SBMM is cooked on OCE. I've got 2 mates who never played ranked fps before and are in bronze 4. Why on earth are they being put up against gold+ and getting deleted for the entire match?
Getting absolutely stomped in the first round for a whole evening is not a good experience for new people.

Phone numbers aren't the problem when sim cards cost 99 cents, its the fact that SBMM places people that are diamond in skill but with bronze title vs sweaty diamonds so you never feel like you're progressing. Ranked should be ranked based matchmaking where if you're bronze, you fight bronze people

Besides my mates issue of getting stomped in bronze, I want to play ranked against people my own rank so I can see actual progression until I hit a wall.

Diamond being in the same lobby as bronze doesn't teach you to be better at the game when you get insta-deleted with no time to even react.
I'm shitty about this because OCE ( no matter the game) has a small player base (despite spending more per capital on games than anywhere else in the world). This kind of match making send people away from the game when the community is this small.

This game is still fresh, think about fortnite in its OG days before cranking builds kicked in years after. There isn't a defined meta, team comp or anything that stands out from a beginner to a pro aside from mechanical skill and game sense - actually, the nuke and heavy issue is still prevalent maybe thats why your mates are getting instakilled. But in all honesty though, you can't fault the matchmaking, the finals can't just wish for more people to play ranked. They're kind of forced to queue us with different ranks since just about a few weeks ago we were just complaining about having no ranked games in OCE whatsoever. If you're disatissfied with the state of ranked in OCE, then go to asia where they have a larger playerbase no? just gl with the cheaters ig. That data point was highlighting that even though we spend the most on games we have the smallest player base, which is such a weird thing.
We should technically have a sizable player base based on that data but we have the opposite.
So it's a valid point to make that yes, we should have more players to even out the match making

The answer is yes, XANE is incorrect. Before a patch was done, console in OCE would play ranked, but not on OCE servers. This left the pool of players for Ranked OCE PC very low, people were in queue for days without a game until the patch let console players queue OCE servers. But now that is resolved so yes there are games in ranked. Depending on time of day, currently there is a short queue
