Oh yeah. If you climb higher on a cliff then hop in your Thopter, you can definitely glide down. But fuel usage is crazy. Just to get that little hop the cliff side, you'll eat through the entire tank.

I've done that, but it doesn't really count. Flying or vulturing up to and beyond 900 appears to be the limit.

Last base on Kirana III idk if its worth moving 4mil water, 2 storages of every item except parts, 4-5 of every machine.

I'll try to explain it, first you put your vehicles into a storage box, since they don't get brought in their constructed form (except your scout which you put in your vbt), after which you should be good to backup your base

however it might be good to watch a video just to make sure

But my issue lies in the logging in every 30 days to refuel it too. Can i just copy the base and disappear for a bit?

you don't have to tear it down, the base backup just copies it all and puts it in a tool, also if you just keep it backed up and stay in main menu I'm pretty sure fuel isn't a problem

Yes, you just have to manage them getting on the crawler or the carrier when you come back by to pickup the crawler. Many people will abandon the crawler in this case. The carrier is more valuable.

They spent so much time and money on it for me to only see it one time and it makes me sad.

Like the ability to reset specific missions and redo them (for no additional reward other than the experience) would be cool.

Anyone else finding PVE Deep Desert Testing Stations aee wacked? NPCs able to ignore your stunning attacks? NPCs interrupting your attacks? T6 gear taking several attacks to take guys down? The heavy take 10 - 20 shots and at least 10 strikes. Is that normal?

Since we have the new testing stations on the Overland map, the DD Station's make no sense at all. The loot you get for all effort (mostly time) is just meh. Did one the other week...was my last DD Testing station till the change that loot table or how they work over all.

well it was me and my hubby. We ran another station before with 3 of us and it was even worse. I ended up hiding in a lighting fixure and drill shotting them from a distance. went through my stacks of mk4 and mk2 heal kits. Also I don't know if it was a me-issue, but I think it took me so much time to clear out each mob group, by the time I had cleared the required number of waves it may have reset, so I was stuck in an infinite loop of never-ending alarm waves that I had to be super strategic about killing.

And while it doesn't always work, the key it to fire the Perforator at the Pentadoor, aiming for the Boss or adds. I guess it gets their attention sometimes and they come and stand at the door. They'll even react if I use heavy attacks with my Melee weapon.

It's literally why I have either the Slaver pants or T5 Stillsuit (even WITH the face pauldron) as my go-to outfits. If you want to test what I'm talking about, just put on the atredies rusher or whatever (the very last one) and go to the character modification vendor. Toggle "show outfit" or whatever it's called and move the chest slider up and down, you'll see nothing change, where as most other outfits it will appropriately deform. I think the slaver or one other top is built on the same mesh and suffers the same bug.

And if you want to see why it looks silly, max out all the sliders except height, then pay the 5k and see it in game, you will look like an emaciated person with a giant booty/thighs, it looks ridiculous lol

I always farm on mediums, rarely on the largest ones

With the Sandcrawlers unique threads (for less worm aggro) im usually driving straight lines or in circles and after a minute or two, i hop into my carrier and fly up with the carrier+crawler to around 500-700 meters, stay in air to reset the worm aggro (if he didnt breach) for a while, i look around and if i see/hear nothing, i go back down with the carrier and continue farming :)
Works every time, its not to hard ;D

As well: Stay close to your carrier.
IF its a short breach, use your shiga wire/bindu sprint, to get quicker to your carrier and then i always press space (fly up) and towards the crawler and im using the booster always :)

Just be aware of any nearby crashed ships, worms have a habit of teleporting to/from them without breaching a second time

Aggro on the cralwer is FAR less than the compactor. You can do a full ring around a medium blow without worry.

Here's my steps:

1. drop the crawler at the edge of the medium ring and park the carrier to the left of it
2. drive one full circle around the edge of the ring back to the carrier
3. hop out and lift the crawler in the air until worm sign disappears (I count about 10 real seconds just to be safe)
4. Repeat, every time you'll have a smaller ring to drive around
5. Once you've vaccumed about 70%, you can start doing two laps safely.
6. Repeat the process > ring > pickup > wait > drop until the ring is too small to drive in a circle
7. Switch to a forward/back approach, and do half the remaining at a time until it's all gone
8. Profit

I've done this method about 30 times and have only triggered worm aggro if I try to push it (i.e. do 2 laps on a full ring, 3 laps on a smaller one)

But if you do it the slow way I have outlined, you should never see aggro with a default crawler. (no special parts)

It's also important to make sure you have the blow to yourself. Someone out there with a compactor will basically immedately aggro the worm.

Yup, I have the same strategy. Park, drive with “full speed” in straight lines forwards and the backwards to pick all spice up, then switch to the next line. After 2-3 lines I reset worm aggro by going above 550 for a minute or so?

My shortcut to "avoiding box" is to build into terrain. There are so many natural land formations with different elevations and layouts that if you just simply build the base to match the shape of the terrain you're on, you will naturally avoid "box." Also build out one-room at a time for needs. like "I need a place to refine ore" so build out A ROOM that lets you do that, design that space, and if you need the next thing "I need a spice refinery," make a hallway, build out the room to do THAT thing.

I'm a hark character, and I wanted to play with the Atredies set, so what I did, was build an Atredies "pyramid" (first image) temple thing from the ground up, designed all the interior rooms, then I went back over top of it and said "okay, what if my Hark character took this place over and started modifying it, what does that look like?"

Worms go where they want... there's meant to be hard boundaries that allow them to move around but a select few areas they can't go... but well... they ignore them sometimes... hence why at launch we still had Sky Hulud.

worms pass under solid rock, in hagga very frequently. it looks like they simply imposed a strict map where the worm can attack and have interaction with the surface. which also results into updating hagga basin map is a very risky business for funcom. one f*up and the worms start eating bases again

As well, the "Sentinel Rounded Railings" are bugged.. they dont work on square tiles but look terrible on rounded floors and their form is made for a square floor. (there is a hole.. so its pointless to use them) :/

Soooo, its not exactly a "hole" in the piece itself but if you use it, it looks a bit broken.
The "Sentinel rounded railing" is shaped like a square but for some reason you cannot use it on square floors.
and if you use it on a rounded floor of any type, it just looks bad.. and you can fix it with a "rounded inward floor" but this makes the rounded floor a square again, so it feels pointless and "broken" to me. (why use 2 floor pieces if you could have used 1)

And the problem is, a Observor build set has a rounded floor without a rounded inward floor type, so you cant use that type of set with this railing 🥲 and the sentinel build set has no rounded floors.. so you cant even use that one to match this railing besides other sets i guess which do work with it 🤷‍♀️

This kinda makes me want to make a DD carrier base using those crazy pieces as a foundation to hold the whole base 🥲
It looks very unstable but it has like 7k health, so you can safely use that in a base :)

I think it was becuase that was the first one we ever went into and no one knew what to expect.

And then you roll up and see all the beacons your first time and are all 'Holy crap...what the hecks down there...' and add your beacon to the pile...

It's wild tho, even after the beacon clean up they put in round about Ch2...there are still so many...(there were at least another 6 to 8 along the way and around the Yellow Penta)

🥺 Another DD week has come to an end. I’ve built a new functional base - I’m calling it Quick’n’Cube - which has space for 2 crawlers, 2 carriers, cargo, 6 assaults, and 4+ buggies, including spice and ore refineries and 14 windfalls. I processed most of the resources right on-site, but not much came of it this time. Sometimes I spent 3 hours just waiting for the Bada'Boom. But the 25% week was great... I produced a lot for the guild. I also made some good purchases, like T6.4 weapons, and managed a few sales. Visited the new ruin... 😱 very nice atmosphere. Wish you all a nice week.

Thanks. Its just a ugly cube 😅 But it's very efficient. And space-saving. And yes... the spice refinery is safe, no damage because the bottom half is inside the base. And Windtraps must placed outside to work.

Yes i want to say that Windtraps must be in storm area. It goes offline when you place in safe area and to near of wall, but in my case it works perfect.

glad you can get it to work. I never can. Even without a pentashield. If my traps are "watersealed" by cover they will stop working. I have to make sure part of them touch a only "sheltered" area.

This is why I love this gorgeous game. A 100% solo journey from licking dew from leaves, getting burned by the sun, running from worms and hiding from storms, to solo sandcrawling large spice fields and living fat off the land in a mansion full of water and spice. The gratification of making it this far and enjoying the fruits my labor since launch is unlike anything else I've experienced in a game. Yet I still love staring at my footprints and watching the sand deform around my feet, and watching the sun bake the rocks of distant cliffs. Thank you Funcom for this exquisite masterpiece.
