I saw a pretty fun situation happen yesterday. A buddy of mine (Windows 10) crashed when loading into World Tour. After resetting (twice due to 'failed to join matchmaking'), he made it in as a default loadout. We win, move on and the second round the same crash happens. However, after resetting (twice), he loads in, again as a default loadout and suddenly has -2 respawn coins. After dying, sure enough, he could not coin-in respawn the whole round. Once we moved on to the Final Round, he made it with no crash, his normal loadout and now suddenly has infinite coins, in World Tour.

This is a known bug. Dozens of threads about it, and I actually ran into it earlier today.

Patch 3.10 claims to fix this, but that's just a lie. Embark is clearly aware of the issue but they seem to be struggling.

I love doing two clutch round victories in a row, only for the game to absolutely FUCK me on the final round by kicking me, timing out during the reconnect, not letting me respawn for a full minute, kicking me again, and then after not being able to play for almost the entire round it lets me in immediately before we lose 🫠 Such a competitive and fair experience. I love being charged money for skins for a game that doesn't even function, has been broken for an entire year, and is developed by a skeleton crew.

Test your connection strength while that's happening. Open up command prompt or terminal, fire pings to cloudfare or google and look for high latency or lost packets. Cloudfare is ping -t 1.1.1.1 , google is ping -t 8.8.8.8 or ping -t 8.8.4.4 (-t timeout argument is not required if you're on linux, it'll go until you cancel with CTRL+C)

0003 I believe is the 'cannot connect to server' error, so it's either the local connection struggling at that time, or servers under such a load that you can't connect a new session. You can also try changing the region, if you are in a region where the footprint isn't that great.

My game has suddenly become unplayable. Every 3 or 4 seconds, the game "lag" It's not so much a drop in FPS, just a hard stutter.

I've been playing in 4K at 120 FPS for the past 4-5 months, so it's not a configuration issue, nor is it an internet connection problem—I’ve checked.

What's strange is that everything was fine yesterday. I haven't changed anything in the meantime, whether it's hardware, software, updates, or anything else.

I tried turning off RTX, but it made no difference. I also tried setting everything to low in the settings and updated my drivers, but none of it helped.

What happened?

Uhm, I forgot to take a screenshot but 30min after closing the game and exiting steam i noticed that the current game i was playing was frame dropping constantly, i checked task manager and The Finals was still running at 25% CPU and 2gigs of ram, i followed the source and it indeed was the discovery.exe binary in the game's folder.

How is it possible that the game was still up and running half an hour after closing the game?

Has the bug with the graphics being set to max being reported?
First time loading the game the games graphics seem to be maxed since i notice reflection quality increased and motion blur.
Entering graphic settings menu and click out resets.
Its a repeatable bug and all my friends are aware of it too.

It's reported, there is a workaround for this that Windows users have been doing:
-launch game
-make any changes you want to save for graphic settings, quit the game
-Go to AppData\Local\Discovery\Saved\Config\WindowsClient and set GameUserSettings.ini to read only.

It also means you'll have to manually unlock the file to make changes until there is a real fix, but at least you can stop it from resetting.

are the dual blades broken? i have my crosshair perfectly over someone like seven meters away while holding right click and nothing is deflecting
and when i scroll to the previous item and then next item it makes my swords swing as if i left clicked
but it doesnt do that if i go to the next item then previous item
and if you ping anything in-game dual blades seem to stop deflecting during the ping animation

yeah depending on which way i scroll they just decide to left click attack once when i scroll back to the weapon thats actually a really bad bug
i think it happens when i switch back to the blades after having a pad-based ability/gadget out, even if i dont scroll
i just happen to have a zip on the last gadget which is why it happens the most when scrolling that direction
but it happens with all pad-based gadgets/abilities
even if i quickly switch to a different gadget before switching to the weapon, it still happens
i have to wait for the gadget pull out animation to start playing and then switch in order for it to not trigger the left click on the blades
it doesnt happen if i use the pad ability/gadget though, which is even weirder. only if i switch to it and then switch back without using it
it seems to be a purely visual bug but it's really really confusing when im playing and these have been out for like two months now

I had to get off because I e tried everything humanly possible to remedy the random crashing and I’ve found something weird. Someone mentioned to just turn down the graphics so I set it as low as possible and it ran untill mid match my system acted like it was a Nintendo switch and was doing really bad. Some other people said that NVIDIA dlss is bugged and I’ve tried amd’s frame generation and the same thing. If there’s another patch update can we please fix what’s going on to only certain pcs or rigs

Nope, its just questionable decisions to force ppl to enable safe boot made me drop BIOS on default settings without XMP profile enabled lol, and then i check it and set XMP back + allowed all cores to go boost i get even more than 170 fps 90% of time outside of Kyoto powershift XD

Screen modes not working properly -- affecting NVIDIA GeForce Experience

As the title states, my GeForce experience overlay doesn't work with The Finals all of a sudden. In the past it worked fine.
The issue extends to the screen mode option. When i select any more, say windowed, I would expect it to pop into windowed mode and function that way, but that doesn't happen. Whether I select Full Screen, Windowed or Borderless Windowed, my game stays in this weird hybrid state where it doesn't play sound but stays on the screen. The setting doesn't seem to affect the state of the screen mode at all, and I believe that this is what causes the issue with my clipping software, GeForce Experience "Instant Replay" too. Does anyone know a fix for this? It only happens on the correct resolution (1080p - 1920x1080)

This new patch has broken my game lol. Most guns have parts of their textures missing and some are entirely invisible. might have figured out the TFGE0000 issue for anyone who is running into it when trying to load into matches

Old issues pointed me to the fact it's a class breaking it, and I believe it was the Holtow M11 causing it (specifically the legendary animations)

When I checked my animation slots for various items, the Holtow legendary animations would cross over to every single class, gadget and gun. This also happens with every other item that has baked in legendary animations.

After testing it a bunch, my L with my Holtow M11 was seemingly the only one causing issues and I believe they're related - deleting and remaking the class fixed things. Trying to replicate the bug after without luck (which is good lol), but if anyone else runs into this, try deleting and remaking any class that has some item specific animations attached to them.

I have found a very consistent bug that I can reproduce with 100% accuracy, I play mostly quickcash but I think it would apply to other major gamemodes too. Let's say you are waiting to respawn and you have one teammate alive defending your cashbox. There is a brief moment AFTER your last teammate dies where you can still get the respawn, usually if you're smashing spacebar and they die RIGHT before your timers ready. When the game tries to pick a spawn point, it sees you have NO teammates on the map, and nearly always spawns you 220m away from your cashbox, guaranteeing that it will be lost, even though you got the spawn. I feel like this is not intentional and not the way you'd want the final round or quickcash to play. This also seems pretty easy to fix, just make it so if it can't find teammates for your spawn location it should look for a spot around 100m from the box like usual (if there's a cashout in progress), instead of picking the far corner you spawned in at the start of the match or something. I cannot tell you how many times we should have had a solid chance at defending the cashout but I'm spawned 200m+ away because my teammate dies while I'm spamming space to spawn. I also don't have permission to make a bug report but I feel like I encounter this issue daily and it throws the cashbox every time.

This lil guy right here says that it is the underlying internet connection. It's also reading the server for a couple seconds, you might be in a region with heavy traffic at the time - try changing region, or locking it to local if it's not and see if problems follow.

Try running the game on directX 11 (-dx11 ). If you play on a laptop try launching the game on a dedicated graphics card and when the game launches, go to settings and switch to an integrated GPU, this don't make much sense for me, but I had the same problem and it worked. You can also disable game overlay in discord steam and nvidia (if you use nvidia GPU)

By those standards verysirius/pepper salt will be number 1 no matter what till the end of the season. And firerise will be number 2. When we play each other it is a scramble. As one person loses 3 games worth and one person gains 3 worth. This system is good, and I agree you have to grind to be in the top 10. However if you win every game at lower ranks against us, you will eventually catch up to a point. If you think he should lose more then he should gain more. The top 10 in any game has to do with play time for sure and there is no really way to change/fix this.

There’s 100-200+ Rs dividing the top ten so at minimum 50 games behind eachother, if one loses 20 and one gains 20 it doesn’t really do much by those standards and that’s what’s busted.
Literally any other rank bronze to mid-high ruby would’ve lost at the very least a 1000 losing to a team w 114k less RS then them no matter what they were gaining but bc there top 5 and they’ve acquired all these points they can literally play worry free win or lose and still maintain the leaderboard

you just play the game and can feel it, theres other posts about it on Steam forums and it never got responded to. It's some kind of slow down or cursor drag mechanic towards near enemies, can really feel it when sniping compared to any other game. As a sniper main I can feel it everytime I play this game. I'd like to bring up an issue I've been having with The Finals and Streamlabs. It seems everytime I start streaming before opening the finals , I get extreme lag and frame drops to the point where the game is unplayable. Restarts to the game don't fix the issue and I have a pretty beefy computer so I'm not being limited by my hardware...

