for that slot making it more niche and limiting it's versatility
More than one restrictions may be needed, however an auxillary weapon slot is necessary for the game. An extra weapon slot would make offmeta, niche weapons more useful outside solo queue and would make weapon balancing much less annoying, as too many weapons depend on unfair exploits to be usable by the average player without team coordination. While team coordination would make this even more powerful, overall everyone would be more powerful with available counterplays to make up for their own and team's weakness, making the game more fair for everyone. Everyone gets more powerful, so overall balance stays intact while also reducing dependency on teammates for critical wins.

My sword rework idea:
A) a mechanic where either perfectly timed swings would have an audio/visual queue and do higher damage, and/or if there was a "sweet spot" on the weapon where if I'm hitting someone with the tip I do more damage than if I'm hitting with the hilt.
B) Another thing you could do with it is maybe give it combos and more animations, ie cancelling the lunge with a swing does a different animation, or swinging from crouch/slide/air does different animations and different damage. Leading to several different optimized kill combos for different classes based on how you entered.

Welp I didn't think I could do it but I finally uninstalled, I first played in season one and have played consistently since season 3. It really saddens me but this game brings me nothing but pain anymore lost the fun factor through all the diamond-ruby ranked/tryhards in "casual", smurfs, stale meta, unreasonable nerfs/buffs and terrible matchmaking. I question Embark's intentions or care for this game nowadays having more cosmetics (generally reskins/recolors) added to the game than actual content or fixes for known issues. Most of my friends have quit for similar reasons that or the issues with the game won't allow them to play anymore due to their lower hardware. Again I loved this game and what it was but considering most times I play it at least in recent seasons I find it hard to relax and enjoy the game, I still wish to play The Finals as there is no other game like it and the gunplay/destructible environments are amazing but it has simply left me with a stockholme syndrome kinda feeling. Again I wish the best for The Finals and its future but as of now it just ain't worth the increase in cortisol and the constant hopium that next season will be better just to be likely disappointed again. I hope to return one day but as of now I don't see that being likely, for now though have a good one yall.

I don't speak much English, but here goes. Iāve noticedāand I get the feeling you already know thisāthat the game has a serious issue with character rendering. When you get killed, the FPS skyrockets even if youāre loading the map (with most graphics settings on low, actually, except for rendering, which is on high, of course), and there are enemies around you, and just being in spectator mode boosts the FPS a ton. They should look into that and see whatās going on, and if they fix it, maybe The Finals could reach more computers, where people canāt always afford more powerful hardware. I honestly donāt know if this is the specific issue, but the moment your character is eliminated and switches to spectator mode, the FPS skyrockets. š

this might be a bit of a hot take, but i think that the cashbox should have some overtime while its being stolen to make it possible to get a steal in the last few seconds of the cashbox. those last few seconds always end up being weird and just creates some downtime where the box doesn't even need to be defended, and its annoying when you get a team wipe but dont have enough time to finish the steal on the box. having some overtime can make the system feel more intuitive and also would make the last few seconds actually matter to defend the box

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed
Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.
Give me my money back Iāve spent so much money on the game š

How to correctly balance the 93R
The recent 93R changes made it an overpowered light deleter while having basically no effect on the classes it struggles against, which are medium and heavy. Hence, Embark needs to look at other ways to balance it rather than altering the damage.
This can be done by making the burst delay shorter, which will make it more viable against ALL classes while not making it overpowered versus lights.
Proposed 93R changes:
RPM - 1000 (current cycle rate)
Damage: 24** (revert from 25 back to 24)**
Burst delay: 0,284s > 0,235s (RPM 210 -> 260)
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,52s -> ~ ** 0,71s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.21s -> ~ 1,12s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.68s -> ~ 1,54s (15 shots)
Head:
light: 0.40s -> ~ 0,415s (5 shots)
medium: 0.81s -> ~ 0,71s (7 shots)
heavy: 1.21s -> ~ 1,065s (10 shots)
Damage drop-off minimum range: 30m ->** 27m**
Damage drop-off maximum range: 37.5m ->** 34.5m**
Damage Dropoff Modifier @ Max Range: 50%** (it stays the same)**
Keep the mag size at** 21** to preserve the 93R's punishing nature.
These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R (except light). This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
I feel the need to mention that the 93R had these TTKs in this proposal until patch 2.9.0, yet it wasn't used because of its high recoil and lower range than the XP-54 at the time. So it wouldn't be an unprecedented change. We now have better range and lower recoil, so now is the time to truly balance this weapon once and for all.

Goo even not that popular, yet it still get nerfed for some reason, making complex gameplay less viable, while making one-shot dumb tactics more and more reliable. This update has some wās but also some questionable changes:
Vanish bomb nerf is very good having invis and dash is insanely broke and Iād much rather a rework to vanish bomb to something else to reduce the amount of invis in the game
M11 nerf is questionable the gun already required good recoil control for range kills and decent aim up close, it was still outclassed by xp, v9s, 93r, lh1 etc
Shockwave being reverted so you can do movement tech is amazing generally keep this idea in mind when balancing more things with tech (tech = skill expression itās a lot more fun for players to have skill expression in the game other wise the game becomes cod 218375 )
No winch nerf is very upsetting as it by a mile out classes all heavy specs thanks to it almost guaranteeing a free kill /dmg, proposed change would be to remove the stun and/or nerf the range, it should not be a spec you throw out instantly in every fight (thatās a crutch and no one likes crutches)

They buffed the XP by 1 damage a season or two ago and it was immediately OP. If anything they could potentially increase effective range by changing the damage dropoff distance, but damage needs to stay where itās currently at.
Hard agree that winch needs a nerf, itās too frequently a free win button in a 1v1 like charge and slam used to be (back when it did 130dmg per hit).
I think the ideal change is to entirely remove the winch stun and instead give it back some range or slight cooldown buff - that way itās still massively useful as a cashout manipulation and CC tool, but doesnāt gift you the 1v1.
There will still be scenarios where the winch is basically an instant kill, but at the very least the winching heavy needs to have teammates right next to him to pull this off.

On top of this, the thing they were trying to nerf, which is using a whole magazine to stall someone is still doable. The biggest impact this has is still on using goo gun with close range weapons to close the gap. They COULD have done what every goo gun player has been suggesting and have each consecutive goo stun on the same player stun for less time, but instead we just get a major nerf to the least used specialization in the game, but of course when nerfing the m11, they make sure to also give it a minimum range buff to make sure it remains the most used light weapon.

Goo stun is a genuine non-issue since only loadout that relies on it is goo sledge, and sledge is a melee weapon where they have to put in insane amounts of effort just to stay alive. There will always be people complaining no matter what. But its much better to have a game in which the fun things still exist even if a few people complain about something that is literally just skill issue.
- Bring back Head2Head. Quick Cash is a terrible game mode in general. Getting 3rd partied is the absolute most frustrating thing in this game, why would I want to play a mode that is solely about 3rd parties?? Head2Head was a lot shorter, more fun, great for warming up, trying out new loadouts, practicing final round, etc...
- Increase your marketing budget by at least a dollar, PLEASE.
- Ban smurfs.
- Make it so that rubies can ONLY queue up with and against other rubies or diamonds. Ruby should be an exclusive league where only the truly best are. No Ruby should be queueing up with golds in order to boost and be paired up with plats. It's not fun for the rubies since it's not challenging, and its not fun for the rest of the player base. Rubies, plats, golds, and gold should NEVER be in the same game. No exceptions.
The matchmaking in this game is absolute hot garbage. Games are mostly one-sided. Embark, do you think you might see player growth if people didn't uninstall after their first couple of matches?

After reading the patch notes, Iām honestly surprised to see no changes regarding the winch.
Right now, itās extremely frustrating to play against: getting grabbed around corners, sometimes even through walls, often results in a free kill for the Heavy. It really needs some reworking to make it feel more consistent and fair to fight against.
The same goes for the Lightās Healing Infuser ā how has this still not been nerfed? Being able to fully heal a Heavy (or anyone else) in less than two seconds feels way too strong, especially in certain team compositions.

the game has lost its sandbox potential as they continuously nerf niche playstyles like goo (which by the way, was not oppressive, and there were dozens of proposed reworks but they refuse to indulge them in light of the competitive community which has the game by the neck)
speaking of, season 1 and open beta was significantly more fun than the current game and i wholely believe if they reverted the game to day one the playercounts would go up significantly, because with all of their pandering to the competitive community, theyve killed any ounce of tech and "fun factor" even if it was unbalanced because big surprise, not everyone wants a clean balanced game, sometimes people just want FUN, i remember when seeing a sledge player actually gave you a sense of "i should run" or lights actually felt like glass cannons so getting killed by them just incited anger i(in a good way imo) and killing them felt just that much better

Its a poor and frustrating experience for both long-time player and new player when you smoosh them together to form a team that never stands a chance against the enemy team due to them not having a new player. These guys spend 8 minutes struggling to do anything, possibly 2 kills in an entire TDM is normal to see from new players, with up to 12 deaths being normal, and 20-30 being ONLY uncommon to see if they're a Light that's especially pushing solo frequently. Youre creating a toxic environment where people just get frustrated with one another because skill isn't being considered at all.

Shockwave revert is fantastic, love to see the Vanish Bomb changes to further reinforce it as a team utility tool and not a selfish GOOJF (get out of jail free) option. Youāve acknowledged it cannibalizes the cloak spec, but do you have any idea of what changes the spec could have to make the two more distinct?

Really Embark?! So many of us wrote entire paragraphs explaining why changing goo from 0.8 to 0.2 was killing play styles. We offered solutions like ānerf the amo count on goo gun to prevent permanent goo stun,ā or āmaybe make it 0.6 seconds,ā but you didnāt listen at all. Nerfing it down to 0.35 just kills all sorts of play styles reliant on goo stun, including heavy melee, dagger, and heavyās defensive abilities with goo gun. There is now no point in running goo gun. The goo already breaks incredibly fast and now people could just rush a goo gun user and there is nothing they could do. The term āEvil Valveā really fits you guys the way that you eliminate cool and fun tech just for the sake of control.

played since 2nd beta, tired of the bad balancing with the destructive nerfs instead of preserving the dynamic gameplay. I uninstalled because of this recent 10.6 update and how much they really didn't care about the melee communities input on the stun mechanics. the community literally offered alternatives to nerf the goo gun, but nope lets just indirectly tear down goo grenades as well right? this sort of balancing has been constant since the start of my time playing this game and I think this balance philosophy that embark has is something that is destructive to its games. which makes me not want to touch another game made by embark if they keep killing whatever unique mechanics that are there intentional or not.

Hey embark you guys removed all of the dlc from the Xbox store and I've had the TFCP0005 error when purchasing since season 1. I've tried 3 times to get it fixed but your customer support is basically non existent and the one time I got past the AI to talk to a person they didn't even read the full convo and closed the ticket before i could ever even respond to them. The Xbox store was the only way I could purchase dlc packs for the game and now I am literally being told I am not allowed to give you money. It's really infuriating cause like I want to give you my damn money, money is in my hand, the skin is in your hands, just let me hand you my damn money. Now even the work around has been blocked so I am completely unable to just give you money for a skin.
In light of trying out the goo changes, I cannot believe you for some reason hate melees being used on off meta specs that you would destroy the goo+sledge combo so completely.
You seem to think that the only viable spec should be winch as you base all your melee changes on heavy based on the winch and every other combo gets caught in the crossfire. SO FOR SOME REASON making goo gun unviable with melee is your solution.
There were so many other ways to nerf goo stun chains and this definitely wasnt one of them.
If you actually listened to any goo heavy you would hear "yes i feel like i commit war crimes doing goo stun and there MIGHT need to be changes" and we would say something along the lines of "make subsequent goo stuns shorter and shorter if chained in a row" or even me suggesting we could just make goo blobs phase through players, preserving the length of a stun but making it harder to block the head, meaning to stop steals you'd have to goo the feet then stack another one on top to goo the head.
It is unbelievably obvious that you both do not know what or how to balance melee or even heavy and you dont even ask players if they have nerf suggestions.
and let me remind you about suvivorship bias as I go play overwatch and start to watch this game burn down as you make your "relaunch" which has started off terribly and I now believe you guys vibe code your updates considering how broken random BS is every time like slide and forgetting to add you tried to nerf shockwave.

Did anyone else experience an uptick in hackers yesterday? I was doing point break with friends and 5/6 of our matches had some obvious cheaters. I'd get headshot from across the map through like 3 layers of trees and they'd always know where you were even when invisible. We typically fight hackers like one game a day but yesterday was infuriating
you can tell Embark only cares about light when we get another event toting 5 weapon skins, but only 1 for heavy, 1 for medium, and THREE FOR LIGHT.
Why not make it 6, 2 skins for each class?

I was thinking of a rework for Turret that involves barrels for example you can pick up a fire barrel and insert it into and it becomes a turret that starts to shoot like fire like from flamethrower and that can happen with all the other barrels as well and for like the gas barrel in like a 8m 360° it spreads gas around itself so you can put it on top of cash out and it will admit gas from 8 m away 360° around it

Greetings Embark. I have been enjoying the game for the most part. There are a few issues that I think could use a little adjusting. First, a light with dash, cloaking, and swords is almost impossible to defend against. This is especially true if you are a new FPS player. This is the first FPS game I have played and have found that the 3-combo I mentioned is far too overpowered. If they had to do far more attacks to get a kill it might not be as bad. Next, I played as a heavy using the two pistols. I could not believe for a moment that I completely missed every shot from both guns at almost point blank range. I am starting to question the quality of the game when things like this happen. Along the same lines, I had an issue with the grenade launcher on the medium. I am not sure if that weapon was nerfed, but if I get someone down to two bars and land a shot at their feet, how are they supposed to walk away from that and kill me. I have been side-by-side with opponents and we are both low on health and a shot at the ground between us only kills me. Really? Please take a look at some of those weapons and their accuracy. Thanks for taking the time to read this, if you do.

The ranked system is genuinely awful right now. Itās basically just a grief simulator, especially once you get into high Plat to low Diamond and above. Your attempt at ādouble jeopardyā only made the griefing problem worse.
For example, if youāre in 2nd place with 32k cash and 1st place has 36k, you basically end up in a 1v3 against the rest of the lobby. The bottom two teams need a chance to qualify, so they focus on doubling your cashout, while the team in 1st also benefits from griefing you out to secure their spot. Because of that, a team that realistically doesnāt deserve to move on can suddenly qualify just because of a final-minute team-up situation.
A lot of competitive players would probably agree that this isnāt competitive or fair in any way. It makes no sense for the weakest teams in the lobby to still have a chance purely because they can temporarily āteamā with the team in 1st place.
On a completely different topic, why are there still 24 players in a ranked match when the game doesnāt even have 5k active ranked players? Then people wonder why matchmaking is so bad and why Gold players are getting matched against Rubies. Having two knockout rounds in a game with a relatively small ranked player base just doesnāt make sense.
This message isnāt meant as hate toward Embark at all. I genuinely love the game for what it is, and I think it has a ton of potential if the competitive scene gets fixed.

