But, if you want my take. The idea I always had was the Elemental Archfiends would be introduced with a teaser in like MSQ. Similar to how warring triad, and Weapons were teased with things. While not being directly in the story. I'd probably see the archfiends as like 4 strongest warriors of light who fell on the void and became voidsent. And because of their old comradery they still work together but now corrupted. And they come to the source. Scarmiglione being the first fight and his "Mortal" Wizardly form being phase 1, then his Lich form being phase 2. Cagnazzo in the events of FF4 you fight him immediately after Captain whats his face who becames a snake man with snakes for hands. and Cagnazzo to me felt like the weakest. (even tho by no means was he weak) but cagnazzo would be disguised as someone and I'd probably make him either a dungeon or solo instance. And then he breaks out of his disguise. Barbaraccia would have her probably "influence" some town in ilsabard to protect her and we would go in and fight her in a trial. then Rubicante, Ok hear me out. Have Rubicante be the most sane and normal of the four archfiends. and have him play a role of helping us and guide us to each of the other 3 four fiends. And make it so that he wanted to have his old friends be defeated to let their souls have peace. And then at the end he faces us at the end of the trial series.
