Framework mostly done. Time to decorate the space a bit.

The bedroom is partitioned off from a larger dining room, which I still need to gather more materials for. Tried mixing up the walls a bit to get a more varied texture.

There's a little reading nook below, leading down into the factory floors.

Still largely undecorated, and I am not 100% sure about where everything goes. But it's functional.

Below this is a crawlspace which fits my fuel generators. Lucky coincidence when I was placing initial foundations, and they're out of the way.

Next to the factory floor and below the dining hall is the main hall. This is where most of the decor work will go. Statues, couches and probably a large meeting table. That sort of grand hall feel.

The Atreides ramps allow you to place floors into them, so you don't have to see/work around the weird angles. Which is why the hall has this recessed half wall layout.

I still need to extend the fiefdom vertically, so I can merge it with the little garage I have on the ground floor (a separate, basic fief with a single generator for the buggy and bike for now)

The tall doors are potential extension connectors. I want to have a proper hangar for the thopters at some point, probably downstairs in a central pillar going from the top to the bottom somehow.

Or maybe on the side here, which has an odd flat area and cliffs right outside the borders.

Funcom CS are overworked and probably understaffed. But they DO come through when it matters. Finally got compensation from losing a scout to a very weird glitch when loading into Hagga from the World map. Entire thopter broke apart violenty immediately as I was loading in, during a regular sandstorm.

You could put two halfwalls directly under the stair incline and put a shelf there to fit storage bins.

Before I built a separate building for all of it, weird dead spaces I also just used to put water cisterns. You can never have too many.

Ahh, those collectors edition roof pieces with the roof lights work. As well as the corner round and corner round gap fill for the hark set. I haven't used any of the atreides flooring but I think you can do it with those corner round pieces as well. The choam floors are just too thick because they have those domed bottoms.

You just attach a floor to the bottom of a halfwall and then you've got two halfwall sized sections in a grid.

Anything above the mountain range edge that splits the map in half is completely worm safe, even in those small pockets of sand.

fuel generators are a pita...imo. If you want to run the larger machines it eats up that power really quick and you only have so many spots that you can use for generators. Especially for me in a tax free base. Max is 40 production slots.

If space is an issue, then you start using larger generators. You can refuel your entire base with a single click, so I fail to see how they're any more of a PITA than anything else.

The issue is you have 40 slots of prodution. I'm using a chunk of them on the machinery. Which doesn't leave a lot for fuel generators that only generate 75 power. So I get 350 power and only use a few slots of production

Also if I want to take a break..I can re-fuel every 30 days

Its been a long week putting this together. Had to scrap my original entrance for more structure pieces. The road into the place was internal but it was 1000 pieces just in the entrance. Now I have plenty of space for decor and production. Just got to put the pentashields in and add a bit more detail on the East facing side. Lol yeah I struggle with those too. It's best to just mess about with different shapes without a goal in mind to find new combinations, then you have a library you can pull from while working on the actual vision. A lot of this was figured out that way. Tons of trial and error and free flowing with a general shape in mind. It's also important to tackle big bases mostly a section or two at a time

There's a whole industrial garage i still need to build under that pinnacle that will be raised above the flowers so I don't block access

just tons of patience and trial and error and some creativity along the way. There's no perfect design but close to something you want to achieve.

For example, the private apartment on the top left of the shielded portion i test built separately down below before I even started on the structure. Then I started on the main brace that serves as the floor that interfaces with the pinnacle. I went all the way out in one direction without paying much attention to the aesthetics. Then I support of vibed out that shielded throne area and rebuilt the apartment on top of that. The general flowing roof was next. After that wing was about 80-90% I started on the lateral protrusions, one is an open hangar and the other is a small industrial wing that sits on top of the path attaching to the other pinnacle. After those were about 90% I moved on the opposite end of the shielded area and vibed out that roofed in open sided garden area (really wish we could have dessert plants for base building). At this point, the main cross on top of the pinnacle was about 90%. I then worked on getting a good flow for interfacing all of these together. Then I dug into the path to the smaller pinnacle which by now i had mostly figured out for design. Big ball room on top of the gap that acts as a bridge to the staircase descending to the guest hangars and guest apartments. Getting that connection was actually kind of a pain, cus I had to figure out a way to match both sides to meet properly together. After that one was done it was a bit of flying around it repeatedly and seeing where I needed to make adjustments to get it looking good. That's just my workflow, but I think it keeps an overall daunting big project really manageable

It can also really help to block out the whole project with foundations if it's a ground based base.

There are worms that just wander the map and generate no wormsign, because they are not spawned from player aggro. But there's a distincive sound cue that plays to warn you one is nearby, that most players don't seem to know about.

TL;DR don't turn off the game music 8)