No, I don't mean the game itself when you enter spectator mode, as I mentioned beforeāsince your character isn't rendered, the FPS goes way up. What I mean is that in this area, we're losing significant FPS that could help improve in-game optimization, since not every PC runs this game really well, Anyway, to sum it up, I mean that if thereās a problem or whatever happens when your character is rendered and the FPS drops compared to spectator mode when you get wiped, you should investigate that and, if it can be improved, do so, since the game would be more suitable for those PCs that donāt run it quite as well.
Also, Iām using a Ryzen 7 7700, an RX 9060 XT, 16 GB of RAM, and of course the game is on an SSD, I have 16 GB of RAM and will be adding another 16 GB module soon.

There are waaaaaaaay too many suspicious low level accounts. Alternate/smurf account players need to be permanently banned across all accounts. Keeping cheaters and exploiters out of the game is what's going to bring this game over the top. Right now I can't trust that I players aren't exploiting when I see low level accounts like level 11, 16, 12, 4, and they are playing like a level 100+. Expert map knowledge, better than all the other 100+ level players in the same match. This is what's going to kill your game if you don't address this immediately.

By no means is range in this mode broken.. I've more often had easier time playing melee, than mage or ranger.
If u cant catch any lights, by just counter picking with a warrior, it's just a skill issue atp.
I've played this mode a lot, and it was clearly designed like RPG, need tank, healer and dps... And when that happens, it's the most fun!!

i've seen this bug before but it's really prominent now, almost every round, there's issues with player identities. in three rounds of the new game mode, i've seen
- multiple players named PLAYERNAME
- players on the opposing team named the same as me or my teammates
- multiple people on my team named the same thing
- player portraits at the end of the round copied from mine onto the other players, with just different backgrounds
none of these issues appear in the tab menu or bottom left, that's all fine - but the names above player heads, the before-round-start menu, etc, are broken as hell

I love the new LTM modeāit might be the best one since Heavy Hitters. Like Cashball was a good idea, but it depended so much on the matchmaking giving you a good team. Pretty much every match was a blowout. This mode has a lot more depth, and the matches donāt usually feel very one-sided. That said, I do think it could do with some improvements to the loadouts. Basically the Barbarian and Rogue are the meta. The Warrior is usable but not nearly as good, the Paladin is useful but highly situational and dependent on team comp, and the Mage is almost entirely useless. Not too sure of the best way to fix this but itās just kind of a shame that an entire loadout is never played and for good reason

Equipped as a gadget with only 1 mag in reserve and 60 second cooldown for a new mag to make it usable only during critical moments

Only shotguns, melee weapons and grenade launchers available for that slot making it more niche and limiting it's versatility
More than one restrictions may be needed, however an auxillary weapon slot is necessary for the game. An extra weapon slot would make offmeta, niche weapons more viable outside premade team comps and make weapon balancing much less annoying, since the secondary weapon would cover the shortcomings of the main weapon. Overall everyone would be more powerful with available counterplays to make up for their own and team's weakness, making the game more fair for everyone. Everyone gain an equal amount of power, so overall balance stays intact while also reducing frustrations of soloqueue and smurfs by improving individual player agency.

When defenders destroy all the cover, it becomes almost impossible for attackers to reach the vault.
I know it's not a huge deal, but I'm stoked about the round-end music for the new LTM. It's awesome! I hope that this will also be attached to the Season 10 map going forward, but I haven't tested to see if it is right now. Dragon's Claim is great!

the weapon lacks any ttk on other M & H (this is fine btw)
( keep in mind the only weapon the cl-40 will have a better ttk is when fighting a pike when in a MVM match up)
But if u want to reward more direct shots increase the velocity of the shots and maybe make the cycle animation to be slightly faster i am fine with less splash damage but plz then make it more in line with what u have said for wanting direct hits with it

All of this was not necessary but got a huge impact on the class. Meanwhile all the "buff" light are completly useless except maybe the 93R. M26 and SH buff are useless. XP buff is useless. Nullifier or grapple too.

The Spearās cap on player and non-player hits is a great direction towards buffing the spear. I believe that itās fine the way it is except for two very tiny and minor yet important changes that are both quality of life changes and indirect damage buffs.
- +8% movement speed to the current movement speed during the spin attack.
- 0.075s faster spin attack during the final swing.
For the first point, the speed cap during the spin attack is necessary; however, itās very difficult to push or pull away in fights as it keeps the spear player too stationary. As for the second point, the reason why I suggest a faster last hit in the spin attack is because there are many fights in which 0.15s or a 0.1s makes a difference. Iām suggest a 0.075s speed buff to give the player a better experience and a better chance at winning a fight or doing as much damage as possible. Thatās also not pushing it to being too fast,

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed
Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

I love the change of disabling trigger-hold delay on shotguns, but can we please apply this to the CL-40 as well? It constantly misfires because of this feature, and it's way more punishing than the shotguns because it often makes me damage myself
I play on console and the performance has been terrible lately. Whenever I get into a fight, the game freezes completely and only starts working again once Iāve already been killed. It happens most often in competitive modes like Ranked and Cash Out, which makes those modes almost unplayable.
When the game actually works, itās genuinely really fun, which makes the performance issues even more frustrating. Right now though, it feels impossible to enjoy a game thatās supposed to be competitive when freezes and lag decide fights before skill does.
At the moment, the experience feels badly optimised for console players. It honestly seems like the only people able to enjoy the game consistently are players with extremely high-end PCs and perfect internet. I really hope performance and stability become a bigger priority because the core gameplay has a lot of potential.

Adding a gadget or spec that is a deployable item that boosts movement speed and/or increases bullet dmg by a set percentage would be interesting.
It could be stationary or could be tethered to the player and effect everyone in an aoe.
Additionally, I also think a smaller throwable horizontal shield that functions like a dome shield for medium would be pretty cool. Of course it would have less hp and only covers one side instead of 360 degrees.

This game has a serious cheating and smurf/alt account problem. I see it every single day I play. Bran new accounts dominating everyone on both teams. Level 12s with 37 kills and 6 deaths against my level 120+ teammates who only had 5 kills. UPDATE YOUR ANTICHEAT AND BAN SMURF/ ALTERNATE ACCOUNTS. It's not possible that ONLY new players can get these kind of numbers in the games I'm playing. I had 3 people over level 100 on my team vs a level 13, 16, 27, 9 and 3, and nobody on my team had over 6 kills while all the low level new accounts on the other team had 10+ kills some over 20. Never using tracking but always popping up right behind all my teammates one after another like we're not even playing. The overall cheating and exploiting issues need to be fixed before Grand Majors. You can't expect to grow an audience/player base when ACTUAL new players have to compete against these low level cheating and exploiting accounts. The only people who have a chance are the seasoned players, and even then, the level 100+ teammates I've had can't even compete against these accounts.
The game has been having server issues since 10.6. I can feel it in almost every match on Asia servers.
I was seriously thinking about buying the current premium battle pass, but after this, Iām definitely not going to.

hey embark, maybe instead of only focusing on Arc Raiders, maybe actually give a fuck about the player base on this game. the smurfing problem is out of control and you guys couldnāt care any less. we donāt give a shit about dragons or your cosmetics right now. we care about the matchmaking system and actual buffs/nerfs the game needs.
Could interactions with ladders, and more specifically being forced to climb them by proximity alone be revisited for possible improvements?
So often I find myself engaging and disengaging from fights, frantically running in and out of windows, near ladders, only to be forced into a climb with zero intent of doing so.
This stands in contrast to how other traversal options work:

⢠Gateways require a manual interact
⢠Sprinting requires a manual input (unless Auto-Sprint, an opt-in toggle, is enabled)
⢠Vaulting over objects requires manual input
Given the precedent set by the existence of the Auto-Sprint toggle, the possible introduction of an Auto-Climb toggle would be a significant QOL win. (IMHO ofc).
And much like vaulting, you could rely on the jump keybind to initiate the action.
To avoid introducing a breaking change, it could even be enabled by default.

Reaching platinum in rank and then grinding to diamond is very hard ,, not to imagine the suffer from diamond to ruby
most of my games as a plat is against Ruby's ,, which at the end they help the weakest team to qualify and they defend them.

In addition, why as a plat player I only get 500- 700 max if I reached top 1 place and 200-300 if I reach top 2 (so basicallyi need to quilfy twice) and against diamonds and rubys ,, but if I lose i lose 800-1000 points??
Lastly ,, why only first 500 on the world can be Ruby's?,, these guys are the same people being ruby every season ,, why not make it top 1000? Events with tickets and the wheel are pretty frustrating. I would love to get all of the limited cosmetics without paying, but during these events, it seems down to luck. Even if you play enough to collect the 3 daily tickets, you still might get unlucky and land on something you already got.
I would suggest going back to the format of the older events like super cashball/and previous holidays or just make it similar to the stage contracts.

lol why would they? Finals is just a minor project compared to Arc Raiders, and even at it's worst Finals only has 1/4th the player count of Arc Raiders at any given moment. Smurfs? Check the current player count on Steamcharts, shove the argument "but there are more console players outside Steam" somewhere else, and you'll see why Finals doesn't get the attention you think it deserves to get.

Can't overtune it, but if you want to make Data Reshaper viable, how about give a bit more control over what you can reshape things into so players can utilize it more strategically. Can't make it OP where you can always get whatever arena utility that you need in any situation, but more intuitive and more likely to be able to say in a situation, "I need a red barrel and can make one here" or "gas" etc. Not sure if it's worth the trouble to fix that gadget, but I think players would at least find it interesting to experiment with if it acted more like a situational swiss army knife.

if a glitch grenade disables a shield it shouldn't also glitch everyone inside the shield, the shield should eat the glitch and be disabled, theres TWO glitch grenades on light make it so they need both, allow frag grenades through shields though

Ranked RS needs a rework to eliminate/reduce griefing (pretty much every high plat and above match will be griefed)
Make RS gained correspond to the amount of money your team earns throughout the match rather than predetermined RS based on seeding. Obviously there would have to be a cash threshold teams need to pass, which would determine how much they gain/lose. For the final round, a bonus RS calculation should be made for the 2 teams based on their seeding when they entered the tournament. For example, if the 6th seed makes it to the final round vs the 1st seed, they would earn a significant bonus if they win. Conversely if the 1st seed wins, they will still get a bonus, just not as significant.
Also players should not lose ANY RS if they place at their seeding. Being 6th seed and placing 6th only to lose hundreds of RS makes no sense.
The 0.35 value comes directly from Embark's own patch notes, v1.4.1
The point is that both games use rotational-style tracking assistance with configurable strength values, and THE FINALS publicly launched with values higher than Apex Legends.
What actually strengthens the comparison is that Apex doesn't even have ADS snap targeting/zoom snapping. Apex mainly uses rotational AA and slowdown/friction, yet controller is still one of the biggest advantages in the game.
The R5Reloaded dataset is relevant because it demonstrates the broader mechanical reality:
controller tracking assistance compresses the skill gap by providing instant directional tracking corrections that human reaction time on MnK physically cannot replicate consistently.
Apex's weaker implementation already creates measurable controller advantages, THE FINALS having stronger assistance systems is obviously going to raise balance concerns.

Every single update, the patch notes say something like āWeāve fixed matchmaking!ā but it never actually gets fixed.
Before, it was a chaotic mess where Ruby and Diamond players were being thrown into the same rooms. But now, even in matches where the results screen clearly shows that there are players from the same tier, I still get hit with a massive RS penalty unless I win through two rounds.

Arc Raiders will not save you forever. It has the same problems as most live service games right now (example cheaters because of your useless anti-cheat) and is normal for the player base to decline steadily with time.

So you lost the first engagement and no one on the team is talking. Fix the comms first(without being an asshole about it) before you let the baby rage take over. How to correctly balance the 93R
The recent 93R changes made it an overpowered light deleter while having basically no effect on the classes it struggles against, which are medium and heavy. Hence, Embark needs to look at other ways to balance it rather than altering the damage.
This can be done by making the burst delay shorter, which will make it more viable against ALL classes while not making it overpowered versus lights.
Proposed 93R changes:
RPM - 1000 (current cycle rate)
Damage: 24** (revert from 25 back to 24)**
Burst delay: 0,284s > 0,235s (RPM 210 -> 260)
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,52s -> ~ ** 0,71s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.21s -> ~ 1,12s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.68s -> ~ 1,54s (15 shots)
Head:
light: 0.40s -> ~ 0,415s (5 shots)
medium: 0.81s -> ~ 0,71s (7 shots)
heavy: 1.21s -> ~ 1,065s (10 shots)
Damage drop-off minimum range: 30m ->** 27m**
Damage drop-off maximum range: 37.5m ->** 34.5m**
Damage Dropoff Modifier @ Max Range: 50%** (it stays the same)**
Keep the mag size at** 21** to preserve the 93R's punishing nature.
These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R (except light). This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
I feel the need to mention that the 93R had these TTKs in this proposal until patch 2.9.0, yet it wasn't used because of its high recoil and lower range than the XP-54 at the time. So it wouldn't be an unprecedented change. We now have better range and lower recoil, so now is the time to truly balance this weapon once and for all.
Stop allowing repeats in the spin the wheel event, you should be able to earn all the rewards without spending money if you play everyday just like every other event.
Even if it's not 40Āŗ, if any aim lock exists, sword will have the most idiotic handling. Since the rotation clamp is clearly the biggest thing that makes the weapon unusable, it shouldn't exist at all. You should just revert sword back to how it was in S1,S2 , when there was no multi-hit. Sword back then was a bit weak, but thatās okay. A weaker weapon is better than a dumb patch that destroys its identity.

I came back at the start of season 10 now I see in quick cash, the team gets the first cash wins if no one else gets any cash or there is only 3 cash going on in the game. So what people are doing if they get the first cash is they are just winning the game for others. They are just grabbing the cash out and running the whole map.

Smurfing Problem and margin-of-victory ELOs:
If you used a true margin-of-victory ELO calculation, smurfing as a problem would go away. Separately, I assume you use a corrupted ELO (current RS system) to preserve the incentive for players to grind through a season. Two solutions: (1) Use a true ELO calculation combined with gradual ELO inflation through a season - i.e., the nice version of ELO decay. Honestly, I think there is a justification for the inflation, as presumably the entire player base gains in skill over time. (2) Shift emphasis to players' leaderboard positions so people grind to improve those instead of just their ELO. Players can see each otherās leaderboard position in each match instead of or along with their ELO. You could even combine (1) and (2). Note, this is actually a response to the smurfing problem, which is the only reason to go to such lengths. EDIT: "margin-of-victory" is used loosely here, should basically be taken to mean how far above their current ELO a player performs in a given match.
Cheater Problem:
If you lower the barriers to reporting, I suspect youād get fewer cheaters. Seems to me the obvious feature would be to have a button during the replay feature that automatically reports the clip and gameplay (hopefully just in the form of metadata). Thereād have to be some more assurance that the replay feature doesnāt dramatically reduce in-game performance, of course, which no one I know is convinced of. Otherwise, a lot of the players best qualified to spot and report cheaters will still have the replay feature off anyway. Anyway, if workable, this idea seems like it would create a new problem of generating an explosion of reports, but I suspect this would be far offset by having more data on the players getting repeatedly reported, and not just quantity of reports but gameplay clips to back it up.

