In my last hoi mp game of I remember correctly I just spent hours watching naval tutorials so I could create a super op Japanese navy. When I declared on the Allie’s I literally had my entire industry pumping out the destroyers with torpedo tubes, heavy cruisers that are mobile aa turrets, and the heavy cruisers that are just spamming light attack. Built a super navy. Whenever I encountered another navy I would win. But I was unsuccessful in efficiently moving my death stack to where the enemy was and I kept getting evaded so lost game overall

It's a pretty fun, space ship royal/pvp game, similar to sea of seas style battle where you can board others ships, steal or damage their equipment. It's alot of fun

Unlike sea of thieves though, you can find better loot to have the advantage with better guns/shields/equipment for your ship. so looting does pay off

spent an hour jumping off buildings and wallriding down like hell
also if you jump at a building without bailing or on your board you can "slide" down the wall with your hands (you get zero control though and there's no contact with your hands for some reason) and if you move your stick backwards from the wall and jump you can slow down your fall with a wall hop

in certain scenarios (haven't figured out WHAT exactly) if you wall hop you can convert ALL downwards momentum to horizontal momentum, allowing you to jump really far

only works on buildings with flat smooth windows you can't grab on (the whole wall slide thing)

Literally playing the game gets u more, and not to mention how theres more free rewards than whats in the store(also the store fucking sucks, the rewards for playing like the anime grip tape and black crop top are more appealing)

the only real complaint i have are the type of people doing the "crazy stuff" that actually take no skill what so ever then posting it online, spreading the idea that this skate game is too crazy

The progression is fine, its lootbox based but its fair as u dont reroll duplicates and the rewards, like i said, are all good

The only concern I have about Arc Raiders is it's longevity. Like, once you've leveled up the guns and upgrade benches etc. what else is there? Would be really interested in hearing some thoughts from people who've already tested it

It had me worried about balance too
And the finals wasn't balanced until maybe season 5
But honestly Embark has been so innovative on every single front that I put my whole trust in them

I think it looks excellent overall, I'm just worried that after some point there isn't really going to be a reason to drop into the maps because you've already seen them and leveled the guns etc. At which point, you would just have max level people gunning it out in the middle of the map, and for what? I guess you'll get to this point with any game anyway, but still. I guess they could include larger maps with different mechanics like longer stays and different objectives etc. to spice things up for the long run

And at that point I guess the next level would be to try to take on the boss arcs

Yep! Although I think The Finals is inherently different in that the objective of the game is simply to win, which of course doesn't have an end state other than winning more games. Whereas in Arc Raiders you might quickly get to the point where you feel "done" at some point

I just saw an article in a local gaming magazine here talking about upcoming games in 2025, and they mentioned everything from Battlefield to some rather obscure games, but no Arc Raiders. Marketing take note!

I'm not too worried about it.
For example: Rockstar dropped RDO like a brick, I've had access to everything the game has to offer for a long time.
It was rinse and repeat, but still fun in it's own way. I have more than 1000 hours in that game according to steam.

Knowing Embark will do their best to make good maps, maybe release new ones every now and then, add new cosmetics, weapons or other stuff as we go. It will keep the feeling of the game "alive".

I hope so to. But again, isn't RDO quite different in that it's a persistent map, vs. in Arc where it's a drop in 30 minutes and then back out which creates a very different style of play and takes something away from the sense of "belonging" or persistence that you'd get on a persistent map?

I'm not overly worried, It's just the one thing I am most curious about how they will go about trying to solve.

I guess we are about to find out in a months time anyway

There may be changes to our time on the surface as we go. Could be that certain events allow us to stay up longer, or maybe it gets randomized, or we get gear that increases our survivability, who knows.

It was an extraction shooter by yager it had a persistent map that lasted 6 hour,(servers had to restart) every 20 or 30 minutes i forget a storm would start, map would darken and rain with thunder and lightning. After the storm any POI not inhabited by players would refresh, new players could drop in at just about any time so you were never safe
