Recently it's been really good actually, playing from CB1 to now I've seen the ups downs of the balance. Casual players, you get your skins by grinding the battlepass, you don't need a fake ranked tier system too for weapons, it makes sense to keep the skins behind ranked. The emerald is just a milestone to show how much ya played in general, and now it can be done while playing ranked, so everyone should just hop in ranked now.

The best way to handle this is Friend any players you run across that are good. Whether it be from the lfg section here or solo queue. After time, you'd have filtered bad players from good ones, and as you see people online, invite them to your party. After doing this consistently, youll have someone online consistently

Tbh, I don’t think people really care about flaunting gold or plat skins, so why not make those available to both WT and Ranked? Diamond and Ruby could still be limited to Ranked whilst Emerald is limited to WT. It would still allow everyone to get some form of “ranked” skin but limit the ones intended for ranked or wt in their respective categories. It’d also allow people to earn more than one gold/plat item in a season which I don’t think anybody should be upset about

Casual players don't need ranked skins if its not ranked. The battlepass is a progression system of playtime to reward skins, they shouldn't need a whole other way to get skins based on playtime in the season.

Another option would be to give WT and Ranked their own respective unlocks. They could both follow the Ranked system of gold->plat->emerald/diamond, but ranked could get an animated skins rather than the normal static one which could be inherited by WT instead.

It would still incentivize players to play ranked for a better skin, but it also wouldn’t leave players who don’t want to play ranked out from getting more skins besides just emerald

It's not the same at all. Ranked directly depends on having a large player base for the system to work. WT doesn't. Having it so WT is exclusive actively hurts the casual experience, in fact. It means that high skill diamond and ruby players have to go throw around a WT lobby for minimum of 100 games in order to get all the rewards. Additionally, it means that WT players that are interested in ranked can't play ranked or else they might miss out on Emerald.

It's quite the opposite. More players in ranked means the ranking and match making can be more accurate. For example, if you double the amount of players in plat, you half the chance of a plat player encountering a ruby team. Double the players in diamond, you add a lot more people to soak up the rubies before match making has to resort to matching rubies against plats. If the matches are more even overall, it leads to a more fun structure overall

I'm not overestimating anything. Ranked will push players up if there are too many in the low ranks. Gold is average. If you think of it as each rank is a rough percentage of the playerbase, adding more players will open up more availability across all percentages. The most in gold since that's the largest percentage, but it will open up more in all other ranks including diamond

I still think it's best to just make ranked players go to wt modes, if you've got time to reach diamond you've got time to play quick cash.
Removing all of it's exclusivity and letting ranked keep theirs is 100% just catering.
If it was the other way around you wouldn't be fine with it, you're okay with it now because it benefits you.

The issue with the double blades deflect is the servers. IIRC deflect and hitscan recognition happens on the server rather than the client side, so the latency causes frequent mishaps
