My base is right next to the Jasmium area, in between it and the aluminum. So, I just drive in like a maniac. Then fly out in my pocket thopter when the rads get to high. Rinse/repeat.

note if there was collision damage we'd have riots cuz people kept breaking vehicles to bugs or jank. This is a much simpler solution especially since threads and engine/psu constantly wear out even when idle

So I was flying south through C-2 when my chopper starts sling-shoting everywhere. I can't really move, it's flipping and freaking out. I manage to land it on some rocks and thinking it's something that might be fixed by logging out and in I do so. When I log back in I'm here (See video) no chopper nothing and I still can't move. I'm standing on quicksand that's not killing me, no worm attraction, no chopper (no where near were I landed) and ya. I ended up having to kill myself so I could respawn. Lucky I didn't lose my chopper but figured I would share what it was doing.

Brother, you're missing my point. The stilltent already does all of the same things. I just think the wings shouldn't be getting damaged while waiting for people to finish their prep to take off. Fuel usage? Meh, fine, the AC is running, so you're using fuel I guess. If I'm not flying, the wings shouldn't be getting damaged.
Nobody is sitting in their thopter to reduce water usage, and they wouldn't even if they could do it without damaging the thopter.

It's roughly 500m software limitation for render distance. I am using a 4090 that's liquid cooled. and it doesn't improve over what some of my IRL buddies see with a 3070.
I'm a little miffed about it, because having enemies "pop in" wayyyy too close sucks in the DD.

Well, next step would be to get the bike and head over to anvil, I recommend a base in south-east regions so you can easily cross east for rift crystals and carbon for steel. This base will last you till after buggy when you're ready to go get alumiunum
Also make sure to join a faction to unlock new tileset
Atraides tileset I feel is best because you can easily mix inner and outer sides of walls for varied walls

this area is really nice, it's very flat, you get worm noises, about 400ish meters to go east for the carbon for steel, abundant iron around base, as well as granite and copper and dew. You can always visit anvil and relatively cheaply buy an amazing float belt+shield+power pack, it's my goto place when worms ate me

Actually not weird at all, that's the whole point of shields and swords, the faster/more kinetic energy, the better shield is.
I assume the staggering is more for balance gamewise, I love the melee/stamina/shield dance

because as I understood it worm is attracted to the loudest thing, so if you compact and walk it's tracked separately.
Or rather let's say there's a bar filling up to 1000, compactor will maybe add 50 noise per woosh but walking is just 5 so in the long term, the steps will never matter?
Can always try one guy walking and compacting, other just standing and compacting until worm comes and see who gets red first

Its about pressure and the dots are good, think about it. If you're poisoned and on fire you're constantly losing HP, meaning you'd have to disengage in the fight and try to bandage up, when I see that you're escaping to heal i'mma pressure the heck out of ya to stop you from healing scoring more hits making you blow your stam
They aren't super OP broken which is a good thing but its enough to make in an actual high stake fight pressure you to heal and possibly getting you caught in a combo

Ya for sure but again it just feels like it falls in line with the lore, kinda why theres such an importance on melee/sword fighting in the world of Dune is that the shields completely made firearms kinda useless and why they kinda went back to melee as a counter, I personally like that cause I've always been an upclose melee mmo gamer. Can see them making like long range a bit more aggressive in terms of a buff but don't wanna make it too crazy like sniping 1k meters away or something.
Also the thing that will delete shields are the smgs, 10m range though but they literally delete shields + with status debuffs poison + fire stagger shotty you can 100-0 someone instantly

low pop is honestly a safer bet until you get someone who hops on and ruins things one thing since i had and a few others had the early access we cordinated with everyone on the server to block people from building a blocking off those high resource zones by making a small fief
so luckily the basin dew fields etc. cant get blocked now
