currency would drop that let you buy one of three items at each of the item shrines (i think they're called obelisks or something). the choice between three items or saving ur currency for a different shrine was so much cooler than just getting free items and having no say for what you get

There's a bunch of different shrine types, and multiple of them give you a choice between items, though.

the forge system is aight but it feels like a replacement for a much better system that let you choose your playstyle while still getting that random chance of which 3 items u can possibly buy

also personally, (my opinion) game is better than infinity, the crystals you save end up making it way too easy to overpower everything, and way harder to die, trust me I know I was the one who got to stage 195 on infinity on 200, and i have this many omnistones in infinity:
