That's unfortunate. The local laws in my area tend to ban local animals as pets. Like, you can keep a rat, mongoose, hamster, but can't keep a squirrel or a skunk (yes I've seen adorable skunks as pets in other parts or the world, and squirrels are practically rats imo)