Once again I'm here to say that it's not a coincidence that all these new low level accounts are more challenging than all the 100+ players I play with/against. There's a SERIOUS problem with either cheaters on new accounts, people on alt/smurf accounts, or both and they all need to be banned immediately. Every single time there are these low level accounts in my games, it's like my entire team isn't even playing and the level 19 on the other team is 100% walking through everyone with 30 kills and the level 6 with 19 kills. While the level 100+ players on my team have no more than 6 kills. It's not just me being "not good" against a new player because it's everyone on my team no matter the level. Levels 100+ on their team can't perform like that either. It's not a coincidence. It's cheaters and people exploiting the matchmaking with alt/smurf accounts. This needs to be dealt with. I see these "expert" new low level accounts every day I play, all level 1-20 every single time.
I feel like you could fix the griefing problem by making it so Elo rewards in final round is not determined until both teams are there.
If there is a huge Elo difference, then the team in final round should gain like nothing in that final round for beating them, on the flip side if it's narrower the gains should be more.
If you're playing to climb the leaderboard, this would incentivise you to not try to hold the second best team back in round two

If you played THE FINALS when rotational AA was 50%, you'd know it was obviously much stronger than Apex at the time. The values are clearly not just arbitrary numbers with no practical meaning, the real disagreement is simply where the acceptable balance point is.

After performing an action in my backpack (e.g., selecting "Salvage"), the selection cursor/focus stays anchored in the backpack panel instead of returning to the next item in the active loot list. When I try to continue looting quickly, my input registers on whatever the backpack cursor is still hovering ā causing accidental salvages, weapon swaps, or wrong selections. The cursor should reset to the next available loot item after each backpack action is completed.
Steps to reproduce: Open loot screen ā select item ā choose "Salvage" from backpack ā without moving, attempt to select next loot item ā cursor is still in backpack panel, not loot list.
Expected: Cursor returns to loot list automatically after backpack action resolves.

Spawns feel awful right now, make them more aggressive to be on one cashout, rather then making it so three teams can spawn close to the same cashout
One good change to create diversity in medium build could be the nerf to the reanimated teammate by defibrillator. Decreasing the hp from a half bar to 10% hp could force the defib user to protect the partner or heal it using a lot of heal beam or infuser charges. Historically, defib is still that essential pick for the teams, this change should make defib more complex than just revive. Players who use defib could be more strategist than just revive (in low ELO in a danger spot or high elo, using cover, healing them for a little time)

You have to roll the same slot 3x. The first time you get the item. The second time the slot turns into a golden ticket. The third time you actually get the golden ticket. It's clearly laid out if you read the event description in game.
Edit to address the below message - it doesn't actually impact the probability of completing the wheel because the chances of landing on the same slot >3 times is quite low. To have a 50% chance of completing the wheel you must get 27-30 tickets out of 45 (complete the dailies on 9-10 days out of 14). Above that your odds of completing the wheel greatly increase (since the odds of hitting on the gold ticket slots is higher because there's more of them) @boreal locust
Adding to what you said if you land in the same slot for a fourth time you're back to step 2 and have to land on it yet again to get another ticket.

I have been asking for a hard point game mode in the finals.
This dragons claim has been the first attempt at something like that and I'm just not enjoying it.
While I'm impressed at the creativity and attempt to tie it to theme, it's just not enjoyable to me.
Maybe it's because the mode plays slow?
I want this kind of mode again but no theme, no locked classes, more teams or players per team, and shorter or near instant respawns.

I use the cl-40 and only using that got to diamond with it
the weapon lacks any ttk on other M & H (this is fine btw)
( keep in mind the only weapon the cl-40 will have a better ttk is when fighting a pike when in a MVM match up)
But if u want to reward more direct shots increase the velocity of the shots and maybe make the cycle animation to be slightly faster i am fine with less splash damage but plz then make it more in line with what u have said for wanting direct hits with it
Dev Note: The CL-40ās effectiveness is not great compared to many other Medium weapons. We know facing the CL is frustrating for some players, so we want to be careful with how much we buff it, but these changes are needed to increase its viability. The aim is to incentivize more direct hits with the CL-40, rather than less accurate splash damage shots.
I would also love 2 see data reshaper cool down to be faster ( I do not use it but it takes 28s to come back feels it should be faster if u want more out of it )

Hey, Embark! Majority solo-queue/no comms player here. Please consider reinstating the ping voice/text lines for intention to revive ("I'm going for the revive! Cover me!"), specifically spotting an enemy ("Enemy spotted!" / "Got a contestant!") and trailing a teammate ("I'm right behind you!"). These lines cannot be effectively replaced by simply having the character say "There!" when, for example, pinging a revive statue (in fact, many players still do it despite it not giving any info whatsoever anymore), and denoting a difference between general danger in an area ("Danger here!") to actually seeing an enemy ("Enemy spotted!") is super important for micro-management and gameplay for someone like me.

i just played a ranked game with randoms, not even 4 minutes into the first round one of them decided that they didn't want to be a part of that game anymore; long story short i lost 1000rs because a random teammate decided to leave why am I punished for his shitty WIFI give me my RS back. these games aren't short it takes a while to make 1000 points but you can lose it in the span of 10 minutes. it is ridiculous this is why this game has such a low player count that continues to go down. i wasted one hour getting 1000 Rs only to lose it in 10 because of a random with shitty WIFI. I am working under the assumption that the pick rate for the Hover Pad is low, kinda like Data Reshaper.
Just as I made a suggestion for the Data Reshaper (give users a bit more control in what you can reshape objects into or at least a preview of what you'll get when you use it), I'm going to throw one out for the Hover Pad.
Give players some control of the Hover Pad's movement.
Obviously, the mechanic would take some work, and the movement would need to be reasonable, obviously.
First thought that popped into my head was jumping once while on the pad to lock on for movement, jump once again while locked to unlock (e.g., just jumping off the pad).
As for movement, only the vertical movement up and down would be something to figure out.
I have no idea what kind of value this would have (still too little? way too much?), but maybe there's a scenario where your team is hiding out on a hover pad around the side of a building next to a cashout inside and rotates with the pad around for a surprise?
Use it to slowly raise your team up to a higher level? Use it to raise a cashout up?
Anyway, I think you've done an amazing job making so many things in the game viable, but it's still sad to see some gadgets never get picked.

I do have to note, as bad as the game has gotten, as many people we have lost and possibly never regain, the 10.6 patch has done wonders for me. I easily gained +50% FPS (on low settings with max view range), matchmaking, albeit non-ranked modes are still a hit or miss, ranked seems good, having played it 2 evenings of the past 3 days, and finally, I have not gotten the lag bug once (the red latency marker throughout the whole match) since the new update

point break desperetly needs a rework: let people choose where to spawn and lower respawn times, buff revive pads, buff healing beam, buff dome shield, why do you need to reload rpg and lockbolt if they have cooldown? why does it take longer to reload on full clip dump? just remove all this bs and go full arcade... bullet drop off is also useless bs...

Proposition: Since Season 9 added the ability to change sponsors at any moment there's appeared one small problem... Grind. Fans are more difficult to earn than XP but I understand why it is but there is one solution that could make the grind for those sponsor stuff a bit more easier: reward fans for daily and club contracts. The amount shouldn't too big but just enough to make it less of slog. I suggest giving daily contracts a value of 75-100 fans and 50 fans for club ones per contract.

