capping your fps is usually much better performance wise since having it uncapped means you're letting the game use all of your available resources
just set it to your fps to your monitors refresh rate

frame gen depends greatly on difference between your fps and your wanted target, the greater the difference, the slower frame and less good it is. if you wanna go from 240 which you can produce, to 360, its much less apparent than going from 60 to 240
