Placidusax is definitely the hardest dragon but he’s never been a tough boss for me. He sits still too often, it’s really easy to find a nice opening and just wail on him.

Midir back in DS3 still stands as my favourite dragon in the series. Not just because he’s hard, or unique, or interesting, but because he moves just enough and covers just enough openings that you’re never in a situation where you’re doing too much or too little damage.

And that fucker keeps his dukes up the whole fight, he is hard all the way through, until the cinematic visceral

Erdtree favour and greatshield talisman for health stamina and durability, great Jarsenal so I can wear heavier armor and the fingerprint stone shield while still being able to midroll.

Because wearing a mix of banished knight and scaled armor, some of the heavier armors in the game, with the heaviest shield in the game, and still being able to dodge properly, helps me become surprisingly hard to kill, when I also add in another about 30% DR through a mix of incantations and tears

The rule of thumb for main game is If they got a phase 2, it’s at 60% or 50%, DLC mixes it up, and some bosses start phase 2 as early as 75%.

||1. Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame: The lore implications, the buildup before, The fight itself with a literal demigod of destruction, I love everything about this fight. I cannot put it into mere words how cool i think this boss is.
2. Messmer the Impaler: Fucking shitshow boss in all the right ways. Everything Malenia should have been, without being oppressively annoying through unavoidable BS and lifesteal. Masterclass boss.
3. Divine Beast Dancing Lion: Gets my award for "coolest phase change" on account of having three separate phase 2's he swaps between. Cool design, cool fight, wish he wasnt a camera boss
4. Radahn, Consort of Miquella: Insane lore implications, really cool idea that we get to fight a full-power Radahn and more, but this fight is unstomachable without most/all scadutree fragments. He just has way too much health, and phase 2 is like trying to fistfight a dying star, for better and for worse
5. Commander Gaius: A horseback boss that doesnt actually suck. Interesting design, cool attacks. Too much health tho.
6. Scadutree Avatar: Only putting him above Romina because phase 3 made me feel bad, poor fucker is just doing his job. That being said, why TF is the only three phase boss in the whole game just the same dude three times over
7. MOMMYRomina, Saint of the Bud: She's not bad, she's just not interesting. Or even very hard. Cool design though
8. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight: She must be real nasty without a shield because she was downright boring with one. Really cool design though
9. Putrescent Knight: Do you like how much night calvalries move around and not let you hit them? What if that was a 5 minute boss with frostbite and molotovs? Just let me hit you god damnit.
10. Metyr, Mother of Fingers: a whole lot of work to unlock a kinda mid boss. She struggles to fight you and doesnt have any health. Just kinda boring in any venue but lore implications

3. ||Divine Beast Dancing Lion|| I loved this guys second phase, first phase was a bit ehhhh though
4. ||Rellana, Twin Moon Knight|| Her second phase was visually beautiful, but the trampoline attack one shotting you is so unnecessary
5. ||Romina, Saint of The Bud|| Visually very cool, but i feel like she could do with more moves cause she seemed to cycle the same 3 for most of the fight
6. ||Scadutree Avatar|| The only boss fight that i genuinely consider to be bad, third phase was unnecessary, moves were annoying to dodge and it didn't even look cool visually

there's a shield in the dlc has has better resistance than the fingerprint shield, tou get it pretty late though and also you cant use ashes of war with it equipped

New Elden Ring DLC boss tierlist (imo) SPOILERS AHEAD

1. ||Messmer the Impaler|| fight felt so clean, beautiful visuals, sick intro and also the weapon you get from his remembrance is cool as fuck, picture perfect imo

2. ||Radahn, Consort of Miquella|| Sick fight, insanely challenging (not in a bad way) - only thing holding this fight back from being #1 is the bs move he uses at ~20% health

3. ||Divine Beast Dancing Lion|| Second phase is honestly insane, I loved it so much and the fight felt super nice too - great starter boss to introduce you to the DLC

4. ||Rellana, Twin Moon Knight|| Similar to above, picture perfect phase 2, only reason it's a bit behind is that bs trampoline 1 tap if you get hit

5. ||Putrescent Knight|| Nothing too much, but still a good fight

6. ||Commander Gaius|| Huge hitbox problem, if it didn't have this then it would move up above ||Rellana||

7. ||Romina, Saint of the Bud|| Nice visuals and decent feeling fight, only reason it ranked so low was because it felt like this boss cycled the same 3 moves in phase 2

8. ||Metyr, Mother of Fingers|| Average fight, not too flashy, but similar problem to the boss above where the same moves kept being cycled

9. ||Scadutree Avatar|| Only fight i considered to be bad, as i mentioned in the previous list - third phase was completely unnecessary and overtuned because they had to find a way to make it difficult - not an AWFUL fight but it fell short DLC standards. Just use fire to get this boss over and done with.
