Sometimes they'll hang around after surfacing the first time. I get jump scared so many times by worms surfacing right next to me after I go back to the spice patch.

Also, they can surface right on top of drumsand eat you with no warning.

My biggest issue was my weapon broke, me and my buddy have never been in the Deep desert before, and didn't have a shield. I think its perfectly fine how it is id just prefer a more labyrinth type of area vs the same place for 6-7 rounds I feel like that's a little boring but I'm glad you were able to do it solo, unfortunately I was just underprepared for my first time and it is totally possible solo with a shield and a simple adept knife which is how I beat it solo earlier today. but I think there should be stages, the farther you can get the harder / more enemies there are and the better loot you can receive and its up to you to determine how far you can go. I also think it would be a fun idea to put the best loot behind a puzzle bit by adding challenge like rooms with puzzles and such like in the story when you go into the old fremen sietch.

That's 100% not the case. Sheltered bases inside Hagga Rift will decay even if they are sheltered and aren't hit by NPCs.

how do you know? You seen the base taking damage randomly without a storm passing by? Ive seen bases that have tiles 1 storm from destroying and will take 0 damage if no storm is present. Like during the corolios storm when no normal sandstorm is happening for 10 hours

Yeah, I definitely agree that losing an entire base is kind of harsh, especially since there isn't really a safe place to park your stuff unless you use the bank. Even that only has limited capacity, and it's a pain to move stuff there.

we had a guys base next to us without power for over two weeks and we couldn't do anything to it

so why is our base just gone and allowed to be demolished/ raided in less than a week without power?

we wanted to get rid of that guys base because there was nothing in it and it was in the way of our expansion, eventually we just logged on one day to find it just gone

coincidentally he stopped playing when the deep desert changes were implemented

just like a good chunk of us started to drop off too...but i was still holding out hope the game would get better but i guess it doesn't matter now

I left it open for all for about two or three weeks after I took all my important stuff to the new location, but after all... I deleted the sub-fief and sacrificed it back to the desert.

The area under that "bridge" within the pentashields were open for all from the beginning, as a little shelter for everyone against sandstorms or for short AFK-breaks.

I found the advanced set looked exactly right. However, I just quit this effing game and deleted it. Why did I just give up and delete the game? I was building a large base that was damn near exact to that photo example with the advanced set, looked damn near like that photo, etc. I was very happy about it too. I have had serious troubles with this game since the start, so I was NOT happy when this happened --> my console was sitting safely on a rock. A small section of the base off to one side wasn't doing what I wanted, and I deleted the foundation of that completely separate pillar I was building knowing it would delete the two walls above it. That small section was only NEAR the console. Not under it. A good foundation block away. Game deleted the console, and my entire rest of the base collapsed into nothing. No warning, which ABSOLUTELY should have been part of the game from the start. I. AM. DONE.

Deleting a console doesn't instantly destroy your base. Structures remain standing, they just won't be shielded.

Thanks for the suggestion that's what the game should have done. It ABSOLUTELY collapsed my base, however. Remember that foundations that are deleted will delete the things above it unless those other things are anchored by another foundation somewhere. Game broke, console vanished, ENTIRE BASE vanished. Console wasn't even sitting on a foundation. It was on a rock. No foundations near enough to be "under' it. However, the game broke and voila! Everything gone, bug or glitch or FUBAR whatever. Call it what you like. Get it now? It did give me back all that stone though in small boxes littering the landscape . . ..

Yeah, the foundation/support system could use some work. I lost my first base because the wall I was trying to delete glitched out visually and disappeared on my screen, so I deleted my foundation pillar instead. Whole base came down, and then a storm hit while I was frantically trying to grab everything off the ground.

Yeah the saga with any MMO is figuring out enjoyable and playable game loops at endgame.

Here they definitely created something really enjoyable for T1-T5 in HB, and just didn't have anything super developed for when you finish that part. I think they always underestimate how fast modern players can blow through content and be clamoring at the endgame door for more to do that is fun, fair, and rewarding for time invested.

It is also an mmo culture problem. We spend $40-$80 usd on a game and expect nearly infinite hours of game play. When in reality the game gives nearly triple the play time of the average single player linear campaign game. While also expecting consistent release of high quality content in ludicrous timelines, paid or unpaid.

100%. Which is why MMOs just don't get created too often these days anymore, it's just a bad business model from the financial end and nothing but frustration from the players' end. Sucky place for developers to be - but luckily for us there is the passion and love of the game to give it a try still out there.

The real issue is the standerds of other games doesnt work with MMOs in todays age. People expect the type of new age innovations that came from games like WoW and others like it, but all the bells and whistles of todays tech, which has created an unrealistic expectations of what devs can deliver in a reasonable time.

So they added Striv and Titanium nodes to the shield wall in DD. These guys put penta shields over nodes, but we could still farm through them. So now they changed to solid walls. And this is why we need to make the whole DD PvP. The PvE griefing is too strong.

There's an easy explanation as to why I prefer a less populated server. 1. Higher chance to farm spice and drop ships in hagga before other players, resulting in progression. 2. More likely to find that perfect spot to build a base. 3. Less likely to get PvP griefed in DD when farming the lab stations/larger spice. Not everyone enjoys playing PvP. My server isn't "empty" it's certainly less populated than most but we do have quite a lot of good cooperative players who work together in DD

We have a guild on our server that attacks solo farmers and disrupt our spice harvesting operations by swarming the Harvesters in the PVE zone.
We stood our ground and been fighting them back, defending and attacking them. Now that they cant push our harvesters down they have to fight in the sky the way the game is meant to be played.

A little buggy, I think. Noticed it before, too. Seems, the doorleafs are swapping their positions, when the animation plays. Loaded in correct state, but after it they're swapped.
Just some animation-issues.
