Idk I like the rank update I always thought it was dumb that plat was basically the default rank for anyone who played 30+ games and that the actual divisions didn't mean anything outside of diamond. Now I think there's a real diff between a plat 1 player, a plat 4 player, and like a gold 3 player y'know?

It's honestly an issue with how placements are done, it should really be like Rocket League where you have to win games to earn the rewards, which allows players to be placed higher in the ladder without instantly giving them rewards they shouldn't have

i think placements for early season are awful cause they squeeze everyone into high gold/low plat off placements and lobbies end up really unbalanced for the first 3 weeks of the season and then they smooth out a little. they still kinda suck rn but def a lot better than early season

I like Rocket League's system a ton win 10 games and you go up a reward tier (win 10 games for bronze rewards, win 20 for silver, etc.) but wins are only counted if they're at that reward level or higher, so a silver player can only get up to silver rewards until they start winning games in gold

Season 3 honestly did more harm than good, especially with TA. Yes, Season 3 added a lot of content, but most of that content is either entirely useless (and always has been) or was oppressive for a LONG time, only recently being put into check. TA split the community, alienated the core playerbase, put development resources where they shouldn't have been, and was WIDELY despised. Also, Kyoto is often regarded as the worst map in the game by far, running poorly and having terrible flow. There were more balance changes, yes, but the game was also INCREDIBLY unbalanced at the time, which made more changes far easier without disrupting the current balance. S8 was simply just... mundane. It didn't add a ton of content but the content that was added didn't almost destroy the core of The Finals. There were a ton of quality of life changes and backend improvements (like actually a working replay system in this game is black magic I have no idea how Embark did it), but nothing major for casual players. BFR certainly wasn't a good call with poke meta though, lol. I'd argue that they're both on the bottom, but S3 was worse.

Its true that the change grom cashout to TA wasent the best choice for ranked but on the topic of most of the content added in s3 being useless is definetly something i dont agree with considering wintch and thermal bore both items that were added in s3 were game changeing and still see use to this day even after the nerfs

Secondly while the ta may have split the playerbase it has been on the decline as far back as season 2 and ta isint the sole reason because of that theres a multitude of reasons for that witch i wont go into

Kyoto being a bad and unstable map i can understand as ive struggled on it but the addons to it over time and the restructureing have made it a playable map.

And while yeah it is true we got some quality of life improvements in s8 it doesent really change the fact that the overall meta especially in terms of specializations hasent changed much since s3 hence why i hold it in a higher regard then s8 because at the time atleast while it wasent the best season it was still better then most of the seasons we have now.
