My opinion on FH5 is - the game itself is really fun but the online part is atrocious including the seasons and series, it's just boring repetetive tasks over and over again and the only reason to do them is to get a exclusive car that is unable to be bought normally.

and my guess is that its only gonna get worse because frontier refuses to add anything new to the basic experience and instead are fully focused on thargoid stuff barely anyone even wants to play, because the preparations you have to do before killing at least one interceptor are so demotivating and poorly designed, no wonder people are leaving this game at mass

yeah I wanted to get into thargoid combat, but after a few weeks of on and off play, slowly getting to the places for parts, farming the parts/materials for forerunner weapons (or is it sentinel? idk) I just stopped playing, got bored

this is really depressing to see because I really love Elite and I really dont want to see it die because of Frontier's incompetence

like, the game is really REALLY good, its just that it's boring as fuck after you do all "solo" stuff, unless you have at least two more people to play with.
By "solo" stuff I mean simply buying your dream ship, upgrading it, securing your bank acc with decent amount of credits ect.

The problem with Elite is that it's slowly bleeding out because barely anyone cares about it, new players will need to specifically google term "space sim game" in google to even have a CHANCE on seeing it pop up and even then there is a massive chance that even after they buy it - they'll just dump it after few hours because they will notice how boring the game is at the first glance.
new player experience in Elite is another thing that would need fixing and improvement, maybe copy EVE Online and add a few hour story campaing to introduce all major stuff you need to know before actually jumping into the real game

no content creators, no or barely marketing, basically an abandonware because updates bring zero new stuff (last ship was added around 5-6 years ago 💀 ) and the only time a casual gamer can discover Elite is through his friends, specific google or steam search or occassional developer sale on steam

I own SC, spent a lot of time in it and gotta say that this game has DISGUSTINGLY massive amounts of bugs and glitches, optimization sucks ass and gameplay is bare bones.
But apart from that I enjoy it for what it is, it's still in very active developement and overall if you manage to ignore or simply don't mind the bugs, glitches, optimization and a really small amounts of stuff to do - it's a pretty enjoyable experience

I can recommend the beloved space sim trio for sure -Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, No Man's Sky
If you're into MMOs there's EVE although EVE is kinda hard to get into and stay hooked on it
You can also wait for Starfield but this game i'd play through game pass only since I'm not so sure if Starfield will be worth those 70$

I do have elite dangerous and no man’s sky, will definitely look into star citizen, Starfield is definitely game pass until it proves it’s stable enough to spend 70$ on and not just your average 2020 and beyond AAA game running on 20 fps

If you're fine with all the issues i listed earlier, that is poor optimization bugs, glitches and pretty small amount things to do then i'd just say "fuck it" and buy SC now, you'd have a space game to hop into from time to time that's for sure.
I bought SC just for the sake of experiencing something you cannot currently anywhere else - complete control on your character in terms of getting in and out of the ship, the way how everything is physicalized and because it's simply impressive to look at from technical standpoint.

These are minimum specs to run this game in stable 30fps in cities, 40fps anywhere else on the planets and over 60fps in space with moderate amounts of lag and freezes
SC is demanding asf

people with rtx 4000 series barely reach 50fps in cities

but well, it is heavily unoptimized so it's understandable to some degree

first rule of elite - never fly without a rebuy, you gotta drill that rule into your mind.
basically that means you should always have at least three times the money of the cost of your ship rebuy, so in the event of getting blown up you have cash to repair it, if you dont have cash - you lose the ship permanently with all stuff you upgraded on it

i saw too many new pilots waste dozens of hours of grind being permanently lost due to not having money for a rebuy

I knew I had it somewhere! and there it is, chilling on my channel marked as unlisted, I found the three minute timelapse (1:30h sped up by like 300% or something, can't really remember) of me sitting on the super-fast moon orbiting New Africa in the Epsilon Indi system.
The moon itself has a cool backstory behind it because it shouldn't be moving that fast (makes one trip around the planet in a 1min 24sec) but players loved it so much that Frontier decided not to fix it and just left it there.