I'm not sure what the intent with the goo nerf was, but it feels almost exactly the same with guns, but melee feels much worse for closing distance and combos don't work anymore. On top of this, the infinite goo stall cheese is practically untouched.

- The smoke from destroying walls or floors stay for way too long, and are a bit too intense at times. It's almost better than smoke grenades, as it stays for a lot longer.
- Make ranked either Head2Head, or remake the "RS" into "cash extracted". There's still an incentive for the leading team to team up with the lowest team to get them in, but if they had to sacrifice their own RS for it, it discourage teaming with other teams. Adjusting the entry cost for a tourney would be how you balance the gain / loss.
- Charge and slam does a bit too much free damage, and logically it doing the same damage as an RPG doesn't make sense. I suggest making the knockback the main focus of the specification, and give it damage when enemies get knocked into a wall.
- The mythic ghost hair is very difficult to fight against, as the outline of their head tracks the hair floating, making hitting headshots harder. It's literally pay-to-win

How to correctly balance the 93R
The recent 93R changes made it an overpowered light deleter while having basically no effect on the classes it struggles against, which are medium and heavy. Hence, Embark needs to look at other ways to balance it rather than altering the damage.
This can be done by making the burst delay shorter, which will make it more viable against ALL classes while not making it overpowered versus lights.
Proposed 93R changes:
RPM - 1000 (current cycle rate)
Damage: 24** (revert from 25 back to 24)**
Burst delay: 0,284s > 0,235s (RPM 210 -> 260)
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,52s -> ~ ** 0,71s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.21s -> ~ 1,12s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.68s -> ~ 1,54s (15 shots)
Head:
light: 0.40s -> ~ 0,415s (5 shots)

heavy: 1.21s -> ~ 1,065s (10 shots)

These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R (except light). This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
I feel the need to mention that the 93R had these TTKs in this proposal until patch 2.9.0, yet it wasn't used because of its high recoil and lower range than the XP-54 at the time. So it wouldn't be an unprecedented change. We now have better range and lower recoil, so now is the time to truly balance this weapon once and for all.

- Secondary fire - Brings up a wheel with 3 sets of objects to choose from based on what is in the reshaper's range, to make it more like a 'Swiss Army Knife'-type gadget
(2) Hover Pad rework (refined): - Buff the size of the pad slightly so a full team can stand a bit more comfortably on it
- Give it mobility with a moderate speed
- Activate mobility by jumping once on it to lock in. While locked in, normal movement for forward, back, left, right; primary and secondary fire for up, down
- Jump once again to unlock mobility, re-enabling the ability to utilize weapons or other utility, or to jump off the pad
(3) Melee rework (prospectively): - Others have noted that improving audio cues would help to address complaints

- Potentially even with room to then buff some melees
(4) Other feedback: - A small thing, but I hope you will preserve playersā season stats for each game mode so they can be seen in future seasons. I am enjoying tracking them, and comparing them across seasons would be nice.
- Agree with @odd linden that it would be nice to be able to name and rearrange our builds, and also give them each their own player card
- In your RS rework for next season, pls make placings in any Cashout rounds matter. Would help with griefing and teaming. Less so teaming, but that's an unfixable problem in a 4-team mode. Something to pls bear in mind in all future design decisions.
- Once again, I feel bad for people still experiencing performance issues, but I have been very satisfied with the stability and performance of the game recently. Greatly appreciate the amazing work on that.

They're arbitrary until we have evidence regarding the scaling of the algorithms they are used in. A bigger value in one game could totally have a smaller impact than a smaller value in another. You need evidence for it to make sense to confidently assert this, and so far it seems that we have a single intuited data point and no actual data.

THE WINCH
I don't like the winch as it's currently designed. It's probably the most boring way a chain CC could be implemented in a game; roadhog's hook was a nerf magnet for a REASON. It just works. Nerfs never have or ever will fix the instant win button it can be

CLEAR SIGNALLING
You now enter an animation that has a distinct sound for 2.0-4.5s, spinning the chain first before tossing it at your opponent. The longer you swing, the farther you can reach. You can activate it again to cancel it during this state. +Aura
At 2.5s the range is 8m, and at 4.5s the range is 40m. However, you can only keep it fully charged for 4 seconds. If you run it out, it's treated as a miss in terms of cooldown (10s).
To counter the range, Cashbox Stations are incredibly heavy, and your maximum distance you can pull them is halved; for example, fully charging it only allows you to pull it 20m if you send it rather than 40m, and you reel it towards you at 33% the speed of normal objects and players, also reducing bonus distance from momentum.
STUN CHANGES
Only stuns for .1 seconds, and they'd no longer arrive in front of you neatly; they'd carry any momentum from being pulled unless the person winched hits you with a quick melee, which will interrupt the winch and remove momentum. In addition...
DRAGGING.
When you grab an object, you can now hold down the activation key to keep them a certain distance (you can move), and any time you let go they'll be pulled further towards you. Note, the chain has 150 health, and can be broken. But if you time it right, you can pull them directly towards you with enough time for a sick skill shot.
You can indefinitely pull objects this way, including separated parts of the arena, but can't affect enemy revive statues.
Meanwhile, cash stations can ONLY be dragged if they're within 8 meters of you, and your speed is reduced by 33% while doing so.
Players/cashboxes can only be dragged for 3s.

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed
Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.
What's the point in having Overtime in Dragon's Claim if the moment the banner blows up it's game over? Literally just means the team keeping it in OT couldn't win for the last 2 minutes and are fighting for no reason.

Sometimes when I go into the practice range, the music follows me into it and keeps playing. If a track finishes, it will play a new one.
Please don't "fix" this, just turn this into a feature for not only practice range, but for other modes too. and for the feature add a seperate slider for "in match music."
the xp was given 2 extra bullets but those bullets dont matter because the reload animation starts at 34, launching the recoil pattern to the left at the end. Give XP 17 damage and reduce ammo to 32, and make reload speed .3 seconds faster with and without being empty

The bronze is in a party abusing the matchmaker to queue into gold lobbies, golds can get matchmaked with rubies (for some reason) and as such, he can get into your game. Awful system.
The balancing in the game seems pretty solid at the moment, so I hesitate to ask, but is there a maximum heal rate in the game? Should there be? I ask because I recall there being a nerf to double heal beam back in the day, and now that we have heal beam, H+ infuser, healing emitter, and even the blue healing balls, I wonder if any of those currently double up, now.
Separately, if a maximum heal rate was implemented, should that maximum rate be scaled to the different classesā overall health pools? Iām not saying scale the amount of heals that each one of the healing gadgets does per second, only what the maximum is if getting healed by multiple gadgets simultaneously.

before the clamp, Sword M2 was absurdly spammy. You didn't need to aim your thrust, just hold M2, release, and shake your mouse/joystick vigorously so that the hitbox is all around you. That ain't intuitive, that's cheese meant to make up for lack of aiming skill.

In fencing, thrust attacks are realistically seen as a high-risk, high-reward attack, since it gives you a lot of reach and power momentarity, at the cost of being utterly predictable and defenseless during recovery. The current aim clamp is not only reeling the spammy nature of Sword M2, it's also quite realistic and whoever added this change did their research on sword fights. Kudos to the balance team for that.

