best thing you can do is get fiber that's not Comcast and an ISP that has open contracts instead of closed ones like 90% of ISP's, so if you have routing issues or want to improve routing they can actually do it without locking you to a routing table determined by the closed contracts they pay people lol

this is the primary reason, yeah. infrastructure in the US is generally worse than in the more densely populated parts of europe for this reason, not just internet connections
but there's also a history of anti-consumer business practices by large american ISPs where offering bad service and refusing to upgrade networks to high-speed broadband was the norm
now there are huge differences between areas -- some have google fiber, some still only have extremely low speed copper DSL lines

I've put like 130 hours into 2042, and I honestly don't know if I want to go back to it even for season 3. So many technical issues compared to previous battlefield games, even compared to BFV and that was considered by many to be the worst Battlefield. BF1 runs better on my pc in 1440p than 2042 does on 1080p, and even on low settings it still looks miles better than 2042.

I was playing season 2, I've since uninstalled the game since it was just frustrating that I was having so many performance issues with every other patch. Sometimes it gets a lot better, and then others would randomly make the experience significantly worse, especially with server connectivity problems (I have solid internet so it's not my connection)

Deciding to support 2042 past season 4 is a weird decision considering bf 1 and 5 have more players. They could make more money by supporting those games.
They probably realized next game won't be ready by 2023 so they trying to fill the gap a little bit.

2142 was the entire reason I was excited for 2042. I never could play it before the servers got taken offline so I was hoping the game would be near futuristic. About as much as Final Stand was. But it wasn't and it annoyed me to no end.

Idk what the controls for helis and whatnot were like in previous BF games, but man I just didn't have the patience to learn in 2042
Honestly there was like no tutorial or anything so I just stuck to tanks and infantry
But ye I def agree, if it's meant to be such a massive all-out war, then it should feel like that instead of just infantry and smaller vehicles

next patch they're redistributing the vehicles across more different categories so jets aren't competing with helicopters and stuff, but most vehicles only get one of each type
so one jet, one attack helicopter, one transport helicopter, one light transport, one armored transport (actually maybe multiple of the transport types idk), one MBT

i just read it again and realized that the example they gave is specifically for the Spearhead map, which is advertised as infantry-focused
With the reworked allocation of Vehicles and their availability, you can expect Maps and Modes to play a part in the amount available to you.
For example with Conquest 128 Players on Spearhead will consist of 4 Light Transport, 1 Armored Transport, 1 Light Armour, 2 Heavy Armour, 1 Air Transport, 1 Attack Helicopter and 1 Jet Per Team alongside In-World Civilian Vehicles.
perhaps e.g. 128p Hourglass will have more vehicles since it's different for every map and mode now
that would be suuuuper tight
they don't even have to rework the map if they give 4 tanks and 8 transports to each team, it could just be armor divisions duking it out in the sand dunes
(though, knowing DICE, they won't nail this first try and will adjust the numbers of vehicles slowly over time)

Same for me. It was always buttery smooth on 32p Rush on medium settings but performance would suffer a bit in bigger modes

I have experienced thermal throttling from both the CPU and GPU in the past, but that was mainly due to the dust buildup that I unfortunately missed whenever I cleaned my laptop in the past. It should be perfectly fine now

Ha.. fun story.. my gpu had no next to no thermal paste.. so I got lucky the heatsink and gpu die must have been near perfectly flat because it managed to stay in the high 85 degrees for almost a year before the what I presume was supposed to be the thermal paste turned to dust and I got instant blue screens every time.
Had to rebuild it twice and now its working somewhat.. its crippled but it works