The only fix I've found so far is:

1. Restart my entire PC. (Which is detrimental to the stream but so is the game not functioning)
2. Start the Finals before starting Streamlabs (I've found its really important to let the shaders compile first before starting the stream)
3. Hope for the best.

Sometimes the lag comes back during random moments in gameplay but most of the time its negligible. Other times for instance, a heavy threw a smoke at me and my game proceeded to catch fire....

I don't know if this has something to do with the shaders precompiling while SL is recording my desktop... But I know some other games where the shaders are cached and I never have an issue.

My DM's are open if a dev would like more information. I can't make a bug-report cause I'm not a common chatter here. But this issue has been plaguing me and my stream for a few days now.

That's usually a ram/overclock issue

The program tries to access a point in memory that doesn't exist and crashes.
Usually means your system, most likely the ram isn't stable. Whether it be xmp or a cpu overclock or voltages not being correct for the overclock. Or just faulty RAM.

This game is a lot more sensitive to stability compared to any other game since it's very reliant on CPU and Ram

I just had a major bug in world tour. It failed to load me into the game gave me the reconnect option while also searching. Loaded a match but placed me as the default medium (not one that I have set up ie turret, goo, jump pad, glitch trap). It kept me in the map loading screen skipping class picking but maintained the correct game audio (I could head the match load in and people spawn and move). I had to exit the app and reload it to get into the match, however it kept the incorrect class. We were in top 2 and it put me into the next game as the correct class (heavy).

Looks like hardware/drivers issue. I had been undervolting CPU and it was rock-stable in all tests. But in Finals sometimes I had very rare random crashes. Reset bios settings to stock and enabled only XMP profile - and voila! Never had any crash yet.
Same with video card. Resetted setting to stock and the game now runs fine.

Overclocking (typically the CPU) can cause the crashes. Recent INTEL chips were reported to have all kinds of flaws that were causing programs to crash, including the finals. But you have AMD so that is not the issue.

I am. I've asked a lot of my friends who play and many of them are experiencing 20-30% dropp in performance. I've had them change their settings like taau to dlss. Or low to high settings and they've had similar experiences. Low fps when first get to lobby but then a bump in fps after opening their settings. could be that the vram is shitting the bed.. My 3080TI had the exact same problem as you described and would only do it in particular scenarios.. I replaced the cooling paste and got new cooling pads and didn't suffer from black screens anymore.
Don't get me wrong though, this is most definitely a Finals issue.. It being so intensive on hardware.. But yeah perhaps you could monitor your VRAM Temperatures whilst you're ingame

there are tools like hwinfo64 that show sensors.. Yeah i had the same thing it was driving me NUTS.. Every benchmark i did i got good scores and i could never replicate the blackscreens but the moment i'd play in this case anything with the Source engine i'd blackscreen.. it got worse over time and then even on the finals it started doing it..

I feel like DEMAT was stealthnerfed in the recent patch. The SyS$H bookshelves now need 2 charges, alot of floors need up to 3 charges to drop cashouts through and both on SyS$H and Seoul you now need 2 charges to enter from stairways into rooms. Why are so many walls multi-layered now like on Vegas? And even vegas got worse, but only because of the behavior of demat not because that much changed to the vegas walls itself. When you hacked from above you always fell down a floor, now you only hack the first layer and then keep on standing on the destructable part (which can be shot&punched to get through) while before you only had to destroy it when hacking from below to prevent it consuming a charge (in the Glamora District for example)

Hey there, in world tour does it hide enemy team deaths in the scoreboard and I have never noticed or is this a new change or bug? I feel like I was able to scoreboard and see which enemy was alive on the other teams and now even with a team wipe there are no skulls next to opponent names. “Mine has been bugging since this update specifically. Try going to THE FINALS (right click on the library on Steam) -> Properties, and under
General->Launch Options, put "-dx12" minus the quotes. If that doesn't work, try "-dx11" or "-d3d11".
I used to have it at -dx 11 but it crashed constantly even on a freshly reset pc. -dx12 stopped the crashing for me entirely.”

Yo Embark, check out the Video Quality Setting bug, it keep resetting to default for apparently no reason. I had to manual fix them back where the way it was, each time.

I actually didnt even take the coins into consideration... wow that makes so much sense now that I think about it. I usually always end up with fps drops when taking damage or dealing it. Is there a way to turn them off visually on our side?
