I have been trying to trade my Trike shards since the day I got the event. I cannot select it currently to trade for or to trade them away. Am I missing something? I thought they was open to everyone or was it just Fidelity members? I have VIP and have had it for years, so it's not the lack of VIP. I have over 2.8k shards.
Small edit: I have just reinstalled the game just prior to this post, that isn't the issue at this point. I'm not sure what is.

There's no option to actively trade shards in custom trades. You have to wait for an offer in the trade harbour and it also seems that you need to have more than 6000 shards before you get an offer. It also seems that the offer stop to appear once you are down to 6000 shards again. Just guessing.
If you have more than 6000 and with some "luck" you may see something like this