Before the M1 buff, it was even more useless than quick melee. 75 damage per swing, you'd need 4 hits on Medium and 5 hits on Heavy to take them out, 1 less with quick melee. 140 damage M2, funnily enough, only changes the ttk on Medium cos Light and Heavy class keeps the same ttk with 120 damage thrust . You want the damage buffed on the thrust because you're so bad against Mediums that you can't even afford to land a quick melee after the 2nd thrust attack and get shredded by them (lol). This small piece reveals everything about you, about how unskilled you are, and sadly, about your inability to learn.

the hover pad needs adjustments. I can see the vision but itās not implemented well as you can only get use out of the hover pad by using other gadgets like a jump pad or a turret to place on it and make a gimmick gunship out of it. Which is not worth using a gadget slot for.
Suggestion: the hover pad needs a significant horizontal speed increase especially when blasted by a shockwave. That way it allows us to launch pad in a given direction. Example scenario, if a teammate has a box and thereās only 15 seconds to put it into a cashout, I can place a hover pad, get my teammate to stand on it then use shockwave to launch the pad horizontally in the desired direction like a hockey puck at insane speeds to reach the cashout in time.
The shockwave currently doesnāt move the hover pad at all which is ridiculous.
Another example, I could place the hover pad in a room, place mines on the hover pad then when an enemy comes in I can launch the hover pad horizontally in their direction using quick melee or enhancing it using shockwave which blows them up.
Either way the hover pad is not worth using in its current state. Please turn it into a hockey puck that sails horizontally at high speeds, thatās the only change you need to introduce new tech I can use. Let me launch my bro horizontally across the map sailing on the hover pad.
The hoverpad being a slow fixed position pad in the air is pointless when youāre at a better advantage just standing on solid ground instead of a tiny disc with 150hp. BUT if it could sail horizontally it would be insane.

the weapon lacks any ttk on other M & H (this is fine btw)
( keep in mind the only weapon the cl-40 will have a better ttk is when fighting a pike when in a MVM match up)

Dev Note: The CL-40ās effectiveness is not great compared to many other Medium weapons. We know facing the CL is frustrating for some players, so we want to be careful with how much we buff it, but these changes are needed to increase its viability. I wish they were a bit more open with data. For starters that the career stats page showed assists, and individual gadget/weapon stats, I would love to see which maps I perform best on, accuracy with weapons, how many steals I have.

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed
Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.
GARBAGE MATCHMAKING
If you are having much more latency than expected, VPN services (exitlag is specifically geared towards this, though I don't really know how good it is) may be able to route you around whatever is adding so much latency, which may be better overall.

- It opens up an insane amount of options for medium to really flush out different play styles and roles,
- It leans in to medium being a flex support class, it also is a specialization that is useful or fun for every part of a match and in terms of the actual experience (not just niche scenarios). Vs demat which can be totally useless in many instances, or turret that is tantamount to baby sitting a nearsighted roomba with a temper.
- Suddenly a bunch of utterly mid gadgets are fucking awesome thanks to the synergy you can achieve by combining them.
In terms of controls/button bindings: For modifier button or directional equipping: standard gadgets activated through the usual buttons, while the three additional gadgets are activated by double clicking the corresponding usual button (1 for 4, 2 for 5, 3 for 6). Simply add more options for wheel.

The Current Ranked System, Solo-Queue Experience & A Format Proposal
After playing for over 500 hours, I have to say that the current Ranked experience, especially for solo players, is incredibly frustrating. It feels impossible to rank up without a premade team. Even prominent Embark Stream Partners are constantly complaining about the exact same issues.
The Main Issues:
Matchmaking: As a solo player, I am constantly paired with complete beginners who lack basic game sense, positioning, and team play. It makes climbing back to Platinum feel impossible.
Third-Partying / "Griefing": The current tournament format heavily rewards third-partying and griefing, which takes away from actual skill-based engagements.
A Proposal for a New Bracket Format:
To make fights fairer and reduce the constant third-partying, the tournament structure could be adjusted:
Round 1: Standard 1v1v1v1 match.
Round 2 (Semi-Finals): Break it down into two separate 1v1 matches (e.g., 1st vs 2nd from previous round, and 3rd vs 4th).
Round 3 (Finals): The winners of those 1v1s fight in a final 1v1 match.
This might not fix all issues perfectly, but it would provide much fairer, skill-based fights without the constant chaos of four teams griefing each other at one objective. Please look into the solo-queue experience!

before the clamp, Sword M2 was absurdly spammy. You didn't need to aim your thrust, just hold M2, release, and shake your mouse/joystick vigorously so that the hitbox is all around you. That ain't intuitive, that's cheese meant to make up for lack of aiming skill.

In fencing, thrust attacks are realistically seen as a high-risk, high-reward attack, since it gives you a lot of reach and power momentarity, at the cost of being utterly predictable and defenseless during recovery. The current aim clamp is not only reeling the spammy nature of Sword M2, it's also quite realistic and whoever added this change did their research on sword fights. Kudos to the balance team for that.

Current high-rank rewards feel underwhelming and identical across most of the top 500, which hurts long-term motivation and encourages smurfing. More exclusive ranked cosmetics or seasonal rewards tied to final rank would make grinding feel more rewarding. -
Heavy specialization idea ā āWrecking Ballā concept
Just throwing this idea out there as inspiration for a future Heavy specialization. The Heavy fires a hook toward a structure and swings forward using momentum like a human wrecking ball. Missing the hook would trigger cooldown, similar to the Winch Claw. The goal wouldnāt be raw speed, but giving Heavy a more creative mobility/destruction tool while fitting the class identity.

How to correctly balance the 93R
The recent 93R changes made it an overpowered light deleter while having basically no effect on the classes it struggles against, which are medium and heavy. Hence, Embark needs to look at other ways to balance it rather than altering the damage.
This can be done by making the burst delay shorter, which will make it more viable against ALL classes while not making it overpowered versus lights.
Proposed 93R changes:
RPM - 1000 (current cycle rate)
Damage: 24** (revert from 25 back to 24)**
Burst delay: 0,284s > 0,235s (RPM 210 -> 260)
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,52s -> ~ ** 0,71s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.21s -> ~ 1,12s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.68s -> ~ 1,54s (15 shots)
Head:
light: 0.40s -> ~ 0,415s (5 shots)
medium: 0.81s -> ~ 0,71s (7 shots)
heavy: 1.21s -> ~ 1,065s (10 shots)
Damage drop-off minimum range: 30m ->** 27m**
Damage drop-off maximum range: 37.5m ->** 34.5m**
Damage Dropoff Modifier @ Max Range: 50%** (it stays the same)**
Keep the mag size at** 21** to preserve the 93R's punishing nature.
These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R (except light). This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
I feel the need to mention that the 93R had these TTKs in this proposal until patch 2.9.0, yet it wasn't used because of its high recoil and lower range than the XP-54 at the time. So it wouldn't be an unprecedented change. We now have better range and lower recoil, so now is the time to truly balance this weapon once and for all.

Please revert the RS changes you made this week. Used to lose 500-600 rs on a first round knockout which was at least able to be gained back in 2-3 games in mid diamond and now I lose over 900. This has caused me to drop thousands of RS in like 2-3 matches. I do not understand what the goal is here.

Bumped into unranked cheaters earlier, it was crazy. When I tell you they could auto locate and had auto aim on us, believe me
Yo is it just me or is the matchmaking kinda buns rn?
For example I lobby with my friends 1 unranked and the other high silver (around 18k) now I'm a low gold (~21k) after a loosing streak, however my opponents are a three stack of plats (all around 32k), a triple gold (all 27k) and a 2 plat /gold (gold was 29k). How is this fair matchmaking? At the time I was around 4k lower than the next lowest player in the tourney.
Another example: I try and solo que for some hopefully more balanced games however I load in with a 10k and a 17k. I'm at around 21k (so low gold) and I have a teammate with half my RS. I'm going against triple golds while I have 2 silvers on my team. Again how is this fair matchmaking?
On a side note the amount of former dimonds and RUBYS in low gold is kinda wild. Not to mention the smurfs.
All in all I would take longer que times if it resolved this unbalanced matchmaking in ranked.

LIVE SPECTATING + BETTING
Let us do something with our spare VRS or even Show Tokens (NOT multibucks please) and bet on teams we can freely spectate in a mode similar to Deadlock's. It might result in a system similar to Recruit & Rise, but hopefully with rewards that are actually worth the effort. You'd know which teams have what stats, and could bet at any time in the first half of the first bracket, but the earlier you place your bet and the 'least likely' team (I.e. one with the least overall stats) you pick, the greater the reward at the end depending on your chosen team's performance. You could even choose to look at the other half of the first 4v4 bracket so, in the second bracket, when you have the choice to change your mind or double-or-nothing, you can make a decision with some of that data too.
The betting part just feels like it's thematic to The Finals, and would be a fun audience addition besides. Imagine having an actual audience to react to gameplay, that would be sick af. I honestly think a freely available spectate mode meshes with the game so well that I'm shocked it wasn't implemented before Deadlock. It would seamlessly fit into the overall experience. The betting part isn't necessary, but it would give another incentive to have big audiences.

M1 is currently more spammy and significantly less skill. Also, this topic on M2 lunge being able to spin around in a 360 is literally addressed by removing the multihit. We sword mains also think this is silly, and that is why we are advocating to remove it (removing the multihit on M2 and the aim clamp)

We are playing a virtual game show where aliens blow up the arena and people burst into coins. Realism is not the intent here. Second, aim clamping someone is about the most unrealistic thing possible. Our movement in real life isn't restricted by 40 degrees. Also, even if we discuss realism here, having a thrusting attack that can attack multiple opponents is unrealistic as well, thus, remove the multihit on M2 and remove the aim clamp.

First, it was 74 DMG per swing originally, not 75 (that would give it the same hits to kill as it currently has). M1 spam is signficantly less skilled than M2 being the dominant attack. It also provides zero depth to the weapon if the main attack is just clicking M1 while on top of a target. M2 requires positioning and movement skill to keep dodging around the opponent (or else you get instantly deleted after lunging at an opponent).

You are partially correct here. Changing the M2 ttk for Light and Heavy would make sword overpowered, thus, we sword mains are trying to avoid that. However, buffing M2 to 140 would enable some more combos with the primary attack, such as: M2 + M2 + M1 to kill a heavy, or M2 + M1 + QM to kill a medium (giving more viability to M1, something you were complaining about as underused). Keep in mind, this would restore it to Season 1 balancing on the Sword, a state where no one complained about it being overpowered.

Embark added aim clamp to make skillless M2 thrusts easier to punish, and crying for it's removal only proves the actual lack of aiming skill on the crying kids. True, bad aim is why y'all are playing swords in the first place, but still, you can't just expect to use M2 whenever you want carelessly and still win every fight point-blank, do you?
Aim clamp on M2 is quite a brilliant thing, not just for letting lights easily avoid a whiff by shaking their mouse all around, but also making sure that enemies can avoid the thrust attacks as well. As a Heavy main I have personally punished so many cocky lights just by watching them prepare the M2 and simply taking a sidestep and punishing their whiff. They still CAN hit me, just not by making it obvious. Even funnier considering I checked my weapon xp on Light, and was surprised to find out I also have the highest level on Sword. Probably that's why I look down on people who asks for removal of aim clamp, they're simply bad at adapting to new changes and understanding what necessitated the change.
The thing is, even with the dps buff on M1 it only serves to defeat low level scrubs with 0 team coordination. 88 damage doesn't make it spammy, it barely makes it useful. Because even with 75 damage instead of 74, you'd need 4 hits on Heavy if you sneak in a qm in the end, and as the devs have clearly demonstrated with the Hammer nerf, they WANT to remove the reliance on qm to make combos. Personally I'm torn on it because qm combos are quite fun, but I'm waiting for the melee rework to see what they're preparing. If it's bad, I'll complain then. But aim clamp? That's pure lack of learning.
And top 100 players isn't quite that respectable considering the recent allegations regarding devs favouring them with anticheat exclusions and whatnot. Sorry if that doesn't garner my respect, especially if that someone has been spamming the same AI-generated paragraph again and again for months just like his pre-nerf M2. Ad hominem? Lol

When looking at the cashout, please severely dim the icons of dead teammates. This is looking at a cashout from 12 meters away. The cashout is sideways on the ground and there is a Heavy crouched on the other side stealing, right at the center point of the cashout.
There is no destruction dust, but I am looking through an anti-gravity field. I've lost multiple games to just not being able to see through dead teammate icons
Started getting frame rate drops anytime an input is pressed that gets worse as the game progresses going as low as a constant average of 11 fps even though the game was running perfectly fine yesterday
Or just icons in general while you're aiming right at/through them. Visual clutter makes it really hard to track properly
I didnāt play for a season and my silver friends are now in high gold after coming back. This is heavily influenced by the placements being very skewed towards your last rank. Iām still playing with them, but Iām still mid silver, and the RP differential isnāt changing. I feel like it sucks that Iām playing in high gold/plat lobbies (bc there have been multiple ranked rounds where weāre eighth seed and post match we see that almost everyone else is plat 4 or plat 3) and we stand to gain RP at the end of the round, but I donāt gain barely any more than my friends so the gap never closes. Yes I can play the game more and gain on my own time sure, but Iām busy with life and 95% of the time my friends are on when I get on. Telling me to ignore my friends and play alone would be dumb bc weāre doing pretty decently and frankly I wanna game with my boys. So yeah I feel like there should be something like a catch up mechanic for squads of three in ranked to close the gap between friends.

FIX SKILL BASED MATCHMAKING
Hey Devs / Feedback team,
I wanted to give constructive feedback on controller aim assist, specifically Target Tracking, which is currently set at 35%.
The S1 nerf from 50% down to 35% was a good step toward reducing the sticky feel. However, based on hard data from R5 Reloaded 1v1 servers in Apex Legends, 35% is still way too strong.
For context:
- In R5 (post Season 22 nerf, using 0.3 or 30% rotational aim assist, which is almost identical to what The Finals currently uses at 35%), the numbers are striking:
- Average controller accuracy: 36.54%
- Average MNK accuracy: 28.41%
- That creates an 8+ percentage point gap with a massive effect size (Cohen's d = 2.25).
- The average controller player is more accurate than over 99% of all MNK players in the dataset.
- 60% of controller players beat the top 1% of MNK players.
- Even the best MNK player (around 41% accuracy) only sits around the 42nd percentile of controller players.
These stats come from dedicated players grinding 1v1s with publicly tracked data on r5r.dev. Different games and implementations do not change the core point here.
The Finals features even more aggressive movement than Apex. On top of that, The Finals includes zoom snapping, which Apex does not have. This combination makes the overall aim assist even stronger. If 30% rotational aim assist already creates that level of tracking dominance in R5, then 35% in The Finals is almost certainly still giving controllers an oversized advantage in close to mid range fights.
Suggestion: Please consider dropping Target Tracking further, ideally to 20 to 25% (or even test 15% like some R5 servers that reached much closer parity). It would still feel helpful without turning tracking into autopilot, and it would allow mechanical skill and movement, to shine more.
This is not "controllers are OP" whining. It is purely data driven. Lowering it would make the game healthier and more competitive for everyone in the long term.
