I honestly don't think defib is all that good. I think it's a crutch, I think it's easy, but I think it's often a detriment to the player it's being used on, especially if they're a light. I'd rather a medium who plays well, gives good supporting fire, heals, and brings an APS or a zipline for quick rollouts, or some glitch mines to counter other defibs.

sure, but it's still a full second to use, 3 seconds of waiting, plus 5 seconds of no gear while you wait for 7, 9, or 10 seconds for regen. Opposed to just, finding a moment for a 4 second revive (which if you're slick and spiffy, you can pull off in really nasty spots) and then you have two full health players instead of one and a half. Smoke grenade is honestly a nice alternative to defib bc it lets you do cheeky full revives.

I think honestly defib is the item in the meta with the most room to be swapped out because it's a gadget that, effectively doesn't do anything unique or special that you can't also do more efficiently without it.

The time spent getting a "good" defib spot can also be just spent regrouping with a normal revive, like lights and heavies have grown accustomed to doing the entire time the game's been out. Just because the defib is there doesnt mean the medium needs to, or always should, use it. It's an alternative. Not a given.

Medium can do that too. It's as simple as not equipping defib, and having a different gadget that's more useful when people are alive, instead of one that's only functional when people are dead. It's viable. You just need to play around it. It's not some impossible feat, it's just different.

that's input buffering, it queues your inputs for when you're inactionable to do them the second you are
the issue is, is that the queue is waaaayyy too long for a fps, it's unreasonable at 100-200 milliseconds
