They should never last as long as the stun gun does in a fast paced game like The Finals, but not having CCs just turns the game into a frag fest and I might as well be playing Team Death match at that point.

I mean it'll put additional load to your GPU and if your GPU is the bottleneck you'll lose FPS, which is the case for me. I go from ~130 to ~110 FPS, playing on 1440p.
go to nvidia control panel, then "DSR - Factors", select 1.78x DL (look at the image). you can also select 2.25x DL, it's even better resolution but even more frames lost, I'd suggest go 1.78x and try that first.
then below it, "DSR - Smoothness" means sharpening, that value depends on your res and monitor, I'd say go with 0.50 and play around with it, lower number means more sharpening. also you don't have to restart your game when adjusting the sharpening, it gets applied once you tab back into the game, so that is nice.

now you go into the game, it needs to be in fullscreen mode. then you can select a higher resolution in the graphics settings, do that. you also want to run DLSS - Quality then. you could also lower it to balanced to slighlty get more frames again (but ofc also lower your resolution by that a bit). maybe that looks better to you
