Since it's your character and you have to like how they look.

As for Resistance Weapons, I have Blade's Resolve personally.

And since I like blue, I color-coordinated my tank glam to match it.

But it's not really essential either.

I rather like my Astrologian glam that uses Canopus Lux but has a primarily white doctor's aesthetic.

As long as the NPC is given a name of some kind like Horizontal Hyur, or talks in a cutscene, you can use https://www.garlandtools.org/db/# to find out the exact gear and dyes they’re using! Simply type up the NPC’s name in the search bar and click on “Info” > “Equipment”. For NPC’s that change their looks, click on “Alternate Instances” and comb through the list to find out which version of the NPC is wearing the correct items.

Items marked with (guess) means that the item listed is only a similarly used item and is not the actual item in question, which is likely a custom NPC-only version, or an undyeable item with a different color.

Slots marked as custom with no item generally means that the item is completely unique to them and cannot be obtained, though some story NPCs have their outfits on the mogstation.

I typically differentiate a hood vs a veil by whether or not the hood covers the neck, or allows space for hair to flow from behind.

Hoods:

• Yorha type 51 hood of Aiming/Scouting (Comes with a blindfold, but can be removed with visor option)
• Lakeland hood of Fending (Comes with a face helm, can be removed with visor option)
• Marid leather hood of scouting/striking (comes with face helm, can be removed with visor)
• Bozjan Hood of Fending/Aiming
• Alexandrian Hood of Casting/Healing (Casting model has monocle)
• Rain Hood

Veils:
