Incase anyone wanted to know what a real sector weather alert for a sandstorm (haboob) looks like. This one is pretty mild and the buildings help keep the dust down increasing visibility but I have been on ones where visibility is near zero all you can see is a grayish brown. The devs did a great job when it comes to how sandstorms look and their effects.

Saddleback Outpost (Harkonnen obviously) is my current main base but atypical in its architecture; neo-brutalism meets curves. I already posted this to Reddit but yesterday our guild had a sandbike race in the DD, and one of our guild members works for redbull, so I joked that the race was sponsored by RedBull™️, and then made this sign

Ended up being our starting line, and this sign was a pain to make - no vertical lights and light limit meant I had to use a staking claim just to get some more lights

The race ended up being a blast, to make it fair everyone had to use a standard mk4 bike with no unique parts. We had like 10 racers, but only 3 finished the race - the worm ate good that day

This was the course btw - started in PVE but crossed into PVP, with the idea that players could either take a booster or a seat and have a second player fire on other players, but most people got eaten by the worm around the first half way mark

If you have a guild I highly recommend doing this, it’s a ton of fun

How does it take 2 hours to collect supply? Each ship is like 4 supply, and this thing only costs 35 supply. It's like 9 or 10 ships, and you can do each in under a minute.

the trick i've learned with the sandbike racing in the DD is to stick to one 3x3 have the start be say a base on an island closest to the first quicksand barricade and travel allong and through the rock islands to the other side of the 3x3 helps a lot with cutting down on worm aggro

i'm pretty sure i failed to get both legit staring contests achievement accomplisments one being me the first being another dude harvesting flour sand. ANyway anyone have a screeny of that, especially where they stick out their inner head? So cool to witness.

Keeping Saudakar involvement a complete secret was a big thing in the books. I can't imagine the Landsraad not reacting violently to news that the Emperor tried to wipe out the Atreides.

Most of the remaining houses involved in the Landsraad are scavenging to get by and in hiding around Hagga with two specific houses really trying to keep a low profile in the Deep Desert. They hold no actual power or armies to back up their claim. They are all exiled into the dust reminiscing about their former glory what they used to be. When war of Assassins was declared it was purely a diversion to get all the houses involved with Arrakis to squander their resources and it worked. Allowing two factions to contest a single planet they both bankrupted each other now all the other houses involved are involved to milk the situation with favors to sway the power dynamic. But in this fanfiction version of Dune, the other houses are very weak.

Fully fleshed out Cockpit (passenger side) in "1st person" view of the Sandcrawler. Sorry it's so dark, my base is maxed out for lighting and Funcom doesn't seem to want to give us the ability to adjust brightness for lighting. So 3D Artists spent time (time = Dev cost) to complete the interiors of all our Vehicles but we can't see them through normal methods, makes sense. I would love to make a video about it but can't seem to replicate what I did here.

Testing the new building limits in A-row of the DD right before the weekly reset. This base is around ~920m up and about 1/3rd of it's boundary is the World Map traversal wall. I have no doubt it'll still be wiped tomorrow morning but as buggy as this game is who knows.

EDIT: In a surprise to nobody, the base did in fact get wiped like "normal" altitude bases do each week.

My first week with Dune: Awakening is over and here are some of my initial impressions. I'm very impressed with the game and pleasantly surprised, especially by the fact that it delivers relatively good graphics and runs smoothly on my old PC.

Without being political here, I activated a staking unit and built a memorial at my base for a man whose schtick was to ask anyone and everyone to come up and provide evidence that their opinion was better argued than his. Straight question, serious answers or decent theories only but does this nose tube only 'look' appear in game at all, either as a helm type or variant of an existing? I saw this on the Survive Arrakis promo vid for dune awakening ad well, here we are in September and i've not seen it in my crafting trees or loot. I was convinced i saw someone at the exchange once who had it, and at the time i didn't stop to ask how they did it.

It was discussed but only briefly, since I didn't want to thump them in PvE. They might have been afk, and I didn't want to be like the griefer. In PvP thumping enemies is a different thing imo.

Often thought using pillars just created weakspots where your structure relies too heavily on one piece and more area gets exposed to the elements should the base shield go down... but then I just saw this:
