I mean that's not a spaghetti code issue--if they've coded damage values around a variable type, and that variable type gets used for that in thousands of procedures, changing that variable type is actually more work than a stat-squish could ever be, and far more likely to cause very serious bugs.

Not quite the same problem--the issue is that the ilvl difference doesn't match the stat difference at those dungeon levels, so it goes from 'ARR endgame scaling' to 'getting into HW scaling' in a single jump.

Contrast with ShB levelling scaling which is smooth

Damage for healers recalculated after Cleric Stance to be equivalent
Tank damage made good after the loss of Strength melding
More stamina put on gear than the stamina melding-for-start-of-tier option was removed
Potency scaling whenever dots are removed
Ninjas having mudra taking off ogcd lead to mudras hitting HARD AF.

So theres 5 right there.
