As part of a presentation to investors (via Eurogamer), CA's owner Sega attributed the studio's ill-fated push into live service to "the favorable winds of the early Covid-19 period, coupled with the strong performance of each title," which led Sega down a path of "accelerating more, even in areas where those studios have not tried yet for further growth." In other words, Sega decided to push the boat out, only to realise no one on board knew how to sail.

"To put it simply, Creative Assembly was good at offline games in the RTS genre," Sega boss Haruki Satomi told investors, "but they took on the challenge of developing Hyenas, an online game in the FPS genre… Although the game itself was good, we decided to cancel the development of Hyenas because we did not think it would reach a quality that would satisfy our users."

"We have decided to focus again on the strength of each studio," said Satomi, which we can take to mean that Creative Assembly has been directed to get back to work on things more like Total War and less like Alien: Isolation and Hyenas.

Basically, SEGA had no idea where to take HYENAS. While HYENAS did what it did, SEGA didn't think it would be able to keep operating it for long enough, and due to the fact that it might not be able to reach a wide audience.

So... they decided to kill it off. And now they're refocusing Creative Assembly as an RTS focused studio going forward.

TL;DR

SEGA didn't know what the fuck to do with HYENAS and decided it wouldn't be worth the effort of continuing with it, thus... leading the game being scrapped completely.

I have a gut feeling that this will make possibly SEGA start to scrap its push of live service games

Yeah, harder to hit sniper shots imo and AR spread feels worse. Bloom is inherient in FN which is the worst part of that game or any shooter that has it for ADS firing. Rather there be recoil patterns to learn than be punished by a percentage. Otherwise, the game is super fun, I am enjoying new season.

but the Nemesis AR with sniper scope is ultra OP, strongly recommend grabbing it instead of sniper rifle, like honestly

other than that, seeing Vice City again makes me happy, finally

Although I am pretty sure the overall fidelity is just** slightly **better than RDR2's and the graphics may look better due to improved shaders, filters and postFX effects, because RDR2 is kinda gloomy and full of blur/bloom at times not to mention ever lasting mist everywhere
when looking at still shots of GTA VI trailer I can see many improvements and that this game on max settings will be a definitive eye candy, but also I can notice that this game has a potention for a really massive range in terms of PCs that can run it if you tweak settings properly, just like GTA V has where you can run this game on a damn potato and game still will look acceptable.

and also a fun fact - these screenshots are made on almost max settings, on a pc that has i5-8400 and gts 1060 6gb, I have stable'ish 30fps unless I enter Saint Denis, then it drops to like 25 or 20, but i just need to turn down one setting and i again have normal fps of 30-35

Listen, if my PC can run RDR2 on almost max settings this game offers, apart from few useless settings that are there just to eat your fps like water simulation or resolution upscaling, then it also will be able to run GTA VI but I guess on medium or something

cyberpunk patch later today. with improvements to path-tracing and ray-reconstruction, also mentioning a new setting which apparently minimizes ghosting - so far, ghosting while using path-tracing and ray-reconstruction is a big issue, so much that path-tracing looks really bad in motion. apparently it's less of an issue when playing on 4k res, but yeah I'm on 1440p, I don't have a 4090
curious to see if that's gonna look good now, I'd like to play it in path-tracing, performance wise it ran fine, just looked really bad
