I’m an avid user of mines on medium and I also agree this doesn’t change my normal strategies much just forces me to play a bit more aggressive to clean up and kills my mines soften up for me

iv been playing this game since launch the sa1216 did not do shit, instantly got int ogood lobbys after 1 day of playing. there was people saying the sa1216 is shit n it was. there was games where people used the sa1216 and did shit alls before nerf an there was stragetic players thats demlished heavys with sa1216 n soon as i got in the discord the shit players are complaining the gun is OD an powerful after a trash content maker played his face game and got a good game with the sa1216 with him just knocking down bots. all of a sudden the devs dropped the damage to 7. from the start no one used sa1216, now the gun dose the same damage as a light and medium guns or even less now i gotta pump atleast my whole clip into medium light is like 5-6 shots and dont even forget after 2-3 pumps u gotta twist and turn the thing in the middle of a fight in order to shoot more bullets. that is just bullshit and unfair because of all these crying babes.

Anybody else noticing that swords and sledge hammers can kill you when there's easily 10 feet between you and the enemy as well as shotguns being VERY hit or miss? I LOVE this game but the amount of times I've died because my first and/or second shot did literally zero damage despite me getting hit markers is appalling.

I would really like to see a fast fire rate weapon come to the medium class arsenal, in my personal opinion I think a Kriss vector or a bizon would be a perfect fit for the medium class because of its tactical yet strategic playstyle. The main issue: it's too slow. If a player can perform well with the sniper then I would bet money they can do even more for their team and do even better using just about anything else. Snipers can be carried to victory but they can't carry the team to victory.

ok I'm bringing this over from the #heavy-build-main discussion, but since its mostly about mines I'll reiterate here. I feel mines and c4 should be able to be destroyed without going off. As is if you sneak up on a cashout because a team is fighting a floor up/hiding 3 rooms away, you can't get rid of the mines/c4 without setting them off. This encourages teams to just throw a ton of mines/explosives on the cashout and then use their guns to shoot and/or shoot the mines to make them go off themselves.

This leads to the current gameplay where every cashout box becomes a nuclear wasteland for minutes at a time, and if you're a melee weapon you can't get rid of the C4 without dying in the process. (If anything, C4 for sure should be destroyable with a melee)

I feel this change would encourage more clever mine placement and usage. Placing gas mines in attics to choke out attics, or flames to shut down stairs. It would encourage and reward players looking around and using cautious play, while still allowing mines to function for area denial

I’m a heavy main and c4 barrels ABSOLUTELY need to be removed. They should revert the C4 nerf and just not allow them on barrels. Sure, you can counter it, but it isn’t fun for anyone but the heavy. Have you played much ranked? it may seem fun and creative now, but when the outcome of multiple ranked games are being determined by the funny 1 shot gadget, its less fun. And keep in mind im a heavy main. Ive one shot mfs just as much as ive been one shot. Id way rather use the C4 in other creative ways. Such as setting them up on 2 floors so you can blow the cashout all the way down where your whole team is set up. Or throwing it around a corner as someone apes you. Honestly I struggle to see cloaked, so I rely on audio for it. If you listen to music or have the audio really low, that might contribute to part of your problems.

Wouldn't be surprised if some people adjust their monitor settings to make it easier to see subtle movements for them as well

A big issue with lights i think is that they do not contribute much to team. Like the medium has healing, he can find incoming enemies using recon and can defend using turret, heavy can protect incoming shots using the dome and shield abillity and also the goo gun. so, I'm not sure what would need to be changed, but it does not feel right that a single APS turret can completely remove a heavy from the game if they're running the MGL. Especially if more than one team has one or if they're being turret stacked. Especially since you can't swap weapons in ranked, its essentially a throw pick of a weapon no matter how good your are because you're gambling on a single gadget not existing in the match, much less multiple of them.

I think the game is perfectly balanced. The amount of nerf/buff opinions is horrible and if they add more equipment it would fan the fires. We just need more maps, modes, and cosmetics right now. My opinion, much love.

I think the reason everyone hates the stun gun is bc it just isn't fun to play against. It's effective because there isn't a counterplay. You are just stuck not being able to play the game for a few seconds while you get killed and then have to wait even longer to respawn. People will always find things to complain about if they are good and don't use them but better mechanics have counterplays. Example: Turrets can but destroyed, their mounting wall can be destroyed, they can be glitched, etc. They are good and have their place but anyone who understands the game can play against them. Stun gun doesn't really have that. Either the user misses or they hit and you lose (unless they are dumb and stand in range of your hip fire).

Generally, in PvP games, hard CC is often significantly limited for this reason. It makes the game less fun for the targets. It's why games that are both PvE and PvP nerf hard CC in PvP modes. I both understand why they have the stun gun in the game and also wish they took it out lol. I'd rather it be replaced with an effective gadget for the Light build that is also not rage inducing for everyone else.

Yep. That's my main issue with that being the answer. Which is why I would rather them take it out entirely and balance light in other ways. Such as focus on making them more useful in securing objectives. Also, I don't think they need more survivability or damage. They are already annoying as hell to fight. They are supposed to be hit-and-run fighters. If you stop moving you're dead. Don't like it, play another build.

If stun gun was on any class other than light I might be miffed by it. But lights die fast when you hit them, and they have to be up close to use it. (where they're easy to hit)

My gut reaction to getting surprise attacked is to run for cover, it only took me 1 match with a stungun light to unlearn that behaviour and start shooting back when I'm tazed.

Probably one of the two mines and an aps, zipline is very situational compared to jump pad and tracking dart is ass compared to sonars. Aps I'd recommend running with turret, but its still good on its own

Yup, the best way to show devs that something is broken is to use it to make the point. Their decision making is in analytics. Based on how often I see that combo in all game modes, It's a no brainer that they'll adress it in the next balance patch

No, but if they're not moving you don't necessarily need to know their exact location. You can spray and prey in the direction and likely hit them. Toss grenades, a sonar, or just simply wait for it to run out.

Tbh there's a certain item in tf2 that I'd rather see it as. Forget which one, but it drains super fast when you move and doesn't drain at all when you stand still. Feel like this would work better in the game

I think it just needs to be easier to spot and have less duration and a higher reactivation cost. Those 3 would make it decently balanced and have actual strategy to it instead of just cloaking before battle and again any time you get shot

Higher reactivation cost I heavily agree with. Tf2 made up for that by draining the remainder of it after leaving it. Of course, it lasted longer and charged faster, but same logic. Don't live in cloak
