no, the heavy would always outdps a light then, and the gun optics are for special guns only and hvy is probably never going to get one
the XP54 and FCAR got sights to differentiate themselves from the other machine guns in their weapon class.
The heavy classes lmgs are supposed to have odd iron sights to make them harder to aim because if it was easy to aim you have some 50+ bullets to send at anyone and kill them very easily.

What do people think of the new burst pistol . It looks like it might have a little better dps at close range than the xp but it for sure has way worse dps at range

At mid range it honestly a preference whats better
at longer ranges ill just shoot at the knees with the famas and the last bullet will usually headshot

Suggestion: add the ability to swap gadget placement after death in ranked. It's a minor quality of life change that will only do us good. I had my gadgets in the wrong places after fiddling at the start of the match and it threw me off a couple of times
Question what do yall think are the best light gadgets for ranked? I primarily use evasive dash with taser grenade and vanish bomb but for ranked I switch grenade for glitch I used to use the teleport but im not sure whats best

yeah sometimes I'll throw the first one then hold the 2nd just in case I need to use it, and if I don't use it I still have to throw the 2nd one to get back the first after waiting for the cooldown
Yea I do the same to get out quickly so I can over extend but unless I have a few seconds to get away behind cover I can’t throw it down fast enough and activate it
But it’s good to keep near the cashout or get to high ground or even go in and do more risky stuff and use the second one to escape
I like to put the gateway on top the cash out and the other on a roof that looks down at it so my teammates and I can drop all types of grenades through to stop people from stealing

stun gun the way it works now is a frustrating gadget that you cannot do anything because light can just magically appear before you and get rid of 90% of your options with a click of a button

not what i meant, the breach charge only has 1 charge. tbh they could increase the damage of c4 to do a little more to the environment and back to 120 damage to players and it would still be fine (keeping it only 1 charge tho)
No, i do not care how many "buffs" they give to C4 after its nerf, 1 charge is ridiculous, C4 is what i used when i wanted to destroy the enviroment, and they just got rid of 1 charge in exchange for 15s less on cooldown, that aint cutting it, theres no reason to take it over RPG that can do the same amount of destruction

any explosive would detonate the c4 and any mines around it
they do so much more environment damage that if you did you'd destroy everything around it. you werent able to shoot the c4s and steal if there was another team alive

they might end up giving it 2 charges again, since they nerfed it so much bc no one uses it anymore

if you dont want it blowing up, then use data reshaper or deal with the consequences of the cash box being on the move once the c4 and all mines around it blows up

they give different classes different gadgets, guns, and specializations for a reason. its a team based objective game. yeah it sucks if you are solo queuing. each class is supposed to have different roles and do different things

in my opinion riot shield should be reworked in a way that the shield is behind your back while youre not using the weapon itself, sorta like a passive ability. because right now its kinda purposeless because its easy to counter by any grenade or gas, and its not consistent vs bullets because of hitbox, + its right click ability is almost pointless, enemies can still kill you by shooting in your feet y know? thats why i think it should be reworked, or maybe at least a hitbox of the shield needs to be fixed

if stun and invis are removed, light class would have to be completely reworked. they aren't good enough to warent them being removed tho. there is enough counterplay and the devs will probably continue to add counters over time

I'll agree, stun is pretty brain dead, any good light will just get a free kill off it but invis is fun needs skill to use. (managing your cooldown, using spacing so enemies can't see your shadow, using it flank and entry frag for your team)
i would be fine with invis if it were more easy to see MOVING lights and LOUDER, they can stay 100% invisible while not moving and if i die because i was ambushed by walking right into its nest i deserve to die

I think all footsteps should be easier to hear In general. I feel like I can only hear footsteps when someone is on the floor above me but can barely hear footsteps when a heavy rolls up behind me

you just have to stay aware of the sound cue for when they activate invis tbh the sound is pretty loud
im saying the sound cues or rather theres a lack of sounds sometimes
the worst is when you are fighting one guy and mid fight or right after you just die and then you see his teamate to your left in your blind spot
if they make footsteps and sound cues better, invis and other frustrations will decrease a lot

the burst pistol could use more ammo if not just a reflex so I'm incentivised to land headshots despite the low ammo count
the famas could use more damage or a more spammable burst, im tempted to request for a scope for it but tbh it wont mean much when you can still get shredded by other guns in close range
the slug shotgun could use an accuracy buff when moving and sliding around right now its in a very weird spot for fights not good enough for medium range as well as close range. i got shredded by most weapons just using jt.

Light's whole role is disruption and harassment. Picking stragglers, disabling util, or snaking cashouts and vaults is what light should be doing
All a light should be using is glitch and stun at a minimum, invis (or dash if you are better at living) and 4th slot is personal and up to imagination

well there are top 500 swords, it can be used but majority of the time for majority of the ranked experience there are better options
M11, Dash, Stun, Glitch, invis bomb. Dash = harder to hit = better suvivability. Glitches are to start fights and take util away, Stun is reserved for stragglers or med heals, etc

Suggestion: add the ability to swap gadget placement after death in ranked. It's a minor quality of life change that will only do us good. I had my gadgets in the wrong places after fiddling at the start of the match and it threw me off a couple of times

besides, LH1 has atrocious movesway and the ironsights feel like they dont re-align correctly after recovering from recoil
and people have been speaking that some weapons sights are missaligned as well, like the R.357
If sights are misaligned, sure fix those issues, but in the right hands the LH1 is a monster. But it’s on par with M11 if not better for its range and damage.

I'm not that good in the game. Lights are too fast, especially with dashes. You gotta understand that people should be able to play any gun that's available once they join that game.

In my opinion, any player that joins the game and have default weapons available, should be able to use them NORMALLY. I mean, those guns should be balanced +-. Revolver HAD higher damage and it was fair, since you only get 6 bullets. If your enemy, for example, will be Medium with akm, you won't kill him on early stages of your gameplay

the community still doesn't know which gun is better, some say the Lewis gun is still better others say the M60 is good after it's recent buffs. you should definitely try using both and see which one feels best for you
M60 has better recoil and ammo but the damage falloff is abysmal compared to the lewis.

I wish weapons had 2 or 3 more mastery levels so I can have a plain light green, some kind of orange flames skin, and maybe a gold skin since the plain white one looks like silver. So I can have a green gas grenade canister and M60. also because 9 or 10 items would fill out the bottom and be a nice rounded number
The stun gun is good as it it right now. The light class doesn’t need a nerf in anyway, except the cloaking device. In my opinion they could also remove the invisible ability completely like they did it with recon senses. Invis is the only thing I don’t like/ is annoying on the light class
In generell the light class needs more buffs.
- more hp or resistance (for example dmg stacks over time. First third of hits from one enemy player does very little dmg second third does normal dmg and last third does more dmg, so that you can go in and out more often without taking much dmg )

thats a single game mode that doesn't have proper balancing, ranked is a whole other story and where majority of the playbase will hate it if a lights on their team in ranked as only people that are very good make light decent in ranked, otherwise it's mostly throwing if you pick light in ranked
Yes, I agree that Light build takes skill. But using it with proper dashing can help you to always win 1v1 easily (if you're not fighting gamepad player of course)
When my friends and I joined the finals and opened ranked mode, we decided to have fun on 3 lights and won the game (not once). It was hella fun to destroy heavies together not going to lie
In my opinion, if you see that you literally s#ck on light, then just learn how to play him in quick/normal tournament or use other build. Ranked is for ranking up, so you should play your best build. Easy as that

was the a typo in patch notes? in 2.0 FCAR damage falloff from .67 -> .55. this patch notes says .67 -> .50?
So you just described a gadget that can single handedly get 3 free kills. The stun gun is not thought out at all, there is nothing else in the game that just gets you a free kill like that. I know that there are plenty of times that you can get stunned and manage to kill the light but that’s only if then light is playing with his controller upside down.

yeah the whole appeal of the KS is that it's a ridiculously oversized pump action shotgun. I like that it's generally more accurate, has higher velocity, and is way better at breaking walls now
but it feels a lot less like the KS-23, being weaker in exchange for being faster and snappier
any player saying fcar shouldnt have gotten nerfed is a medium with anxiety having to maybe learn a real recoil pattern, FCAR still shreds within 99% of the ranges you'll encounter and engage from

They shouldn't have nerfed the ks23 shotgun or the facr. All shotguns need a mayjor buff. They feel like it's doing the damage a pistol should. And pistols currently need nerfed. They also need to add ranged weapons for medium and heavy class. Other than that I have no complaints. But this right here is not weapon "balancing"
@silent swallow i apologize in advance for pinging a dev, but i see no other process for this. I've gone through every official channel such as support tickets since launch with no avail. Thermal vision is incredibly bugged and has not gotten a fix or even a mention. Thermal makes invis players completely unseen if there is a skybox behind their player model, as well as it being incredibly inconsistent in smoke. This gadget has been unusable for seeing cloaked players or seeing in smoke since launch which is the entire point of the gadget

it was a good weapon just nobody was using it made my way to diamond easily with it.

You probably shouldn't be able to do on the tankiest class loaded with protective gadgets on a weapon that has good structural damage. The safest class in the game shouldn't have damage that's competitive with above average TTK.
The weapon fills a niche. It has destructive utility, freeing up gadget slots, and high burst damage. The weapon isn't good for dueling nor should it be. Popping out from behind a mesh shield or deployable shield to surprise someone with an accurate, easy to hit 100 dmg to finish them off is excellent in skirmishes

Exactly it was never good for dueling it depends on how good you are with the weapon the given situation and the team, ofcourse the KS was a heavily team based gun, but nevermind you wont get it cause you probably never got good enough with it. +plus weapons ttk is much better now, it just lost its combos that made it viable in battles dont know why you are promoting the nerf of an already weak gun. Old KS was something like this - Enemy very close = Enemy dead. Like every other gun, but just in a different way.

It's literally this simple: the gun is intended to fill a niche. It was underperforming in that niche (utility) while being inconsistently way too good with 1 second kills. The KS-23 could use some minor adjustments, like longer fall-off distance and potentially even quicker animations, but it fills its purpose. Either learn to use the gun to its strengths or pick a different weapon.

Light main here but it’s just so much easier getting wins when I play medium in ranked even when I’m playing it at a mediocre level. The free rezes and healing is just so much free utility and more consistant 1v1 potential than lights sadly

I prefer the LH1 personally, it’s not as good at taking out lights up close but lets you burn flank and camp objectives effectively from a safe distance where you can’t easily be 1v1 by med with an FCAR

I think the revolver needs to having a fanning mechanic when hip fired. You can rail off with a 15 shot LH1 from close range. Why not a 6 shot revolver that already shoots slower? This would give the revolver a more substantial place in the meta as a tool mediums could rely on at close range but fire slow at long. As a way to balance this the weapon could just have a slower fire rate. (Remove bloom when ads but fire slower, then add the bloom to the hip fire fanning)
